It just keeps getting better!!!!
I've said before, some of the best minds in the world are working on ebike tech right now.
If DJI want to be leading they need to compete with the pinion MGU
That would be a pretty cool collab. Pinion needs more motor partners for their gearbox, other than their own homegrown motor.
Options will be good if they want widespread adoption.
The odd rumour that ZF will be doing their own MGU and the new ZF motor is very impressive @2.5kgs and 90nm
Love to see a review of the new Shimano EP801 updated motor!
Motor is good, but they cant sell it to you because out of stock 😂, i own a yeti160e with ep8. Still wating to get a ep801 only way to get them is by shimano dealer only.
Beside their firmware is very slow and they keep using the 6 bar batt display that does not tell you anything.
Hopefully I’ll get one of those. It really seems like an incremental improvement though more so they can compete in racing. these features, though like early response and overrun are bad for the riding experience. It feels very unnatural.
Man I love your videos. I'm always happy to see one when scrolling
Thank you very much. That is music to my ears.
I just bought their Power 500 system. Really impressive being their first battery power system. Hell, I’ll even consider an e-bike if DJI is in the game. Great video FC
Exactly. We need to recognize when a company is really special and we can trust that their product offerings will be good and they will continue to evolve. DJI is one of those companies.
Yeah it is a good choice, i own a yeti160e already so prob i will go with the basic amflow
Right on I hope they have a good distribution in the USA
The DJI battery has a self discharge option too. So if you choose to 100 percent then don't ride it will discharge.
super - I'll be back-📽
Schwarzenegger from the Terminator?
That smart battery will be the best on ebike, because sometimes you fully charge the battery but do not ride for weeks or even a month & dji smart battery will self balance to keep battery in good shape. Btw that should be the next move since the drone are on a ban into the US
Absolutely. For those that don't know, DJI has batteries on their drones (as of last year) that constantly monitor themselves for best health. If you don't use a fully charged battery after 48 hours, it will discharge itself to 95% to maximize longevity.
And if you don't use it for 1 week, it will discharge itself to 60%.
@@EMTBReviewyes, that will be the best to keep off seasson rides battery health
DJI will eventually blow the competition away. Just expect a product refresh every year so you can never keep up with the advancements they develop that fast
That's a great prediction. And they'll have firmware updates every two months that will improve the product already out there in the field.
One tip for making an E bike ... Battery must be good .... I mean good
Yes, for sure. It must be safe and reliable. And one thing very important on ebikes is it needs to be light and energy dense.
Aren't DJI drones currently being reviewed by the US govt for security and privacy reasons. Just another TikTok!
Definitely. The U.S. drone manufacturer, Skydio, keeps lobbying to get DJI banned because they cannot compete. DJI is just too good at the drone game.
I give these DJI ban efforts zero chance of succeeding. Too many consumers enjoy them. And too many professionals and rescue people use DJI for livelyhood and important work. No alternative at the moment.
😂 never trust the government
Shimano app interface is so slow and so bad, they cant even display the option to use batt % into the etube ride.
It was acceptable six years ago. Today.... no, no, no. How can they not update such an important product in the most rapidly evolving part of the market?
If the after sales support is the same for their drones I'll make sure to never buy a bike with that motor.
You bring up a good point there. They are really going to have to build up their support infrastructure in the US. This is one thing Bosch has done a good job with.
With the peak wattage, They have eliminated themselves from any type of bike used in a competition for class 1.
What is the limit for peak wattage? 600? Is that documented somewhere?
I bet DJI doesn't care about ebike racing at the moment.
@@EMTBReview to be in a true class one which is what most competitions call for, a peek wattage is 750. With the popularity of ebikes increasing, I believe regulations will be increasing too. Many places that have mountain biking trails, I’m sure will soon be limiting if they do not already to a true class one. And from 850 W peak to a 750 W peak Would not be a drastic difference and could possibly keep them open to a larger market.
There’s a ton of Chinese eMTBs motors, but the US market is completely dominated by Bafangs and their M510 and M600 systems are completely open. You can run any firmware you want. Based on specs alone I don’t see anything special about this DJI motor.
Bafang... good motors but definitely budget class. They're not on any legitimate mountain bikes in the U.S. at the moment.
This motor's weight, power, size and feature set is better than anything out there at the moment. Not a bad first effort and I'm sure they'll evolve it every few months.
No gearbox No interest
Fair point but I think adoption in the U.S. will take a very long time. It will be a niche market like the Rohloff. It's just so proprietary.
