Dolphin is a free and open-source video game console emulator for GameCube and Wii[27] that runs on Windows, Linux, MacOS, and Android.[28]
It had its inaugural release in 2003 as freeware for Windows. Dolphin was the first GameCube emulator that could successfully run commercial games. After troubled development in the first years, Dolphin became free and open-source software and subsequently gained support for Wii emulation. Soon after, the emulator was ported to Linux[29] and macOS.[30] As mobile hardware got more powerful over the years, running Dolphin on Android became a viable option.
Dolphin has been well received in the IT and video gaming media for its high compatibility, steady development progress, the number of available features, and the ability to play games with graphical improvements over the original consoles.

its better to use a higher resolution then u dont need any antialiasing

Higher resolution rendering takes a LOT more performance than antialiasing. For people with lower end systems that are struggling to keep a buttery smooth 60FPS, using a lower resolution (e.g. the 720p setting, or even the default 1x resolution) with 4x AA will be the best bet.
For anyone with a modern or semi-modern gaming PC with a dedicated GPU, then yeah sure, render at 4k and let it downscale.

Going above 2x anti aliasing will make subtle black wirelines that follow characters in 3d fighting games like mk armageddon and naruto clash of ninja
per pixel lighting is better it doesn't affect performance if you have it unchecked it will be per vertex and that doesn't look very good, especially in older games like super mario galaxy.

Thanks for the video! Would it be better to do 8x MSA or 4X SSA? Both run about equal speed for me. I’m not sure the visual difference there, but I do see that SSA seems to slow the game down more if I go above 4X.
4xssa is technically better but if your monitor shows no difference. Go with the lower setting

Where do you get the games? I can't publish that on RUclips because RUclips removes any links to those websites and I only use games I have obtained through dumping my own disks. Try Reddit
Why don't you make more videos on Dolphin anymore? Well these videos take a lot of time to make and when I made a few videos, they were block in certain countries and put to a limited ads. Which means I can no longer justify making these videos anymore. I love helping people out but I got to eat as well. thank you to every body who has liked commented and subscribed on my videos. I love you all and hopefully one day I can get back to making this kind of content again.
How do you play Skyward Sword with an Xbox Controller? Skyward Sword is motion plus which I don't recommend or cannot get working properly with Dolphin just yet.

Cherry, i uninstalled the division 2 due to some problems with it but i will be installing it for the next week
I'm trying to get F-Zero GX to play smoothly and it chugs in certain areas, like in big blue sapphire cup when going under water and into the tunnel, or driving through the buildings. Ruby cups sand ocean stutters when driving pass the tornadoes sections. I was able to get the intro screen to load and run at 60 fps which is nice.
turn down the anti-aliasing and the anisotropic filtering
Render the game at a lower resolution (e.g. the 720p setting or even the default 1x setting) and just use 4x MSAA to smooth out the edges a bit. It won't be as crisp, but the demand on your GPU will be much lower and it should run better.
Also make sure the "compile shaders first" is checked so it doesnt have to do that during the game.

Great video. But in your opinion is a PC better in playing GameCube games? Or a tablet (like those Galaxy Tab S5e or S6) much better, simpler to install and run? Is a PS4 controller totally sufficient in playing the GameCube/Wii games? Or an Xbox one is better?
My opinion is PC will be better as long as you have one good enough. I don't have much experience with Android Dolphin. And a PS4 controller is fine

That's true but you can get it to run very smooth. Sometimes even better with the right PC and settings. For example I can play Super Mario Sunshine in 60FPS here and in 4K something I can't do on the GameCube. It depends what you want but most games run near perfect. Dolphin has been around a long time.
Any idea why colours would go off when entering full screen? In windowed the colours are fine but if i go full screen the colours are blown out and oversaturated. If i exit full screen after this the whole screen is dim and the only way to get it back is to turn hdr off then back on. I suspect its an hdr setting but ive been unable to find a solution for years. Found others on-line with the same issue but no solution. Thanks.

Skyward sword is somehow capped at 30 fps for some reason.
A lot of games in Gamecube and Wii run natively on 30fps. You'll have to find a hack or download a game that specifically says 60fps.

I got the an ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop with the NVIDIA GeForce 1660 Ti, Intel Octacore I7 16 Threads, and 32gb of RAM. Hoping I can get these games running on high settings.

Pal vs ntsc? Ok so ntsc is 480p 60fps. But pal is 480p @50fps... But pal60 is 480i at 60fps wich makes ntsc superior right?.. But pal has better colours by far so the question is if your running a pal game in 1080p dolphin and you hold B to enable pal 60 how does dolphin handle that? Because pal60 is 480i and on dolphin website it says dolphin doesnt output interlaced resolutions.
If I remember correctly True Pal60 is 571i. NTSC is superior if you want a smoother gameplay experience. However PAL60 is achieved through codes. Each version of the game is the same. Only the code tells it what resolution and frame rate to output. Essentially all GameCube games which output interlaced video do render "the lines between the interlacing" when you run them on a real GameCube. While the number of lines that are scanned out is half the number of lines that get rendered, the extra lines aren't simply discarded - they're typically used as input to a deflicker filter. So Pal60 is easily converted to progressive scan because the information is still there. It's the display that determines Progressive or interlaced. I hope this makes sense

I'm having trouble with Metal gear solid twin snakes. it runs great on my hp omen but whenever cut scenes play it like doubles the graphics or something weird. like walls or item boxes will disappear every now and then. What version of the dolphin emulator do you have? A lot of options shown on your version arent avaiable on mine. Currently I am trying to fix the stuttering and flickering of "Spectrobes Origins". The first 1 to 2 minutes everything goes smoothly until suddenly the VPS rate goes under 50% and it lags like crazy. If you have any suggestions, please give me some ideas to solve this. Thank you very much. :)

What happens is that when I'm playing it usually gives a beastly drop in fps (it goes from 60 stable fps to 3 or 8 fps) to the point that the game crashes, about 3 or 4 seconds pass and the game runs normally again. . It happens in all the games that I have emulated, this does not happen always, but it is annoying when it happens, could you help me to solve it please.
I'd be guessing that you dont have "compile shaders before starting" checked. Check that so it doesn't have to compile a shader any time a new effect appears for the first time, thus chugging mid-gameplay.
It's also possible your PC is maxed out on RAM and its having to use the page file. Expand to 16gb ram or kill off all other processes before playing.

Luigis Mansion is a game locked at 30FPS. To get it to run at 60FPS you'd have to find the Gecko Code online. A few games are like that. Games ran between 15-30fps back then so in order to have them run smooth. They have to be the same as they were back then, otherwise they run too fast and it's like playing in 2x speed. I hope this makes sense

I set my display on windows to 150% when I do tutorials. So everybody can see it.
No matter what I tweek, wii runs like shit on my Mini PC, even on Vulcan. And I can emulate Wii u and Switch with no problems.
For some reason Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 will not play at 100% speed on my HD graphics 4600 or my Quadro K1200. Every other title plays smoothly at 100%.... no clue why when every other title is playable without a graphics card on HD graphics 4000 laptop. I thought for sure I'd be able to play Hot Pursuit 2 now with a Quadro K1200 but nope... oh well.
This game maxes out the GameCube GPU hardware by rendering as many frames as it can normally causing it to render between 20 - 30 FPS. Dolphin, by default, emulates an "infinitely fast" GPU, causing the game to always run at 60 FPS, making it more demanding than most GameCube games. Use Dolphin's "CPU Clock Override" in the Advanced configuration tab to lower the Gamecube's clock speed can force the game to slow down enough to be run properly.

Well it had to happen to someone. OR, i have a virus. Either way it did not work. I have the latest version of Dolphin. AND/BUT now i have red dots and lines on my screen. Probably a virus damaged my graphics card. OR it is too old. Anyway i had the error before i had problems with it (im 90% sure).
Do you use geforce experience. I used to have a 960 and Dolphin worked fine. check device manager to make sure the adapter is connected
