I started a new job in January and I use excel daily tying together multiple system data output. I was always pretty proficient in excel and basic proficiency in Access. But I discovered Chandoo and have increased my skills significantly in just 3 months on the job. I used other videos to get an understanding on some of the concepts presented here and I thought this video would be a rehash of those others. Well, watching this has sparked an idea of power query as a means to create unions within excel instead of where I've just recently learned to do them in Access. Sincerely grateful for showing a tremendously efficient way to improve my value.

Great video. It is great that excel is building in data analytics features. Most of the data transformations now can be done in excel, rather than needing additional tools, or coding skills. I am most impressed by the filter function by the way.

I have been watching your videos for years, but today I had the frustration that the "Data Types" did not show up on the Data tab. I remember the Data Type group there, but is no longer there. Then did a search of Microsoft and found that these Data Types are now ONLY available to selected users. Well, I finally figured out a work around, on the "Data" tab, click "Get Data" then click "Form Other Sources" then click "From Web" then enter a URL for a website for what is wanted, then select the table(s) desired, then click "Transform" then if the first line should be the header, but is not the header, this can be promoted to header. Then click the Transform tab then click "Structured Column" then click "Create Data Type" then shows a popup to then name the data type column. Then click Ok, then "Close & Load." Now have this icon your video has and works exactly the way you demonstrated.

Chandoo I would appreciate whenever you use a new function built into Excel 365 (and not in older versions) if you can pop up that msg. On screen "only in 365" As many over here still use 2019 version, it will be noted not to look up these functions in older versions.

For the filter, I would not go that far, though. I would just put >2000 in the last cell, right click and filter by cell value. Thanks to Bill Jelen

Wow.. didn't know MS did a old _switcharoo_ on this. I think some of the datatypes features can be turned off by the O365 admins too.
