Brian … I just replaced the camera on my wife’s 2014 300. Your video was incredibly helpful! The issue with her car was exactly as with yours: no guidelines in the camera view and reversed image. Again, I am very grateful for your video!
I watched Brian's video several times before doing the job. Everything went well, no surprises. Saved a few hundred bucks, took about an hour. Thank you, Sir.
Thank you so much for this video! You saved me $800 and that would not have fixed the problem! The dealership was going to put in a new radio, not a new back up camera
Thanks for the video. The dealership was going to charge me $500 to replace. Ordered off Ebay for $91. The plastic panel rivets cost $9 @ o'Reilly. *Arizona heat disclaimer * It gets so hot that the rubber gasket fused to the light. Had to pry off with screwdriver. Some small breaks in lip of light. I think it will be alright.
Thanks for the info! Dealership and a few mechanics wanted to to charge me from 900-1300$ to fix...ihad the same issue as you. Ordered a cam from eBay for $95 and installed myself🙌
Appreciate your video. So, I have a base model 2012 with 8.4 uconnect display and I want to install a backup camera. I will get a oem third brake light w/camera off of ebay. Do I need to use a Tazer to activate the backup camera function?
is there wire that goes to the radio? or do you just hook it up in back. this stereo shop wants $125.00 he said There's a wire that goes to the radio 🤔
I have the same issue with mine. Mechanic told me OEM will cost around $800 and non-OEM around $400. I think I am not gonna get it fix from them, buy from amazon or something, and do it by myself. It looks like this issue is very common and systematic. They should have recalled the camera and replace all that have this issue.
Hey mate. Thanks for the upload its really helpful.. and is it possible for u to get me the link for buying this same camera as well. Coz its being hard for me to buy online there are heaps of options, aint sure which one to go for.

@@rmoldafsky You can replace camera without removing entire housing. I just did mine. I did remove the entire trunk lid liner and got it out of the way. Easy to do. just did everything up to the part at 3:00 Cant remove the earth (green and yellow) wire socket from its housing. Really annoying, cos it means it dangles the whole time while unmounting the camera and re-fitting the new one

Will this fix if when I put in reverse my screen goes black when I put into drive my screen is fine and all controls work ?
It's hard to say unless a diagnostic is done.
Yep will fix
Do u have the part number for camera i been looking just want to make sure i buy the right part
Unfortunately i do not have the part number. I suggest you take the Vin number to your dealership and they can provide the correct part number
Man, I’m having a really difficult time getting my new camera to plug in to the power connection. I checked and the old & new ones are identical
Try connecting the old one back in. If the old one connects then you have a bad connector on the new camera
Were do you buy the backup camera from
Amazon has em
Do it suppose to make a sound when reversing and where do I get the part from and what's it called
You can search for the backup camera on eBay or Amazon. price varies but here is the part number 56054058AH
Your camera should not be making any noise when you put the car in reverse
Does this work with replacing the whole trunk with a camera if u didn’t have a Camera already but have Uconnect?
Not sure. You can add the 3rd brake light with the camera but wiring and compatability with your system is not certain
