Yes for sure thanks so much RUclips! I was like too young to see these but now to see them is just wonderful... I was and still am a big "Split Enz" fan but of course the later day version was all I knew before... poor me... :D Great, amazing, theatrically, madly beautiful! :)
@philjudd -please hold on Phil-so many are pulling for you-I'm way over here in Louisiana praying for your strength-your words and music mean so much to many of us-we're with you!!
There's only one Phil Judd. His playing on Mental Notes was/is epic. The first track here I've never seen before today.......utterly magically sonically wonderful.
This is brilliant! I've never seen footage of these costumes before. You are a legend. ...good Lord, *what* people would've thought upon seeing the Enz for the first time...lol...
absolute classic, enz at there best and then the beautiful no bother to me. seen them in 1976 at the festival theatre supporting Ayers Rock but most were there for the enz
I do apologize, i am a great long time fan of your father. It was written as a term of endearment i assure you. Your father had his own style on stage back then. There is nothing Like the early Split Enz Material anywhere. Be very Proud of him..
If you're wondering where bassist Mike Chunn is on "Maybe," he's nowhere to be seen. That's because "Mental Notes" producer Dave Russell played it on the recording; Chunn found the bass line too difficult to tackle.
Yep i assume this is from 1975 because thats when the Enz's first album: "Mental Notes" came out that year. Very much ahead of their time despite the dodgy black & white footage!
Still the most "different" band I ever saw live but they had a great show and some great songs especially One Step Ahead which had a very cool feel to it.
they went to Europe 12 months after they went to Australia! they failed miserably! it took them 4 years after that to go back to Australia and record their break-through album "True Colours". Aussie Aussie AUSSIE!
phil judd is so underappreciated - it's pathetic - amazing artist.
it's so lovely to see Phil happy and still there with those who loved him.

I seen them live at the Kerrisdale arena, Vancouver in 1982.I remember it well, definitely one of the best shows I have ever seen.
That Wild Beautifull Falsetto of the "Mad" Phil Judd. Golden stuff. RUclips is wonderfull
Oh this is absolutely brilliant ❤
i have such the crush on phil judd. swoon!
+uncannydani he was a brilliant frontman. some fantastic vocals from Phil/Tim here.
What a Band they were. In their early days, more innovative than the Beatles, And i am a Beatles Fan.
Such Lasting Melodies and time signatures.
absolute classic, enz at there best and then the beautiful no bother to me. seen them in 1976 at the festival theatre supporting Ayers Rock but most were there for the enz
The live vocals here sound better than the record!
Holy smoke! This made my month! Classic treasure footage!

Phil had this band in the bag!.
What wonderful memories - thanks so much for this!

holy crap just found this comment! dont know 'no bother to me'. like this '74-76 enz alot.
Chunn!!!!!
Very cool vintage Enz!
Oh wow! This is soo great!
Thanks soo much for puttin this up!!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was very small..the smallest headbanger in the family
Its a shame they dropped Wally Wilkinson (the bloke with the moustache and glasses) after 1975; he was one experimental guitarist!!!

Greatest thing ever. Thank you for posting.
Mr Phudd looked creepy even then

totally nuts about 10 years ahead plus they needed better PR fo' sho'.
I think this is when my eldist cousins kidnapped me and taught me every Sid vicious song..ohh the early punk yrs
Even though I'm a bigger fan of the New Wave/Neil Finn era, the old school stuff isn't so bad either.
This is quite old, huh? Video trouble/deterioration and all... but great find!!!
Слишком тупой комментарий.
Какой же красивый носик у Фила Джадда!🤤😍
The enz really did waste there talent going to australia, there place in music, there songs, there audience surely was in europe.

Dressing up like clowns really hurt this band early on.
