    2.50 MFD is best capacitor for both old 75/ Watt Fans & New Energy Saving 50/Watt Fans. 3.15 MFD Capacitor Gives Good Speed But Burns The Winding

    Very very informative & formula provided by you is really nice to determine actual capacitor. My all fans contain 2.5 MFD & now wish to experiment with one by changing with 3.15 MFD & watch it's RPM change.

      Don't do it. Motor of your fan will get Hot 🔥🥵 and then burn out.

      It's better to invest in a voltage stabilizer which will safeguard all your house equipments such as fridge,washing machine A.C., microwave,TV etc etc.

      @@chantara8458 but, I run the fan with capacitor 3.15 mfd for hardly 1.5 hours daily & while installed the said capacitor, i poured 30 dropds of machine oil in bearing to minimise rotational friction. My ceiling fan is of Crompton made. Let's see how long it runs.

      @@gopisen4645 Usage of 1.5 hrs /day !! Then it might be ok. But for ordinary folks who use 10 to 12 hrs a day and don't have the expertise to oil the bearing. I think they are better off not to take such a risk.

    Bhai main khud electrical engineer hoon isliye ek baat batana chahta hu ki ceiling fan ke liye sabse best value ki capacitor hai 2.25 jo company se ceiling fan mein lagkar aati hai after market 2.25 mfd capacitor nahi milta 2.50 ka milta hai jo 0.25 % jyada hota hai aise mein agar 2.25 ka capacitor kabhi kharab hota hai to 2.50 mfd ka laga sakte ho isse pehle ke muqable speed 0.25 % jyada milegi aur ceiling fan kharab bhi nahi hoga lekin agar 3.15 mfd ya 4.0 mfd ka capacitor lagate ho to ceiling fan bahut jyada heat ho jayega jiske kaaran fan ka coil insulation jal jayega aur body mein current aane ke karan shot circuit ho jayega jiske karan motor winding puri tarah kharab ho jayegi isliye aap logo se guzarish hai ki 2.50 mfd se jyada ka capacitor ceiling fan mein na lagaye agar fan ki speed thodi kam ho jaati hai to fan a blade ko check kare puri tarah tight hai ya nahi blade loose hone ke karan bhi pankhe ki speed kam hoti hai aur pankhe ka chaal bhi dekhe puri tarah free hai ya nahi

      I have a Standard fan made by havells and the capacitor is 2.25uf/mfd VAC is 500. Replacement available is 2.5mfd but 440VAC. Will this be a problem ? Looking forward to a reply. Thanks

    compan set capacitor 2.25 mfd of the fan has been runnin for 10 year .voltage low 180-220 high.after 10 years can i use 2.5 mfd oil filled havells/tibcon capacitor now?
