Fish curry was to be mixed with rice n eat, n in last drink tht pink color Solkadi for your digestion , it will make you feel light in next morning even thou you had heavy meal ( even mutton too) last night 23:38

what a family man.... njoying monsoon in kokan.... u all r very down to earth human beings... have a nice time in our country.... lots of love from my bottom of heart....❤❤❤ also that common juice in both thalis is called solkadhi digestive drink, we always order another full glass of solkadhi after finishing such huge thalis.
U should have asked them for a bowl of yogurt with the Misal Pav. Most places give you a bowl of good quality yogurt for a little extra price with the Misal Pav if you ask for it. The yogurt helps balance out the spices a bit. Plus having yogurt with Misal Pav is a thing in Maharashtra. Everyone doesn't do it but, a lot of people do. You should try yogurt with Misal Pav.
Yes, you dip the bread in misal. That's how you eat it. Misal is spicy. Bread will ease out that spicy burn. You can also add lemon juice and chopped onion to make the misal mild, as per your taste preference. Also, remember that it's the liquid soup called sample/rassa/tarri that is really hot & spicy. So add it little by little as you eat. You can adjust your misal with these things. One more tip. Order buttermilk along with misal. It will further reduce your burn and will comfort your stomach. The pink soup is solkadhi. It's made up of kokum, coconut milk (or sometimes substituted by butter milk) and some spices.
I can see people have already explained solkadhi. It works as a digestive. Kokam cools your stomach down. The other was dried shrimp. I would recommend trying Kombdi vade. Kombdi is chicken, vade or Vada is multi grain bread. Not to be mistaken with Batata Vada. The other recommendation is modak. It's a sweet dish. It has coconut and jaggery filling stuffed inside rice flour coating.

With misal you can order yogurt, pour it in, yogurt will cut down the spicyness and enhance the flavour 👍👌🙏🇮🇳 When in doubt about what goes with what , summon the waiter, it's his job to make your life easier with that thali. p.s. no drink tastes good if sipped from the straw. The glass always asks for a kiss of your lips and only then does the drink taste really nice.
@SeachGateINDIA thank you for your input and your suggestions, will keep it all in mind for when we try new dishes again. Thank you for your kind words and your support ❤️🙏🏻

About misal India maharashtra many people eat misal with directly mixup rassa and farsan but while ordering misal to waiter inform to him give rassa and farsan seperately so can enjoy the taste which actual ingrident on it. If u order rassa and farsan seperately can enjoy rassa taste plus maybe ur child can eat farsan its very tasty . Mix rassa nd farsan maybe fill heavy after 4 5 bite.about myself i am seperatly order rassa an farsan try it if possible
Welcome to Maharashtra once again❤ hope you are enjoying the mansoon here. You are exploring the beautiful side of Maharashtra. I know your family must be having fun. Do try squeeze the lamon given befor eating misal. Try squeezing more lamon and mix it nicely, that will reduce the spice of it to some extent. That why the lamon is served wih it. There a logic behind the traditional food in Maharashtra.❤

the pink thing is sol kadhi made of coconut milk and kokum extract. it helps in digestion and it also helps build appetite.
While eating such spicy food , pink liquid called solkadhi works as an antacid , so cool...... enjoy the food & good luck to you & family. ❤
