Thank you SO much! An ex-roomate from H__ had my Router serial number, password, and her computer hacker boyfriend were hacking my Router after she left. I changed the password but then they blocked the Netgear online account. Netgear wanted me to buy an annual service plan - cost more than a new Router. So I found you...and voila!! I was able to change this on my own, instead of buying a new Router. Many blessings and good karma to you!! Thank you again!! (PS - and if I can do...anyone can. I'm super low-tech :)
That's a tiny reset button, had to do it several times before it took, then power it off. Made a mistake and switched it to bridge mode instead of router mode. It basically shut off the interface in bridged mode. Worked and got new names and access to the wifi, thank you!
Does the net gear modem need to be powered on ? Does it also need to be connected to internet before you begin the process of configuring the new password after a reset?
Aloha all y'all... and Nick... I am trading out an Arris combo from Frontier for the Netgear N600 C3700 . . . I get the feeling it is a bit more complicated than simply taking the coax cable from the Arris and connecting it to the Netgear box... It is a pass-me-down modem to keep the bills lower from Frontier. I am going to reset the factory settings (they are attached to the stand)... Where do I go next...? After running the ipconfig command at the command prompt, instead of the 192.168.0.1 IP address as in the video above, my laptop shows "172.20.20.1" as the default gateway address. Thoughts?
Hey Nick, Got Question, Have This Same Cable Modem/Router, & Need To Get Into The Setting’s To Change It To Bridge Mode, Cause I’m Using My Time Capsule As My Router & Harddrive For A Personal Cloud Storage, Right Now They Are Both Running @ Same Time & Clashing With One Another & My WiFi Keeps Dropping Out Because Of It, I Have Comcast XFinity Tv & High Speed Internet @ 150MBPS, I Have My Ring Outdoor Video Doorbell 2 Of Them On WiFi & A Ring Spotlight Cam & My Laptop, Air Printer, Google Home, Nest Thermostat, Nest Protect Co2 Smoke Detector, My Xbox One Is Hard Wired With Ethernet Off Xbox One To A Hub, Comcast Telling Me They Can’t Get Into The Settings Of It Because It’s Not Their Modem
My video shows you how to get into settings. Once there, go to Advance Tab and Advance Setup > Wireless Settings > enable bridge mode is there. Also you can get more info if you Google keywords: change netgear n600 to bridge mode setup

I'd reset my router by pressing the reset bottom, and router stop working, no light no WIFI, what is the problem should be?
I have reset my netgear but I cant see 2.4GHz light on. I was connected before with a different router. Do you have any insight or video on that?
