Thank you! I have a 60s coat pattern that I'm going to be making. This has helped a so much! I use your tutorials a lot when I can't understand the sewing pattern.
I have been sewing for a long time and I love to watch your vids for construction refreshers!! Your camera work is excellent and your nails are lovely...
I really like the look of these bound buttonholes. I'm planning to use this technique this week because I think they will look great with large buttons.
Hello I have an old singer treadle machine and it doesn't do buttonholes this video is so good now I can make garments with buttons thank you so much for a Easy to follow instructions
I actually was wondering how to deal with the lining. Your tutorials are really great, simple to understand even for a non native English speaker as I am. Well done! I like that you go slowly when you saw so I don't fell dumb when I don't go full speed on my machine. Nice to see it's ok to go at the pace you're comfortable with (or the one you need to go to support the explanations) ;) Maybe this would also work for a "bound pocket" ? :) Again a BEEG THANK YOU for your work. I searched the whole internet and it confused me more and more. Finally i get a to learn in simple steps how to do the bound buttonhole fewwwww :) Thank you sooo much. :)
I was actually confused about one thing, this buttonhole is made once the garment is complete then how do you neaten up the back of the buttonholes? do we add one whole piece of facing at the end to hide up everything?
for the bound buttonhole, you actually do it towards the beginning of garment construction, not at the end. The second part of this tutorial, starting around time 8:20, I go over how to deal with the back of the buttonhole, should you have a lining or facing that covers the back. I hope this helps :)

Thanks so much! I'm glad you found our tutorial helpful. It would be a similar process for things like welt pockets :)
I finally understand what the sewing books are trying to explain!!!!!!
I totally understand. I'm a visual learner myself and sometimes you need someone to just show you. Thanks for watching! :)
YES! Sometimes a description just doesn't cut it😬! I will rewatch this many more times before I dare try this.
Thank you! I'm just refreshing my sewing skills.
Beautifully explained
Thank you for this video. I finally know how to do the interfacing part! GREAT video.
This method works for pockets as well, just make 'em bigger.

Perfect! Thank you, and nice nails!
a great teacher. Thank you
Thank you
omg.... a bound buttonhole is just a double welt pocket for your button (with no pocket bag). Mind blown.
Thank you so much for this video I am hoping to do bound button holes in my 1840s bodice I'm making that will be doing up in the front.
Debbie Buckland That's going to look so nice! :)
They look a bit more sturdy as well, I find that my button hole program on my machine looks a bit messy,
I agree. You can't get any nicer than a bound buttonhole :)
THANK YOU!
good..thankyou...
Best example I could find and I still screwed it up
😭
love those nails
Thanks😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
//...nice nails .!!!...Madam...
Would be easier to hand sew rather than use a machine
I don't know if it's easier. it'll just take longer
Nice tutorial .. Thank you. Cute nails, but distracting.
Your mail polish is very distracting...
tacky fingernails are distracting. I had to stop and go back to watch again because the fingers would come zooming in..yike
