Nice little table design. I think that plugging screw heads with dowels made from the same wood would also look good.

There is no such thing as free stuff, or I had it on hand. As you did, milling, and then sanding, and then gluing, then sanding, and then…… and then more . Even if it is a small shop, it still might cost you $3000 in total equipment, to make any piece, and not to forget your mention on over head. Even if it was a pallet, the cost of picking them up, and then taking them apart, and then milling them, and then…. time is always relative to yourself not what others say.
You are spot on in what you are stating. Take my home made types of wax finish I want to make, food safe, and a paste, and a regular one. Sure I can buy one here in Canada at aprox $35 ( and a lot more) for 6-8 oz, or make my own for far less, yet I dropped $300 on material ( which should last a while), and needed some “old” pots, and heat source. Then the time I need to make the different types, and the supplies to store them. Let us not forget the hours I spent on research, so I can make them, before I even bought the supplies.
I thoroughly enjoy wood working, from design to finished product, but, if I am selling this, I expect to pay myself a very fair wage for all of that. Even if the piece only took an hour, look back at what I mentioned, it is not really only an hour. I enjoy your content and don’t second guess yourself by calling yourself a “know it all”. We all have our own “experiences”.
Btw, seen the clamps up on the wall, I want, and need more pipe clamps! Cheers

You nailed it! The list of unpaid work nobody talks about that comes with having a business seems to be endless. I didn't want to offend someone, but I see a lot of videos where people make false promises when it comes to profits.

@@niclasklinner.woodworker Don’t worry about offending anyone, as people seem to love being right (offended, thoughtful some of those are called “Karens”), and entitled, and this is the clincher>>. No matter what you do, someone will always object, and it is just a matter of picking through that and understanding what is going on. This is the internet where many are vocal hidden behind their pc keyboard. You stick to your “guns” and do what you do in your objective of woodworking. Also, just like the “entitled”, you are entitled to your fair opinion from your own experiences.
Think of it this way, my very good friend and I do not always see eye to eye, and can vehemently disagree. I never take it personal, and understand that we are two different people, even though, we both have similar ideas, and so forth. The famous quote, “ we agree …… to disagree”!
      Cheers

I enjoyed the video. Your table design is nice. I especially like the angle of the legs. Also your explanation of business overhead was very good too

Good job. I appreciate your honesty about the true cost of doing business. I know too well about that with having a mini excavating business for the last 20 years. There are enough bullshitters on RUclips to last eternity lol. Actually I believe a lot of them really believe their stories cause the just don’t really know what hidden costs they are incurring. A person needs to do a budget plan to try comprehend what is really going on.

Thanks! Honestly, I'm not sure if some of those guys here on RUclips really believe in what they're saying. I wonder if some of them ever had a business. I slowed down my side business, because it included too much unpaid and time consuming work like talking to customers, make drawings, buy materials etc...

It's exactly that. I brought it from Germany with, but I think you can get it from Lee Valley too.

@@niclasklinner.woodworker I saw it,thanks. It says from Japan but it's not sold in Japan. Odd. I may alter one of my pole saws to mimic this.
