The seats in my V6 has been modified with removal of foam etc from the seat to allow you to sit in it rather than on top of it....the How to...is on AlfaOwner; I never realised until I drove another one at a meet, could never understand why everyone hated the seats. Mine has a Q2 and GTA clutch and flywheel feels like it spins up quicker and the Q2 means power down whenever it's needed with no torque steer, fully polybushed and a bespoke cat back exhaust.
it doesn't share the suspension with the 155. Front subframe is the same, rear is a unique, fully independent subframe with passive steering. And yes, the phase 2 seats are horrible. Nice to look at but that's about it. Take the electronically adjusted ones, they are perfect.
You are right. It does only share the front suspension with the 155. I forgot to mention that. The rear suspension is unique and I think I have never seen a suspension like that on any other regular production car. It is very ingenious, but probably also the reason why the luggage compartment is so small.
@3:26 V6 is not "a lot heavier" than the 4 cilinders: difference is about 45kgs which does next to nothing to the weight distribution on a car which weighs around 1360kgs! The 916 biggest problem is it's high weight in general. A 145/146/147/155/156 which have the same platform all weigh around 1200kgs.. Something went wrong when AR developed a sporty Coupe & Spider on it...
Could it be that the extra kgs in the V6 are a bit more to the front of the GTV? The engine is bigger because of the two cylinder rows and seems to be stick out a bit more forward because of its size. Those few extra kgs on that exact place before the front axle, could be the reason of the V6 version feeling heavier on the front side of the car. Nonetheless it still steers sharper than the average Audi.
@@SoontobeClassics Well, that is true of course, but the difference is very small: 61% vs 63% on the front. The difference is mostly in the peoples mind: that huge V6 (all aluminium) vs the little 4 cilinder (iron engine block). 😉
@@SoontobeClassics 45kgs heavier over all. This is not exclusive to the engine has some of the other chassis components are more heavy duty on the V6. to suit its 155mph top speed. some of this is unsprung and rotating mass, drive shafts, larger disks, hubs etc which changes the feel. The fuel tank is very heavy on these and mounted in quite an upright position to assist with the balance of the car.
A little hack for the seating position : i'm 1m93, and i took off the spacers under the seat rails, it makes a great difference! Nice video, too! 🇫🇷🇮🇹
Thanks for the tip! That could make it a lot better for me as well.
The fastest GTV is 3.2 V6, not 3.0 V6. Amazing video 👍
Wow.. another superb video.. thanks man..
Thanks Yulius!
great video congratulations
Less music, more gtv!
Love the gtv, great vid
Thanks!

Wow, it seems you have done a couple of very desirable mods!
Keep up the good work!

Plus the fuel tank (+ battery and some other stuff) is in between rear seats and trunk. Ph1 seats are horrible too.
@@SoontobeClassics multilink suspension were used for Porsche 993
thinking about getting one right now
You will not regret it.
Rear suspension is completely different to Alfa 155.
That blower motor…. Lol.
