Fear Campaign is the first official music video from Fear Factory's album 'Mechanize'.
The music video was directed by the team of Ian McFarland and Mike Pecci for Boston-based, Emmy-nominated Killswitch Productions. It was filmed in Los Angeles with additional photographic elements and all post production completed in Boston.
In an interview with Revolver magazine, McFarland and Pecci revealed details about the video's themes and creation. "Burton is an extremely creative person and he had some very specific visuals in mind," says Pecci. "He said that he wanted to bombard the audience with rapid images that supported his lyrics. His direction was 'fast and intense with loads of subliminal images and symbols.' With that, Ian and I went to the drawing board and started our normal process of deconstructing an idea and rebuilding it from the ground up."
"Our goal was to make a video that was inspired by all those really cool stock footage, '90s music videos, but rather than using stock footage of the atrocities of the world, we decided to shrink those things down to single images and objects that can be identified as the tools used to create those problems," adds McFarland.

Mechanise is such a killer album. Lots of people seem to think that FF dropped off after Obsolete/Demanufacture - but there are so many great songs and albums after then - Digimortal is great fun, Archetype is superb, Mechanise is possibly one of their best, Genexus also is top tier - and Aggression Continuum has some great tracks.
I never understand people who stick with one album from an artist, when there are so many other great ones...

Classic FF. Mechanize is a great album. Burton hasn't sounded this angry since obsolete.
I would say he sounded more angry at some moments on Archetype! The whole album is more melodic, anda bit more "soft" at all, but in some parts Burton shouted his ass off while the break-down-parts. I mean that last scream of "Can you see?" on the song Archtype is the craziest shout he ever did, more than any shout from Obsolete, for example. And there are some other moments close like this. At all Obsolote is on an angrier level at all, but Archetype win that in peaks particular. That's one reason why I like it more, the power-moments kicks me so damn hard, comming from nothing! This and also some other rasons is why Archetype is the only FF-album which can reach to Demanufacture, imo. And this both are the only FF-albums I never thinking about to skip a song.

I have to say, it's great to see Fear Factory still going strong. Dino Cazares plays a pretty good guitar solo in this song. And Burton Bell's death growl and melodic singing are amazingly top notch. Burton sounds like a baritone-style version of Rob Halford when he sings melodically. And that's a compliment.
He sounds hilarious after a show, I dont know how his voice bounces back because he kills it every time lol

Still coming back to this album in 2018. Its grown on me and its now my favorite FF production ever. From drums to guitars... every aspect is sublime polish.

Настолько сочный и чёткий звук, реально металлический, на предыдущих альбомах глушили тарелки в угоду бас бочкам, тут и тарелки и бас бочки звучат одинаково здорово. Да и вообще "mehanize" для меня лучший альбом, после великого demanufacture. Первые пять песен на нем просто чумовые. Разнообразные рифы, в меру электроники, короче классика.
Потому что в этом альбоме Джин Хоглан, "Атомные Часы". Я начал слушать фабрику именно с этого альбома, когда он вышел в 2010-м. Согласен, один из лучших альбомов.
