the dots for battery warm up status and the faster instruction button use are very much the things I want to know - so many other videos seem to be telling me what I already know, so great job. Re the holding of the wheel, one Tesla driver video let slip that leaving his mobile phone resting on the cross bar of the steering wheel where it meets the steering column also mean you never get the warning to keep your hands on the wheel - this maybe a bad thing because it does allow you to switch off attention completely, but I think it might be the sort of thing that makes an update happen to prevent that from working. It needs to be your hand for a reason. (Until full autonomy)
I have to wait a couple more months for my M3, but keep soaking up videos to kill the time. Thanks for all the little details. Very good video. Just subscribed from Germany. Cheers.

I don't currently own a tesla but after watching your videos it makes me want to look into buying one. My one question is do you need a data plan to use everything that comes with a tesla?
This was great! My battery majorly drains. I unlocked the car for my son to get his bag out the back seat and he said when he opened the car the radio and screen were on. What’s that from? Also, I do keep sentry mode on, I think it’s on all the time. When I press the red camera to turn it off, it will go back to activating it. Can you do a video on how to preserve your battery life for us noobs? I picked up my little hippie girl on February 24th! I’m so in love, she’s so safe and worth every penny!
Steven Juanes right on! I would imagine we will forever find new things about this car since it keeps getting updates and new features. Don’t you think?
Steven Juanes oh man I would be sooooo happy! But I think Tesla is trying to hit year end numbers. Apparently this is also why they made the sleeper cars. If I was a speed guy I would go for it but I don’t even use the power I have now.

Cf Tesla We live near Brisbane and are touring round southern NSW. Currently in the Hunter Valley wine region but heading further south over next few days. Very hot here and smokey with bushfires everywhere. Car is covered in fine ash which sets the wipers off sometimes. Our round trip is going to be about 2,500-3,000kms (2,000 miles or so). Will have used up all our 1500kms free supercharging by the end of it - so I guess I need some referrals now. Took a couple out yesterday in the car as they expressed an interest. volcomsocom crazy but you actually just added one lol. Can’t skip over even the simple ones because that is actually really important to know. You will get a shoutout for that on the vid thanks
Hey thats great! Over 70% of people on this channel don't own one but plan to. Head over to our private facebook group and join us. Link in description
It doesn't vibrate to make sure your hand is on the wheel, it knows your hand is on the wheel because of the slight force you put on it. It vibrates to let you know, that its about to make a lane change.
Raphael Krug I went back and forward on that because it seemed it only did that in that hand position. Thanks for the correction! I appreciate your time commenting. This is exactly why I started this channel.
The rendering on the screen shows any cars that are next to you. If you manually try to change lanes when there is a car there it will yell at you but as long as you are in AP and tell the car by pushing down the blinker lever to change lanes you never have to worry about that. I push it all the time when others are next to me and it will find a safe spot. Good question. Check out my Rate This Drive videos to see it in action.
Cf Tesla waiting on my model 3 and what I love about your videos is the quick snapshots of use cases that would put me at ease with the car from Day 1.
On the phone (iPhone or Android) you can also select text containing a location and share it with the Tesla app and the car will also navigate to that location
At about 9 minutes in you mention the dots and how it referred to the car not being warmed up. Those dots actually have to do with regenerative breaking. You’ll see the bar go back and forth as you accelerate and when you arent, it is adding battery back to your battery. The dots are there because your battery is so full it can’t give itself any more battery
You can turn off the lane change confirmation in the customize autopilot or customize navigate on auto pilot. Then you don't have to move the wheel or change how you hold it.
Well I can't speak for other states but here we have to apply pressure to the wheel even in auto lane change mode. When we take off auto lane change we have to do more than just touch the wheel. If I don't apply constant pressure it will not change lanes until I do. Have you tried not touching the wheel in NOA and seen it do a lane change?
@@CfTesla have you clicked on the options under customize autopilot? There should be an option to turn off lane change confirmation. I've never had am issue with it not making a lane change and I keep my left hand hanging on the wheel similar to what you showed you originally did. ruclips.net/video/Na_iNNib26M/видео.html
The dots don't mean cold battery, they mean less regen(or power on the right side) if you are 100% charged you have less regen no matter the temperature, if your battery is very low, you have less power, also if its cold, less regen(pre conditioning helps with that)
Raphael Krug thank you I will make that correction in my next video. That was explained to me that way but since I made the video I took a 40 min drive and the dots stayed...
Another temperature tip: if you hold your finger on the temperature number, slide left and right without touching the temperature slider that appears and will still adjust for you.
Thanks Rick for commenting. We did get that tip in one of the next Tips videos of the 3 in the series. Please share if you know of any more tips like this. I am working on a subscriber tips video and need to compile all the ones I haven't shown yet.
Ya they are intersting. Since this video I have learned a little more about them. It is not necessarily tied to the temp of your batter but also tied to the amount of charge you have. If your battery is full or close you will have more dots as there is not enough room in battery to put in regen power. In other words you could have a fully warm battery but still see the dots if your battery is at a high %.
my wife and I love the scenery .. where or what area of the country are these videos being recorded. thanks, love your teaching videos but just wondering with the new voice command download, if these video are now redundant or more effort instead of just prompting by commands. Tesla is way ahead of us.. We will be buying the model Y someday and we will use your referral code when we do. please respond to our question as we are trying to find a retirement area that is beautiful without too much snow.
Steve Foerter hey Steve! Thanks for taking the time to comment! I live in beautiful Seattle area, well about 40 miles SE of Seattle. Question for you or your watchers: has anyone heard whether Tesla is working on reverse automatic braking (basically rear traffic alert if you are backing up and it detects a person, car or object and then brakes for you if you're distracted and not braking)? Tesla is so advanced on everything, it seems, but I know Subaru already has that feature (I have family members who own Subarus). Just curious--thanks!
My car does that now. I can't back out of my garage with it closed...tried that on accident. The censors are all around the car. I can even tell how many inches behind me things are. Does your Tesla not do it?
@@CfTesla I do not yet have a Tesla yet (hope to get a LR Model Y in about 12 months--don't know if I'll go AWD or stick with the 1 motor to get a bit better range) but have been researching them like crazy, and I could not find anything that said it'll stop you if you might back into something. Perhaps that is something that comes with FSD? Good to know yours has it--about 8 years ago, a small child was running across a mall parking lot and ran right behind my car, and I saw him right before I backed up. Thankfully I avoided him, but boy, that shook me to my core!
@@Jmaninaz1 Ya no worries there man. The car make so many noises and yells STOP at you so much you would have to be out of it completely to hit something.

Right on man glad this stuff is useful. How long do you have to wait?
Got a vin yesterday so hopefully before end of year!
Excited for you!!! Your life will never be the same. Welcome to the world where you like driving again
Great tips. I’ve had my 3 for 10 months and am usually very current on the tricks but I learned more. Thx!
ALL RIGHT! So glad I can help. Let me know if the other two tips videos in the series add anything for ya. Thanks for commenting.
On the phone (iPhone or Android) you can also select text containing a location and share it with the Tesla app and the car will also navigate to that location
Ok now thats cool! I will definitely add that to the next Tips video and give you credit. Thanks for commenting. Cheers
#9 is really cool. I will now try to test speech command like a boss!
Haha it’s good to do things like a boss. Thanks for commenting
Really useful!
Excellent video! Learned a few things I didn't know. Thanks!
Tony McEwing right on! How long have you been being driven by your Tesla?
Thanks, learnt a couple of things.
John Tisbury right on man! That is something I love about owning a Tesla. We will forever find new things. Any good tricks you have picked up?
The dots was super helpful. Thanks great video and I am now a subscriber after watching a second video of yours.
NICE! I totally understand. It often takes people in my life a couple times before they like me 🙃
Please like and subscribe! Thanks for the support. My referral code for 1,000 free supercharge miles is in the video description. Cheers!
Your welcome thanks for the comment. Cheers
Great video; these tips are quite helpful with my Tesla M3 SR+ I picked up on 8 December 2019.
Thanks for the kind words and welcome to the Tesla family!!! Did you go with the FSD package?
Great video will these tips work with an Android phone?
Very helpful tips! Thanks!
Your welcome! Thanks for watching
AWESOME TIPS! Subscribing immediately!
brian lenoir glad you liked it! Thanks for supporting the channel

Great video! Learned a few things. Thank you!
Kenny Slater Thanks Kenny for watching and commenting! I appreciate the support. How long have you had the Model 3?
Cf Tesla Ive had mine since August. It’s a blue dual motor with black interior. Really love the car.
Sweet man! I’m glad I went with the blue. Such a beautiful color. Can’t wait for full self driving!
Your video was very interesting 👍👍
MegaBoidin thanks!
Cf Tesla awesome thank you! Just found your channel and haven’t gotten through all the awesomeness yet. Thanks for the heads up on the rest!
@@rickkay9548 Wow Rick thanks for those kind words. Really means a lot. Ill keep tryint to delivery for you man!
Also tapping the temp turns the system on.

Nothing but good info. Great job! Subbed.
S. Anthony Says sweet man thank you for the support and the sub! I’m new to this but the stuff will keep getting better.
@@CfTesla My pleasure!
Great video
Zolan Rajapakse thanks Zoltan! Do you drive a Tesla?
Cf Tesla yeah just got mine in Dec. Only driven it twice, as we took delivery, a week later we went overseas, and still overseas
@@zolan23 oh no lol! Well at least you get something to look forward to when you return!
Sooooo useful, exactly what I needed !!!
Awesome thanks for the comment
I wondered what those dots were for! 👍🏻
@@CfTesla Thanks for the update, appreciate it!
Just stumbled across your channel. Great tips! Thanks. You have a new subscriber!
Right on thanks for the Sub! Do you have a Model 3?
Yes! SR+. Check out my instagram! sonic_the_tesla
super useful!
John Marshall thanks! Check out the other 2 in the series. Hopefully they are also as useful. Cheers
my wife and I love the scenery .. where or what area of the country are these videos being recorded. thanks, love your teaching videos but just wondering with the new voice command download, if these video are now redundant or more effort instead of just prompting by commands.
I’m not sure I understand your question about the voice command could you ask that again? The model Y looks awesome my wife may get it as well. Thanks for using my referral code!!! The family and I plan to take lots of road trips with the three little kids and that will help. Please keep coming back to the comments and ask anything you need!
We,re looking at Bonny lake are so I'm familiar with the area. . Love the climate. As for the voice commands, since your videos were made last month a new version at Christmas time now has voice activated commands. I'm on Facebook if you want to friend me as I'm gonna need some advice when we get the model Y. Great to chat with you and we like your in depth reports.
@@stevefrank733 My voice command video was recored only a few days ago. I recorded this video on update 2019.40.50.5 with all the latest voice commands. Bonny Lake is beautiful especially around Lake Tapps area. My biz partner lives on the island and loves it. Twitter is a much easier way to reach me than Facebook @cfTesal. My wife mostly uses my facebook page but you are certainly welcome to try there if that is easier for you. Just look up Cody Fair and you should find me.
Good video wish I found it before I figured it all out on my own.
On music you can also tap the top left cover art and does the same as the flick on the music icon.
Sweet another neat tip. Ill include your comment in the next tips video. Thanks!
pretty useful , two thumb up!!!

Cool. Thanks for these tips👍
Great information! Keep it going.
JCP In Deep Creek Lake thanks for the support!
That's hilarious bro! "Waiting for wife shopping can be a six to seven hour ordeal"
Stockholder and just put my reservation in for a Model Y TODAY!! I’ve been watching Ben Sullins (Teslanomics) and Gal of Hyperchange. They’re my favorites. I like the guy in Colorado as well, but don’t subscribe anymore to him. I see a few of the cute blonde from Georgia, again, it doesn’t seem must see. But, I like your presentation and the information has given my wife and I some ‘Ah-Hahs”’. BTW, cute kid!
Well I think we all Like Ben Sullins, lots of good stuff out there. I hope to someday earn a spot in your favorites. Keep your advice coming as to how and what makes a worthy channel. Ya my kids get it from their mother...Thanks
FYI if you push the volume wheel left or right you will change the channel or next/previous song.
Safeway...? Not Fred Meyer? :P Howdy from Maple Valley!
How you like the white seat thus far? easy to clean? worth it?
I would do it again. Check out my 15 month review of the white seats video: ruclips.net/video/CQHIn12bvwg/видео.html
