We close on our home on Tuesday and I’m so damn excitedddd!!! My husband and I are 22 and 23 with a toddler and one on the way. I’m so grateful to be able to get a house and have a stable home for our kids! Also I can’t wait to paint everything whatever colors I want lol!

I’m learning at a young age how to be free with money (not necessarily rich but not having to constantly worry about money) because seeing how much my parents dealt with it makes me wanna invest, save and spend money wisely:)

I bought a house in October last year and it was an insane process with how quick the market is right now. We ended up with the house we really wanted even after being told someone waived the inspection, we thought that meant they'd pick that offer. We were so excited when we found out we got it. We've had loads of issues so far though, our furnace decided to stop working on a Saturday during the winter and it was super expensive to fix. Then we discovered a major leak in our bathroom with really bad water damage because the previous owners put a screw through a pipe 🙃 just make sure to have extra savings on hand just in case.
Wow - I'm so impressed by how resourceful you are! I'm turning 30 in December and would love to buy a house in the next 5 years. It's cool to see someone so young that lives in the NYC area find home near their family! I would love to do the same thing. Thank you for the inspiring, informative content!!

This is great! I was thinking of buying a house soon but was advised by family and my bf not to soon. My plan is to have passive income after buying and remodeling at least 2 houses, then go from there 🥰

Another example like the house market is how much debt most dutch students end up in bc of student loans after they finish college.....which also makes u less eligible to apply for a loan at the bank ik you even wanna attempt to buy a house in the future 🤡 theyll be like nah get that 20000 euro student loan outta the way first and then we'll see if we give u money😅

If you are gonna live for a short period then just rent. But if you saved a lot of money for buy a home or if ur parents are kinda rich to buy a home for u then u r lucky. I have a home in my country but as I moved to another country, first im gonna rent. Not sure about to sell my home as the country where im living now dolar is better so I could buy a home and a car with money of my home. 🤔
So you pay for the house and for your appartment in NYC at the same time? Wow!
actually you could have put the entire amount thatt you are eligible for in your retirement account. Then pay your house and nott gett taxed on that amount.
You don't need to talk to only one agent. That's what they tell you because they don't want your business to go somewhere else. Once you've talked to a couple then choose one that you will house hunt with. Someone who didn't pressure you and deserves your business.
That dream is hard to achieve in Toronto, with houses pricing up to the millions :/
What happens if you end up wanting to move into a different house during your 30 year payment plan? Would you be able to sell the house to afford the new one?
i could either sell or rent out my place whenever i decide to move to a different house!! selling it would allow me to buy another one, although the process might take longer ✨

in some cities here in germany you wouldn't even get a small flat for 250k damn
it really varies depending on the state/region, and its much more spread out than europe/cities
where im from you really cant get anything for 250k because its considered a suburb on a large city

I don't think it's dumb to not invest in stocks for example because it depends on your plan. If you have a short time horizon because you're going to invest in a house early aged and you need the money therefore it's better to not invest in the stock market. The stock market could have easily gone downwards in that short period of time and it would be dumb than if you had to sell shares to have cash.

are the houses cheap in maryland, i just dont see how a college student would have enough money for a down payment. Between student loans and trying to afford food, I just don't see that happening
In comes the idea of privilege! I know nothing of the person in this video but there are plenty of people who go to college without ever needing to take out student loans, pay for rent, or even food! When parents are able to *fully* fund their child's college experience, that child can theoretically be in excess of over $100k in comparison to students who had to take out loans every year, pay for their own rent, etc. Just the ability to save all of the money made during summer internships is insane!
I'd say houses aren't too cheap in MD, but definitely much better than big cities! while i didn't have the luxury of a financially stable background growing up, I did go to a school that gave me full financial aid all 4 years and that allowed me to graduate without any student loans. I also saved a lot on rent by living at home during the pandemic (~$25k that I would've spent on renting in NYC), and have been working as a software engineer since graduating. it's definitely not everyone's situation, but I was fortunate enough to save up because of my school's generous aid policy. What Jackie says is definitely common too though, there are kids who have a lot of financial privilege and are able to do the same without as much debt because of their family - it was different for me but I hope this provides some insights!! ❤️

I wish :( I'm 23 and my hubby is 28 and we live just south of Toronto. The averge home price in out town is 1.2 million.... you can't even get a 2 bed starter townhouse for under 500k here...
Would love to save up a down payment but our rent is $2700/month for a 2 bed basement..... -.-

Work in your teens and early 20s and save save save while having low expenses. You can't expect to save money when you don't have a job and you're spending money you don't have.
Why didn’t you get an attorney. You also needed a certified home inspector. I hope you got title insurance and added all insurance into your monthly mortgage.

Can you explain to me why it Takes 30years to pay for the House? Salary ist around 150k -200k , right?
@@LikeFunnyMovies Bc a mortgage is usually paid off in 30 years even though she makes a lot a lot of it comes out as expenses
