Only if gamers wasn’t so needy, only if they didn’t promise ppl broken promises, they should’ve never given a date and handle the pressure like rockstar does, I wonder what cyberpunk would’ve been if they had more time to finish the game
@@grimmylow9535 its not anyone's fault but CDPR's. yes, people are greedy. but that doesn't mean you have to overpromise and underdeliver some of the most basic features. im sure theres people who expected much more from gta5 or rdr2. but you dont hear any shitting on either of those games like cyberpunk was because those released as actual completed and good games.
In the lore on the old maps prior to Cyberpunk Red and the 4th Corporate Wars that was the only access to Morrow Rock. Prior to it being a Space Port it was an Oil export port for surface ships. Hence the Oil fields to the North of the city. If I recall correctly it was collapsed during the war in NC. In V's time it would make sense that it was never rebuilt and they just put a bridge in instead when Orbital Air took over ownership of the Island.
It was actually going to be a tunnel straight to Pacifica (instead of the Pacifica-Heywood tunnel we have in game that was mentioned) untill CDPR expanded the map southward to make the city more believable size-wise (and even now Night City would be pretty compact when compared to IRL cities). More connections around the city were planned anyway (the tunnel under casino that might have lead to the ghost town, the tunnel at the second dam that wouldhave connected to much smaller badlands, etc...) Which makes me wonder at which state of development they chose to expand the city map. P.S. This could also explain some of those unused places in Arroyo (the huge Petrochem powerplant that seems to be a planned but late addition, one that NPCs mention as being source of some troubles, as well as the empty space around cooling towers), the second dam addition, and bet that there was a choice made between developing the network of underground spaces for a smaller city, or keeping the focus above-ground, using existing assets and making the city bigger, more believable, and especially simpler to fill it with gameplay... and I think it might have been for the better, even if they only partially succeeded. It is kinda shame that the initial negativity (some of which I am starting to believe was artifically inflated way beyond what the game deserved) led to CDPR chosing to make only one expansion, because I firmly believe they might have planned to finish/expand upon those areas too if they had second expansion...
Game shipped in a bad state depending on hardware. It really was unplayable for me for about the first 3-4 months after launch. It didn't really become 'good' till a year after launch for me. Now it's great. One of the best ever. But it really was that troubled at first. One thing was driver issues. CDPR would put out a patch to fix something and it'd bork performance on drivers as they were making engine changes to fix problems which broke whatever AMD and Nvidia did with their cyberpunk drivers. That first year was rough. It never should have shipped like that. It deserved all it's bad launch criticism. My hope is the investors learned their lesson on pushing the studios on a date so that doesn't happen again.
Night city is the central place for it all. It began with the original table top, the video game set it there (even that mobile game that nobody knows about) and RED and Edgerunners is also there. Yeah I don't see them leaving it behind. I could be wrong but it's usually the main setting.
I don't think he's back. In the last couple of videos he said he'd be gone for the next four months and all of the videos until April (starting with the last one) are prerecorded.
@@WhiteLocust In the description of his last video ("What's Inside The Petrochem Complex"), it says "Howdy all, this is the first "scheduled" video for the next 4 months. I'm no longer in the country so we're working with weekly (maybe more) uploads until mid April..."
the amount of content and stuff you can cramp into CP77 massive vertical space they created is stupidly large. there's no surprise a lot of buildings are empty, roads unused, assets abandoned not everything is due to crunch, it just came out as not ideal setup for the game. but it always amazes me how impossible this city would be in real life 😁 that's the fun part
It's going to be very interesting to see the differences in the maps between this game and Orion... I'm wondering if they are able to port the existing map over to Unreal, or if they are going to have start all over from scratch as it will be a brand new engine?
They can port the models over. Models are pretty universal, even if there are different file types, they can be converted. The only thing they have to do is touch them up after they import them to Unreal as properties work differently in different engines, but the model itself will be fine. They will have to redo animations and whatnot but they know this, it's their job.
maybe this could've been an alternative entrance into Konpecki sort of some kind of underground parking lot that extended to the NX Orbital Air space garage that we can see into but can't enter that possibly could've played a role for both a new ending to the main endings and ending to phantom liberty and would've been a great place for side gigs or NCPD scanner missions it is a shame they cut it out though
Copyright is not the correct term. You could use hypothesis and show what you know. CDPR won’t go after you unless you are leaking an up and coming game.
So where is the exit/entrance on the orbital island? There is an area under a glass ceiling which could be the receiving area for cars coming to the station. Can you glitch in there?
you can glitch under the map in NCX (also under parking space below glass structure) but it's just water. i don't think the devs have made the entrance in NCX.
Considering that this is located in a post war western U.S city of the future, I don't think there are enough examples of infrastructure that is no longer usable. Every major city on the west coast will be worse than Pacifica in 53 years. With a war and a few earthquakes, even worse than that. Maybe they dropped the tunnel for the realism gamers are always asking for.
Brother, that is not how copyright law works. You think you're not gonna have at least one dude in the comments who's informed enough to smell bs - on RUclips!?
I hope next update comes with a more complete world, really a shame they had to limit themselves due to the constraints of giving everyone a playable experience.
There won't be any more updates as confirmed by the devs. Maybe another patch going out sometime later but that's it. Cyberpunk 2077 is no longer actively worked on.
The world is already so complete and these “ unfinished “ areas give us so much more to discover after our time with the game. With mystery to follow and speculate on. Without it I think night city would almost feel more incomplete. Or at least not as interesting without it’s mystery
And that's such a shame too because they have a great foundation to work on already especially considering the success of Phantom Liberty, but they'd rather invest another 8 to 9 years into a new engine (Unreal Engine) they have not worked with to what end I don't know. They could have pumped out Cyberpunk IP games every 2-3 years building on the foundation they've already built in RED Engine or at least made more than just one expansion 3 years after the game's release and they would have made both their customers and their stockholders happy but here we are, lamenting what could have been, exploring all these abandoned places in the game. I'm just sad.

For sure it is. Not only in the blocked off places we can see, but also in a vertical sense. So many elevated platforms all over NC they can utilize.
