    Are the cords for the semi circle same length?

    • @majestic.macrame
      @majestic.macrame  2 года назад +2

      It depends how big & long you want to make the semi circle. You can calculate it. Measure how much cord gets used when you tie a double half hitch knot (by measuring the cord length before you tie the knot and then after; roughly it's 4cm for me). If you want to make 6 rows of knots and you want the remaining cord to be 30cm long then your first row of cords will be (4*6)+ 30. So thats 26+30 = 56cm. The cords for the next row can be cut 4cm shorter, and for each subsequent row they can be cut 4cm shorter than for the previous row of knots.

    How long should the ropes be for the semicircle?

    • @majestic.macrame
      @majestic.macrame  2 года назад +3

      It depends how big you want your circle and how long you want your cords/fringe. Decide the length you want the piece to be when you're done, multiply that by 2 because you have to fold the cord in half when you attach it, and then for every line of knots you plan to make, add 8cm to that length (each knot uses up 4cm and you have two sides to the cord since you folded it in half).
      So if you want the piece to be 15cm long with 4 rows then go with 15x2 + 4x8 = 30 + 24 = 54cm
