Spoiler alert: I'm pretty glad they didn't go for the obvious twist of the main character being a fake. The actual ending implying that they might've gotten his mother was far more chilling for me.

I would welcome a part two to find out what the protagonists next move would be and to find out more information about the creatures. (Not too much info though. How was it possible for him to find his keys and phone just outside the bar? The doppelganger used it to text Alex's mother, who saw the doppelganger outside her home. So, did the doppelganger kill Alex's mother, then go back to the bar and die?
I like the concept of this story I just don't think it was done justice. I mean our main character is so stupid throughout most of it it made it hard for me to sympathize or get invested. I was put off by the lamenting the violence of humanity in the bar, as the MC ignores his own violence towards his doppelganger, not to mention that three of these things tried to kill him and Pat's doppelganger would've killed everyone in the bar if it could. And why does no one listen to the warnings? Seriously the whole story would've ended in the first paragraph if people would stop opening their door to 'loved ones', or inviting people over.
As an extremely forgiving talkative people person who loves their friends, I'm getting robbed at least 10 times. Maybe multiple times by the same person.
Chilling, super creepy story! The basic trope is asking what would you do during a sudden supernatural disaster (zombie apocalypse, alien invasion, etc.) But I seriously have to say, the protagonist is not very bright. All hell is breaking loose around him, the tv stations are off the air, and he has already seen some bizarre imposter at his door----and what is he doing? is he barricading his doors and windows, finding a weapon? No. He is calmly making dinner and inviting a friend over to play board games!!! And the friend he has invited has already given him reason to doubt her. And he is astonished when she turns out to be a deadly imposter! One of the things that intrigue me about the "shelter in place" disaster is that fact that that the vast majority of houses and apartments are not actually built well enough to secure or prepare to withstand attackers. For example, in most apartments, you might have a solid door, but the walls are nothing but plasterboard. Anyone determined enough, and with the use of a crowbar or axe could break right through the walls from the hallway. And houses? How secure is your door really? Would it withstand someone attacking it? And how about your ground floor windows? How would you keep anyone from breaking in? Our secure homes are not really all that secure. Actually the pub that they take shelter in would be a good bet for safety. Heavy doors and walls, secure locks, steel shutters, and probably firearms in the building. A chilling ending, with no real resolution or explanation. It would make complete sense that the imposters, whatever they are, would make use of people's phones to target people who knew them. People would be sitting ducks. But I would have wanted a bit more at the end of the story. What is the condition of the rest of the country? Is this happening across the world? With cellphones and laptops you have access to the internet, and can find out what is happening even if the local tv station has been overrun. Is the disaster still happening or has it stopped? We are left to wonder.
Unless Tom's an imposter himself I'm not sure how he helped the real Pat and didn't notice there was an imposter Pat with them. Unless Pat was referring to a different imposter at the time since it's been stated that there's been multiple imposters among the crowd. Best I can think of is that Tom assumed he killed the imposter and left Pat to collect himself and didn't realize that the imposter was still alive, or that there was another they didn't account for when this happened.
Here's an interesting scenario: what if you had someone take a nap, wake up, find out this sort of thing (instructions and all) all played out while they were asleep, then when they noticed the deadline was passed they decided to go out to see what had happened. Seeing naught but a bunch of weirdness, they try putting together what must have happened.
after waching this i got a amber alert ( this is an alert in the US that is to inform the public about dangers in the vasinity ex: landslide or to inform the public about ubducsions or somthing) and it skared me for about 20 seconds before i relised it was not related to the story... or was it?
I know everyone probably says this but you are by far my favorite narrator, the others are good too but it seems like they can be so monotone and almost like they're reading directions. Not you though you are such a good voice actor and THAT really conveys the seriousness or comedy of the situation in whatever is going on in the story. Thanks for the years of stories so far and to the ones ahead.
Interesting question. My natural state is C anyway (having friends over is for people with leisure time, I assume), however I also work at a news station. Very unique one tonight... I tried to save this for bedtime but failed miserably...knocked it out already. Anticipation is too strong for these notifications! Thank you Stephen...amazing as always!
Fantastic!! But then, anything by this man is fantastic!! I love getting to know all the vocalizations, nuances, accents & even different pitch, paces & timbre that all somehow coalesce into another gorgeous, thrilling tapestry of story! And it sure made hanging the Christmas lights up on this cold, bitter afternoon a little more entertaining!! 🌲🎄⛄🎅
Bro that notification scared me for a sec
God every time I’m like 24 minutes for just audio, idk about that. Then I end up watching the whole thing and loving the ever living hell out of the story. Just so good!! I wish you had a podcast with all the story’s so I don’t have to use RUclips and could download the story’s. Also honestly at the end I thought he was a imposter I didn’t realize it, but no poor mom 😢
i love the way these stories are
not scary in the loud noice part
the thrill makes ur heart race and the calm narrator voice is a chef's kiss
its like if u were put in the situation
This would really suck. I bet dogs would be a big help, though. Luckily, I have 3 with me right now, and they say that there are no wrong people nearby to worry about.
Spoiler alert:
I'm pretty glad they didn't go for the obvious twist of the main character being a fake. The actual ending implying that they might've gotten his mother was far more chilling for me.
Glad to catch this excellent work as always Stephen
Bro… NEVER stop narrating these stories. I’m serious. They cure my boredom. Absolutely amazing work man!
I’ve never EVER wished for a protagonist to be tortured and killed before. So much stupidity it’s making me furious! Oh my gosh.
This was a real good idea for a story. It had the feel of a zombie apocalypse story with a unique twist. I would welcome a part two to find out what the protagonists next move would be and to find out more information about the creatures. (Not too much info though. I recommend keeping them somewhat mysterious)😉👌
Its like invasion of the bodysnatchers
Wouldn't let anyone in, but would call loved ones and let them know what was going on and pray they wouldn't think it was some kind of joke. Really got me crying after he seen text from his mom. As my parents have passed 😢 😪 I don't know if I could keep from going and checking on them!
Hands down, your best work to date.
Your reading is becoming so emotive...
I see I'm early enough to see everyone liked their own comments
It’s no different than touching oneself.
go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.
Morale of the story: Put a dam Lockscreen on yo phone people!
Amazing as always. Keep up the great work!
Best Emergency Alert story I have heard in AGES!!! Thank you, LH♡
Yeah!!! The has been a long long day... and I was totally laying in my bed half asleep and I hear.. ding...(my special tone I have set to notify me when LIGHTHOUSE HORROR posts) And I got up grabbed a beer and turned up the volume!!! Your the best Stephen!!!
I keep trying to find other narrators to tide me over till you update. Nobody can even come close to how perfectly you tell a story.
Your use of different voices is getting next level! The best i know
and i listened to audio books the last 20 years, so i heard several storytellers.
I love me some lighthouse horror stories
hey Alex!
Has this guy never sern a horror movie before? You never let anyone in when there's clone murderers out and about
When 'pat' went "let me in, let me in, let me in!" i immediately thought of that meme that goes "Let me in, LET ME INNNNNNNN!"
I love how deranged you sound when imposter Pat is yelling to be let in.
Aw! Not Mom! Well sheesh. We definitely need more installments of this one now.
Great story, superb narration, as always.
Love the lighthouse horror, so upped his game, BTW I seen your little cameo 2 weeks ago or so. Handsome devil
Yay! Listening to another great narration from L.H. perfect time for ending my night! Thank you!
Pov: you have ADHD and can't do anything remotely chore like without one of these
I was half expecting the twist to be that the doppelgänger was the one telling the story
Thank you! Appreciate ya stories
Gotta say man, I really enjoy your stories and tales of terror. You're easily in my top three orators on youtube and I very much so appreciate the hard work you put in. Thank you!
I was just thinking about how everyone else in the world can get f*ckd but a perfect copy of my kids....that'd take me out. I like to imagine they would already be with me at the start or very shortly after the emergency started though. This was a great story. Definitely one that would make a great movie!
Thank You!!! 🤗
OH HELL YEAH!!!!
Smoke, coffee, Lighhthouse… damn it’s a good night!!
Thank so much, you’re my favorite channel, hands down.
I kinda feel a lil dirty cuz I tell em all that, but you *REALLY* are my fav. 😉
na the man made a mistake with beth even during a traumatic event it’s hard to forget stuff like and address
it doesn't get any better, then this. an up load from the top narration channel, and a sub count that keeps growing daily.....
"I see you outside" I feel bad for the mum.
This Video was pretty cool, you should do more of these types of videos, i like the atmosphere the Emergency alert horror videos create
I wonder how long it would really take for that to happen- actually nah I don’t want to know…. Stephen you are awesome. Truly. ♥️♥️♥️😎✌️
Great story❤ thanks L.H..Have to have my lighthouse, and cup of tea to finish the evening off.❤
Attack of the monster clones!!!! This was amazing!!!!! I'd love a full story of what happens next and if there was more how horrifying would it be to not trust anyone even people you knew unless they told u a memory. Thanks bro for the amazing video!!!!
How was it possible for him to find his keys and phone just outside the bar? The doppelganger used it to text Alex's mother, who saw the doppelganger outside her home. So, did the doppelganger kill Alex's mother, then go back to the bar and die?
I'm listening your channel to sleep. And this story paralysed me. I was so scared, it was awesome ! Such a good time, thank you
I feel so bad for his mom she thought the imposter was him I feel so bad. And great hub LH u did a great job one this one!
What a great story!! Thank you, Lighthouse! :D
Happy Christmas 🎄 and thanks for another great story
Im really enjoying those introductions you do on the beginning of the videos!
I got chills literal chills bro! Happy holidays 🌲⛄🙏🏼
Perfect job and wonderful among us Video and super scary story and horrifying and spooky and imposter ❤😮😮🎉😅👍🥰😘
after waching this i got a amber alert ( this is an alert in the US that is to inform the public about dangers in the vasinity ex: landslide or to inform the public about ubducsions or somthing) and it skared me for about 20 seconds before i relised it was not related to the story... or was it?
Amber Alerts are ONLY for child abductions. It's named for Amber Hagerman. Emergency alerts are the other thing you're thinking of.
This is Jam Nation for reading pleasure.
Good ones again. Happy Holidays
… oookaaay! I thought this was a very different type of video at first! …well.. I won’t be sleeping anytime soon! Eeeeeeeeeepith! 😱😰😭
Most unrealistic part is that coworkers are toasting to Alex
The whole bar is sus at that point
I know everyone probably says this but you are by far my favorite narrator, the others are good too but it seems like they can be so monotone and almost like they're reading directions. Not you though you are such a good voice actor and THAT really conveys the seriousness or comedy of the situation in whatever is going on in the story. Thanks for the years of stories so far and to the ones ahead.
Great story and narration as always!💜 Thank you!
