Good review buddy. They are phenomenal basses. I have a '93 NT pretty much the same as yours except no volute and mine has side LED's. It's my go to bass. I also have a '91 Steamer Stage 1. Another great Warwick.

June 1st 2021, just had my Thumb delivered a couple of days ago, and I haven't been able to put it down.
I cannot believe I spent two decades hating on Warwicks...any and all of them!
I guess it only took playing my first one to completely convert me.
I now own 5, two of which are Masterbuilds.

Great video pointing out the features of the thumb. Didn't answer my search for a fix for neck dive though, I enjoyed it anyway.
I have a bolt on Thumb fretless. I get neck dive, not a lot, but enough to cause pain in my left shoulder. love the bass. It was a 2001 limited edition fretted bass. some idiot tore all the frets out and didn't finish the neck properly. I had it fixed and it plays beautifully now.
They are an awesome bass. I also have two corvettes, both B/O, my first is a $$ with the thick neck, the other is a white corvette fretless standard B/O with the thin neck. This white corvette is my favourite at the moment, better balanced and feels great .

Warwicks are my favorite instruments of all time. My number one bass is a 1994 Streamer Stage II 5-string. Feels like an extension of my body. The natural wood in my hands, the heavy resonant body. All of these things make Warwicks truly amazing! Sounds like you're discovering all the awesome attributes to being a Warwick owner including being able to email the man the myth the legend HP himself! Love yours man. Cheers. Also P.S. I'd strongly recommend a brass JAN 3! You'll notice a tonal difference.

Completely agree that Thumb is the best bass ever. Body shape, tone, versatility. Piece of art for sure. I used to play the BO, 2001 version. Just amazing. Thanks for the video. Wish to hear more your sound samples ;-)

Bought a 1986 JD Thumb from a ‘bargain bin’ in either NJ or CT years ago. I restored it to original specs and Hans-Peter Wilfer sent me a newly drawn schematic for the MEC preamp/EQ. Great company, excellent basses.

Hey man I'm 5"8 too and I play a 2011 GPS Streamer 4 string, I dont have mine up by my chest not low by any means, I have the contour sitting on my hip and its the most comfortable instrument I've ever played. As for the neck, I made sure it had a thin profile because I have pretty small hands too. The tilt angle doesn't need to be particularly steep to be able to play the lower frets comfortably, I think the horn length has something to do with this.
Anyway I still want a Thumb!

That's a beautiful bass! I'm usually more into Fender/Music Man type basses (not necessarily those brands but the classic style). But I always had a sweet-spot for Warwick. Not only because my roots are close to where they're made, I love so much more about them. The distinctive sound, the craftsmanship, and the original style that stands out but doesn't look flashy. They feel awesome and they work for so many different styles of music but still keep their own strong and distinctive character. It's _the_ Warwick bass in my opinion, and yours is one of the most beautiful examples. Thanks for sharing!

Warwicks are the best! I’ve had a 2004 corvette standard BO for a while now and it’s the best sounding and feeling bass I’ve ever played, only gripe with it was the passive mec electronics were not good and the pickups are noisy even in parallel, they sound good tho after I completely resoldered new pots and a different cap for the tone pot lol, what I’ve found is just messing with the balance of the pickups can really bring the bass forward in a mix, cutting the volume of the bridge pickup a little gives the bass a throaty sound really good for pick playing and cutting the neck gives you a barky growly tone with lots of punch

that's what she said..Bro, the Warwick basses are the first bass that I played in a shop, 30 foggin years ago and the acoustic tone and the resonance went right to my soul. At the time I couldn't justify the price tag but it was "I HAVE TO HAVE ONE OF THESE!"-moments in my bass playing life. Switch to changes in life happening, I walk into a used-shop, happens to be a Rock Bass in there, wasn't quite right but reminded me of the TONE., Long-short, I bought a '98 Corvette and a Robert Trujillo Streamer. But you know what I am talking about when I say, when the string vibrates, I VIBRATE, I can Feel it. For my own brief review of the Rock Bass: Na-ah. Nice bass, good tone but didn't touch what the '98 does. Getchoo1.
