thank you to the anchor for mentioning having cash reserves. I admire her perserverence tremendously, but she is clearly in a very well positioned financial place, and that does contribute to more than alot of her success, and ability to take chances.
Remarkable considering what it must have cost in Paris and the French bureaucracy slowing everything down. PS there are lots of French people all over France who offer courses to tourists in English. They can be found in via the local tourist bureau or on Trip Advisor.
Truth - We all have to eat. European food culture is far richer than the US. And the food perspective is healthier. As a US and European citizen, I have heard so many stories of people gaining weight on US food and getting thin on European food
really? I find the American food culture to be more interesting. It's a place where you can combine Korean and Mexican food and make revolutionary art. The beloved Tex-mex cuisine are just two examples. We have older mergings such as Italian American or Chinese American and it's borne of the immigrant experience as they adapted to America. We have different cultures and different infrastructures. Neither one is necessarily inferior. It's all a matter of what our preferences are. I like traveling the world via the cuisines of the world. It shows how different cultures look at food and how they use these ingredients. It's quite fascinating. I mean, the French may have technique but have you seen the precision of a Chinese kitchen or a Japanese kitchen?
@@jenniferhunter4074Yeah, I absolutely agree. America has a lot of fusion foods and it has given rise to some long standing unique food cultures of its own such as Cajun food. I actually gained weight in Europe as opposed to losing it. While olive oil is full of healthy fat in my own home cooking I use it, and most fats, sparingly. Being near the Mediterranean I ate a ton of olive oil. Since that was so drastically different than my usual diet I gained weight despite the increase in walking. I was also rather surprised at how homogeneous food culture could be in Europe whereas in America people seek out foreign foods and fusion foods. Again, like you said these are different cultures and I completely agree that one isn’t inherently better than another. I do think there are things Americans could benefit from in the European diet but many of those changes also require more lifestyle changes as well since what Americans eat is often tied to class and the poor work-life balance we all have to contend with relative to European lifestyle.
Being a baker in France is very restrictive because of the guilds and laws. Which means fantastic bakers have left there for other parts of the world where they can be creative.
I've bookmarked her school and will probably attend it in the future with a friend! I was going to buy her audiobook but she didn't narrate it herself, which is disappointing. (They chose a man; odd choice.) Bisou, bisou. 💋
I kind of follow the culinary world and as a French I never heard of her. I have no doubt that she is successful but to the point of calling her a star in the culinary world is exaggerated.
So she's got a bunch of knowledgeable French cooks working for her, and banking knowledge behind her. Good for her, but she's one of hundreds doing this without the benefit of cash. She's not exactly a unicorn.

She has true American spirit, we don't always know what we're doing but we'll just figure it out as we go!!!! American Ingenuity!!!
Her persistence is to be admired!!!
With a banker's experience she funded a business successfully. Imagine that.
The horror on her face when he licked his finger 😂😂 “ are you insane?” I think was the exact thought 🫣
I’ve taken several classes here over the last 10 years and always have a blast.
We took a class a few years ago and loved it. Improved my choux so much that I now make for gatherings of hundreds.
What a great video and story!!!!
Smart woman who had an idea no one thought to do before.
Video title wrong but technically still accurate. American ‘Banker’ turned ‘Baker’
I Love her book…wish I’d had it day 1 after my move from NYC.
"What does that mean?" -- How much clearer could she have been??? BRAVO, JANE!!!
Voila ?! C’est superb Jeff!!! Jeff! I love this and love her story❤❤❤❤
Good for you💫
👏👏👏 Bravo! 🍽
I took a class there and loved it ❤
Thank you for the message God bless you and your family 💖💙🕊️🙏
Reading the novel now 😃 it's wonderful

I know, right? This whole concept doesn't seem that unusual or original...
Im definitely doing research to attend her class in France. It'll be my excuse to leave Texas for a little while 🥰🥰🥰🥰🎂🎂🍰🍰
Lovely story
I'm in!🤩
Look at the color difference in the veggies and fruit!
Je l adore ! Yes first be a banker to save cash then go have the life 😂

Kisskiss, ok?
Terrific story! (Is it me, or did Jeff Glor seem like he just didn't want to be there?)
It’s you. Assume away.🙄
I’m French and I don’t know what the hell is that orange juice legend…

American immigrant, not expat...
So ... An American teaching the French what they taught her, right?
Needs to tone down her lipstick 💄
