The way those controls work is exactly why tank controls still work. What you're describing there is how every developer approaches movement in a fixed perspective game. It's just not as effective as the old tried and true tank controls.
Setting a horror game in a haunted museum is such a great concept. You can throw pretty much anything at the player. Mummies, knights, samurai, stuffed animals, dinosaur skeletons, possessed paintings and sculptures. I'd love to see a game really go wild with it.
the premise is solid. I did subscribe within the first few seconds. Well done. Now keep up the good work and I'd imagine you will reach a relatively solid following.
I love concept here. The Playstation 2 is one of my favorite things ever made so I'll be follwing these videos for sure. The connection to your favorite music was a nice personal touch.
Really great video! I like your style, talking a lot about mechanics and design choices. A lot of game retrospectives tend to turn into just summarizing the story. That type of video has its place, but definitely less interesting to me since I’m most intrigued by the design and often want to avoid spoilers. Your comments about the lock-on system during combat reminds me of another PS2 game, Headhunter Redemption. Loved the shooting mechanics in that. That game, and the first Headhunter, are really interesting MGS style action games that I wish were discussed more.
When i was younger, always thought that this game was like the videogame adaptation of The Mummy from 1999, because we had a Egyptian styled ambient, two protagonists a man and a woman, we have a Middle Eastern friend, an interesting plot and much more. Shame no one has noticed that...
Really awesome video!!! I saw this game a lot of times vut never gave it a chance because of the PAL cover, I´ll have to check it out. Just suscribed and I´m certain your channel will grow in no time. Keep it up!!!
I love your style! Your presentation and pacing is really good, Im also a british developer (literally one man band) but im working on a vertical slice of a new project (souls like survival horror) so if youre interested, hit me up and il drop you a key!
If i wouldve known about this game back when i was a kid i wouldve lost it resident evil+indiana jones? Sign me up just purchased physical for xbox as i dont think the ps2 version exists over here in the states
Man, remember when they made attractive female characters? Even in low res you can tell they wanted to make her the pretty adventurous librarian-style female lead.
Man, if I can give you a tip, put cute games between every three horror games. Otherwise, you will be desensitized and this will ruin the experience for those who watch the videos.

Solid Kudos for doing a dev interview.
Stuff like that explains why games got certain features and makes you wanna appreciate it more.
The editing on this is INSANE! Loved the writing and everything was so well put together 🥰
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️

5:42 I’ve seen this type of system in a couple other games, the stand still to shrink the cursor thing
From what I remember in my playthrough, waiting for the cursor to shrink made no difference

Is Darian Dane also an archeologist?
to my memory, it’s not made clear in the game itself but i believe i’ve read online that he is.
You can’t drop items?
There’s only 30 PS2 survival horror games
❤❤❤
