That Ross can just summon up a marching hymn on-the-fly (and one actually written in the 1920s, no less) is amazing, verging on scary. Barn-burner of an episode!

I'm just as invested in these characters as I was to the Giant Slayer PCs. Such fantastic chemistry and improvisation from the players. Rob is hilarious. Noura is just the coolest. Kate's energy is amazing (and i will never forgive her for how hilarious she was in the Star Trek RPG. 🤣) Ross never stops being impressive. And Yes, Troy's unforgiving virgo mindset and humor makes him such an amazing GM.

Not sure whether they missed this rule but the first instance of Mythos-induced insanity should give the character 5% Cthulhu Mythos and each subsequent episode should grant an additional 1% (page 164)

Amazing, Ross' improv is incredible in this one.
For Troy: I noticed a few things from last episode. Fists are 1D3 +DB, but like Shotguns they cannot 'impale' so no bonus dice on crits. People with firearms only get +50 dex priority IF they state intent to shoot. And you need to check the firearms modifier chart on page 119, bonus and penalty dice are not being applied (plus Kate could do new tricks with her shotgun from the same table) ... I only noticed this stuff as I'm preparing to be Keeper for the first time right now. Not trying to be 'that guy' 🙈

Oh, we're getting so close to the first character death/full padded room for life. I did laugh for way too long that they didn't stop that character from getting down there to lose all that sanity. A quick "Don't come down here! We're coming up in a minute, and you don't want to see this at all." Also, I think Noura should have had to roll some kind of damage from the phone call from her character's father as it started morphing into real-life phone calls. Everyone single after 28 or so gets those calls. Troy and those cliffhangers though. But please keep plucking at all the loose threads as that gives us more episodes before the holiday break/hiatus you mentioned was coming as I don't ever want this to end. It's too much fun.

Just for future reference WeeGee would develop and Print photos in the trunk of his car so not so hard to do. also 35mm was not a thing yet so all negs were medium to large format so you could contact print no enlarger needed 120 was the most popular. there was 35mm but that did not really surpass 120 till the 60's most Kodak box cameras were 120 news and art were usually done with twinlense reflex cameras and view cameras like a graphex. the graphex being popular for news because the negative was 4x5 so it could be quickly printed as a contact print with high detail

Speaking as a pale AF person with Irish, Polish, Norwayish, etc that area genetics and the sun is horrible. Can’t stand outside for even 15 minutes without starting to burn!
Fall is much better. Halloween, cooling temperatures (usually), the leaves change, the spooky atmosphere of October, the pumpkin foods, I like all that.
I HATE Winter cuz my arthritis flares up when it’s too cold outside and my bones just ache constantly the entire season. Christmas is a redeeming quality but not enough to like Winter any smidgen more than that.
Spring starts up the allergies with the flowers blooming, the grass growing, the moss on the trees, I am allergic to everything outside that grows during this time. Give me a mid 70 degree day with slight wind and partly cloudy, that’s the kind of days I like.

    Whssh
One of the things I really like about this group is they obviously think about the previous episodes / portions of the adventure and have these remembrances from Peru Etc that Lincoln to their current horrific experiences.
Something that you might pay attention to is doing a little research on your character's primary equipment. In particular the photographer the artist. Fairuz should absolutely have in her possession bottles of the necessary chemistry for developing photography. She would first need to develop the negatives that's one set of chemicals. Then she would need to develop the photographs and that does require a projector lamp. This could be an apparatus erected in the corner of a bathroom. The bathrooms at the Waldorf would be sumptuous. But the enlarger would have a downward projecting lamp and lens. You would need a clear surface and most photographers worth their salt would have an 8x10 pallet marked off perhaps with cardboard tape down at the edges to be able to perfectly line up a sheet of photo paper so that the image would print directly on the paper. Before the paper is is printed on the photographer places the negative in a frame that slides in behind the lens the light shines through it and the lens projected projects it on the surface below. The lenses adjusted to bring the image into Focus and usually a loop is used to see if the image is sharp and clear. Then the lamp is turned off the red light is turned off and the photographer places the photo paper image side up onto his his cardboard framed form where he just projected the image and then turns the lamp on for the prescribed number of seconds to successfully embed the image into the paper. The paper is thin tucked into a box and covered while the next picture is set up and projected. Once this stage is done and red light the photographer then sets up a series of plastic trays or trades made to accommodate the chemistry and the photos go into the developing solution and then there is a second solution that pauses the process and then a rent solution which is basically just water. Then on a line that has been already strong and with some basic Clips even close pins the photos are hung to dry. And once they are dry they can be handled freely. The process would take some hours but many many artists and especially photojournalists would have this equipment or at least know how to use it. You can never in the field rely on the availability of a photo processing lab. A police station might have a photo processing lab. They would need to do their work in house if possible anyway newspapers will have a photo processing lab. Local photographers would have a little photo processing lab. But the nature of fairuz photographs at this point are such that you wouldn't want any questions asked by anyone who happened to see what you're working on if you borrowed their lab or by someone developing the pictures for you. So this is a long campaign if there is does not have in her possession and her gear a smallish crate which holds all the implements for printing photo processing and developing then these items should be acquired. A small jaunt through your Call of Cthulhu investigator supplies should make it easy to make this list if not then Google is your friend. And if you're really stuck, I know all these things from personal experience of assisting my grandfather who was a professional photographer from the twenties forward:-) he's gone now but I remember a lot of what we did in the lab and a lot of that really hasn't changed. The the developing is now largely done by machines which carry long rolls of a photo paper for weddings or Sports pictures or things like that the paper is put on a roller which feeds it into the developer of which carries the paper through the developing and Rent Solutions and then under a dryer at the very end of the machine and collected on another roll. Then are placed on the cut table to be separated and retouched. But for what you need let me recommend that you go on RUclips and find the one and only season of Kolchak the Night Stalker from the '70s. And you might want to watch through The Omen also from the '70s. There's a great scene when the photographer / reporter is in his dark room developing the pictures of Bokehaven's wall.
That is a setup that you will see and movies as far back as you can watch movies. It will not be that much different from what would be available in the 1920s.

Perhaps it's just me but I'd really like Margot to ditch the way-too-american sawed-off shotgun, grab a black leather trenchcoat and a Luger and go for the full German secret-police vibe.
A fantastic series with great characters. Totally hooked.

I also cannot stand Summer. It is hot, it is bright, there are no nights, there are people everywhere. Horrible, even without the pollen.
Don't forget to ring a Cowles!

Word! If you're cold you can put more clothes on, if you're too hot there ain't a lot you can, especially in a country with no AC!

@@nightcatarts You know what, I think we've had this conversation before over on Eurogamer 😂 Only just clocked the name! And man, it was 40c degrees in my office & bedroom for a full week during the heatwave, day and night. Trying to sleep in that was the real eldritch horror!

@@Bovrillor Yep, and oof 40 is far too much for me. I don't recall how hot my place got now since it cooked my brain, but I've never been more glad I decided to buy a little AC unit.

Am I wrong for thinking that Vaughn is queer coded? The way he talks about his dead companion, it is almost as if they were a little more than friends in those trenches.
Especially after how he interacted with him in the apartment complex last episode.

Not the only one who got those vibes.
I try to hold open space for platonic male friendships in fiction (that are actually emotionally intimate without being sexual or romantic) without being queer and despite trying specifically to hold that in mind, Mr. V Villiers seemed a little lovestruck.
But perhaps not. Or Maybe it was unrequited, and that’s why he can’t get over Oberon.
