    I’ve been using a similar one for 20 years. Only feeds one side. Have to put the bales on in the correct way and works better with drier bales.

    You followed some great advice on how to unwrap a bale. Turn it slowly is the key and practice makes perfect.

    I have had on those Hustlers for 3 years and simply love it ,I have mine on a 12 m tele handler and feed out down a feed passage and also use it to unroll bales in to feeders in lose yards its far safer for the animals to just unroll it whilst there eating rather than trapping them as I had done in the past ,Thankfull didn't kill any but it was near miss

    Id say you could back in to the back of your double shed and feed both left and right sides . Then pull forward 5 feet and feed left and right again ? You would get both sides fed with no running over fresh silage ? Great video as always !

    Absolutely brilliant bits of kit are the hustler have had it 11 years .take the wrap off before you put the bale on the unroller then just slice the net across 98% of the time the net unrolls with the first bit of the bale and you can pick it up after unrolling the other 2% it wraps round the bars which is no big deal. Mine has the extended hydraulic elevator which I know is more money but makes it far more versatile.

    In the colder months air cooled engines will get condensation inside the motor if they are not worked hard enough to get really hot, if the engine doesn’t get hot enough to evaporate the condensation the oil will go milky, a very common problem with my Honda MSX125 motorbike on a short run to work (just over 3 miles) if I take the long way home about 6 miles the engine gets lovely and warm and the oil is not milky.

    I think the bigger tyres when you get them might work with given the extra height and the shorter top link as well. With the 12ft width of the passageway, you are definitely restricted. It looks to work well with the open shed where the cattle is. The bale splitter works well in the passageway

    • @IFarmWeFarm
      @IFarmWeFarm  3 года назад +3

      Yes they will do, it does work well though on the other shed. 15ft passageway and you’d be flying

      You would definitely need the room. Just thinking about what you were saying about the diet feeder, wouldn't it be handy if you got to try out something like the VDW Tractor-Mounted Mini Mixer as a demo sometime down the line

  • @johnhyde8892
    @johnhyde8892 3 года назад

    We have only got a very small farm not dairy, and we have to feed through feed barrier or gates. We have feed trough for nuts what we can lift up or down so cattle do not crap in them.
    I thought that bail unrolling was good but you do need the space, like you would need with a diet feeder.
    I see you don't use straw on your farm either.

    Had one of them Honda scrapers for years. Broke my heart. Something wrong with them every god dan day. Like u said only good for scraping slats. That’s what I was doing with it aswell. Tbf when it was going it was ok. But think there not worth there money. U can’t even get at the drain plug for the engine oil. Very badly designed machine. Them cables ur using Adrian are not worth putting on. U should send one of the old cables up to cable craft in Dublin. They will make u a proper cable that will last for years and years. Had the same problem with moisture in the oil aswell. Great video 😀

    • @IFarmWeFarm
      @IFarmWeFarm  3 года назад

      That new engine is a way better design but I don’t think it comes on the new ones. That’s kind of the reason I wouldn’t buy a new one cause it was the same thing again.

  • @harezy

    Looked a royal ball ache that "unroll". Leave that on another tractor and fully unwrap the bale first with a loader before putting it in then maybe.
    But a lot of effort for not that much time saving. But you could get quicker at it and a bit of practice.
    Maybe try on level ground, not down hill!. Diet feeder is deffo a long term good option for you. New shed builds yehh🤣🤣

    • @IFarmWeFarm
      @IFarmWeFarm  3 года назад +1

      My one (sorry ex one) 1out of10... They were made by hustler years ago for feeding cattle years ago out on dry pastures, where you drive along and feed a bale in a different place every day... Not irish sheds.. Don't waste your money

    • @frankcarty

      We've one (not a hustler, ours is a bridgeway, but exact same design), and we wouldn't be without it now. It's in its 6th winter. Takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get into the swing of it, they are great. It saves a lot of forking.

    • @IFarmWeFarm
      @IFarmWeFarm  3 года назад

      It wouldn’t really be fair to rate it on its first go, but rather on what others say that have it much longer maybe. Some people love them and some don’t. Every farms different👍 it wouldn’t work with us due to that passageway
