Don't underestimate them...they are powerful...even if you have a pint...it doesn't matter...still gear up!....to watch this brings back alot of memories....learning to ride was one of the most fun parts to this sport...the Journey is endless & it just gets better just stay safe & stay in your limits & raise the bar when your ready for it. Absolutely I did order a helmet and some protective gear, I was just to hyped learning this but i actually want to really get good at it like mentioned I want to be able to get some cool filmmaking shots riding this thing it was one of the reasons I want to learn but that turned into too much fun this thing is awesome i used to skate when I was younger but this right here it just way too much fun. My first board is Pint X, first week was afraid to step on it, nowadays I can’t stop thinking about riding it. Even when I am on e-bike on which I never have to worry about the foot fatigue.
2:51 the reason you're having trouble engaging the sensor is because of your foot placement IMO. your front foot is too close to the wheel. try messing around with the position of your front foot or moving a bit more forward. the shoes you have should be good but a pair of SB dunks mix pretty great with onewheels because they are so wide/flat

I have a bad habit of actually not using my foot closer to the front of the board like I would start there and then gradually go right back close to the wheel. @@zeeg928 Thanks Bud I appreciate that! definitely I would recommend some vans or any skateboard shoes, but also depends on the board pints are more Squirrley and a little difficult to learn and handle because of the roundness of the tire and how the board is small. That’s why an XR and up helps with more stability being that tire is more flat and wider.

I think some of your engagement trouble is because your front foot is a fair way back when you hop on. Try placing your foot further forward.
