Intramuros is a 400 years old stronghold dating since the Spanish occupation of the Philippines, now contrasting with the skyscrapers from the other side of the Pasay river. If you are interested in learning about the Filipino heritage and history, be sure to pay a visit to the place in Manila where history comes to live in a beautiful, cobbled stone European surrounding.
We visit the Unesco World Heritage San Agustin Church and we witness a beautiful wedding in Manila Cathedral. IT's impossible not to fall in love with the heart of Manila, learning about the great national hero Jose Rizal and feeling chills over your spine when you walk inside the catacombs.
The perfect way to end he day is with a lovely dinner at one of the most popular open air restaurants in Intramuros, enjoying a live music session.

Well said about Filipino Jose Rizal who died for his own country the Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Pilipino always supported foriener vloger I'm new your chanel thanks visite my country well not skip your ads god bless stay safe
Of all the foreign vloggers here in the Philippines. By far, your drone shots have been the most clean looking and perfect.
Tama ka
I agree , the shot was really beautiful that it almost looks like a photo in a magazine
Thank you so much 🥰
Intramuros actually won Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction in the recent 29th World Travel Awards held in
Vietnam. The other awards we got were Asia’s Leading Beach Destination (sixth time) and Asia’s Leading
Dive Destination (four times straight).
Jose Rizal was a doctor (Opthalmologist), a polymath and a polyglot. He has numerous monuments and memorials both here and abroad. Maybe visit also the Rizal monument in Luneta or Rizal Park. That's where he was executed by firing squad. The monument has his skeletal remains beneath it and is guarded continuously by the Philippine Marines Corp. :)
Btw, in Fort Santiago's Rizal Shrine, there was a time they had on display Rizal's
bullet-struck vertebra. I don't think it's there anymore.
Here in Heildelberg, you can find a statue of Rizal near the house where he lived & the street was named after him.He studied at Heidelberg university, one of the prestigious universities in Germany.
Thanks for visiting our historical site, the Spanish colonial site in the heart of Manila Philippines 😘😘
🙄🙄
What I like this couple is that they are really interested in the culture and history of each country they are visiting without judgment and that's what a real traveller supposed to be ..
Hello! Thank you for sharing your video. I love watching the video, it reminds me of our history. Lest we forget, 🇵🇭🇷🇴🇲🇽🇮🇱🇯🇵🇬🇧🇨🇦🇺🇸for the people who fought for our Fredom, for who we are as a Filipino, like you as a Romanian. ☮️ as well a Brother. I salute you Michael&Gigi, for visiting Intramuros, the Philippines. Take care and stay healthy. ♥️🌹💕🤙💐☮️ Love you guys. 🙏
Additional info: Raja Sulaiman's kingdom / fort was originally in that area way before the Spanish occupation. It already had walls - but made of wood, bamboo, and earth. They had guns and canons made by Panday Pira. After losing battle vs the conquistadores, the area was occupied by the Spaniards, and upgraded with stone walls, renaming the place "Intramuros"
maybe you will enjoy visiting Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, in Bataan. its a bit of a drive towards north from Metro Manila (about 3hours?) but the whole park has a collection of preserved houses, transferred to the site plank by plank, block by block.. and it feels like being transported back in the spanish time.😊
Try to visit in "Vigan" Its a beautiful place also.
Lovely couple you two are. You both have to go to Iloilo City which has many Spanish and early American era heritage buildings, Spanish plazas and cathedral, heritage buildings, palatial mansions, antique fountains, belfries, more parks and plazas, open squares with monuments, public flower gardens, and extensive garden-laden riverside Esplanades beside the clean and scenic river. Biking lanes, museums, art galleries, huge wall murals and wall sculpture murals, outdoor sculptures, and....on the other side of the river modernity in the hotels, residential condominiums, shopping malls, restaurants by the river, artisanal bakeries and pastry shops, wide tree-lined avenues with center island palmtrees and greenery, wide plantbeds-strewn sidewalks. Iloilo was the Last Capital of the Spanish Empire in the Philippines and Asia. Visit the only UNESCO Heritage Church outside the island of Luzon in the Philippines - the beautiful Miag-ao Fortress Church in the town of Miag-ao Iloilo. ILOILO CITY is the Cleanest and Most Beautiful City in the Philippines. Come back on the 4th weekend of January for the annual ILOILO DINAGYANG FESTIVAL, which is considered by the Department of Tourism of the Philippines as the Best Tourism Event in the Philippines.

Thanks for visiting Intramuros... nice content. Your new subscriber here from Northwestern Mindanao
Awesome vlog guys! Very informative and really enabled me to also dive deep into the location, specifically Intramuros. The way you described the difference between the old and the new Philippines (intramuros/bgc) was so touching and and I felt your sincerity. I’ve been to both Intramuros and bgc but that was more than 10 years ago and only been to both places for a brief 5-10 minute stroll so was not able to appreciate both. But here you showcased the old fort really well. I read a book about a Christian martyr named Michael (Mihai) who was from Romania some 10 years ago and I’ve been acquainted with the suffering of your people too. Wishing you all the best in your adventures! Subscribed!

The San Agustin Church was founded in 1571 (made of bamboo and nipa) and completed in 1607. During the Spanish occupation, Chinese artisans were hired to work on the church that is why you see their influence in the design / craftsmanship of the church. Also, the lion is a symbol of the Spanish Kingdom of Leon. You will see the lion in their coat of arms. The 16 chandeliers in the church came from Paris, France. The intricate ceilings were painted by two Italian painters. 😊
Very beautifully presented video nd thanks for sharing detailed information 👍👍 Some of the footage of Manila was very nice and detailed.

Oh I thought you were Spanish. Like your kind of vlogging. I subscribed to your channel 3 days ago. Hope can gain more subscribers here in the Philippines.
Gigi noticed lion gargoyles in front of San Agustin Church. Before and during Spanish era, there is already a huge Chinese population living outside the walls of Intramuros. Most of them are merchants or doing manual labor like carpentry and sculptors. They were hired along with local Filipino laborers in building those huge churches and other establishments. The carvings and styling have Chinese influence in it.
You are very in vloggings .. nice captures of views .. you know the History of the place you are featuring in your vblogg here in Phils ./ Intramuros
Intramuros reminds me specially Saint Augustin Church and museum. 🇵🇭 Maraming salamat!
