How to get CDL
- Just like a regular driver’s license in highschool you have to pass a written test to get a permit to start training
- There are 3 test you must study for (cdl,combination and air brakes) 50,25,20
- The easiest way to study is to memorize the answers, you can do this by downloading the app called cdl prep
- There you just take the practice test over and over and over again till you can speed through the test at lightning speed because you know all the answers, dont worry, the first few time you probably will get alot of answers wrong
- After you pass the clp test you then can do one of two things, you can go to a mini school (you pay) or go to a trucking company that has a school and get your cdl through them
- Before entering, you must pass a hair folicle and urine drug screen (weed stays in urine up to 30 days, hair follicle can trace back to 90 days. Best to wait if you been blowin gas lol :))
- PROS AND CONS OF MINI SCHOOL. Pros (dont have to pay 3-4 grand upfront, flexible with payments, school might be local, driving school is like a degree in the driving world)
- Cons (test might be a lil more difficult and strict, sum school only have manual trucks, you get taught a certain style of driving, certain companies might not hire due to no OTR driving experience)
- PROS AND CONS OF COMPANY SCHOOL.
- Pros(real time company driving style and experience, get hired immediately through company
- Cons (headquarters might be in another state, have to sign contract, only jobs available are otr, have seniority system, low pay)
-pass the driving test, pre trip, in cab
-go back to dmv and get upgrade
-now you are ready to look for work or start at company.
-OTR, REGIONAL, DEDICATED. (Solo vs Team)
- type of truck: freightliner, KW, volvo, MAC, international, peterbilt. Etc..
How to make $100,000 a year driving
Fedex.
Two ways, 6 months experience with a approved company with a certificate from driving school, or certificate from driving school and go through their training program(start with trainee pay)
-mind you, this is federal express, which means they do a FEDERAL back ground check
-federal express only requires a urine test drug screen.

My husband and i just got our cdl permit and we want to do Team driving but all this companies want a 1 year contract.How can we join fedex with no experience?

If You Give Them A call, What You Want To Ask Them Is Who They Approve As A School that will void that one year Experience requirement. I Believe since you don’t have one year, they will bring you on as a trainee for a specific period, then you become a full time driver.
