    I have watched this vid at least 4 times.
    I have been working massive hurricane relief in Florida and I have a few extra bucks to by a new bag.
    You have given such a great in Depth vid I have made my decision based on this vid.

    Definitely the trident very happy to see u can remove those orange divider they look like an extra couple ounces for dividers that will just get in my way especially if u don’t have a million little gadgets to separate.

      Hey, Barry! Thanks so much for watching the video! Thank you! I really like the dividers most of the time, but I don’t walk distances with this particular pack. It’s more for taking with me each day, but I can totally understand your concerns. I hope you enjoy the pack if you get one.

      LearningToBePrepared yeah I use the 511 slingbag for my edc/ get home bag works great I think it’s 18 liters I have a 511 rush 72 but it’s a hair big for me and if I ever need to bug out carrying to much weight would only wear me down I also have A top of the line green canvas bag about 40 liters mint condition as is the rush 72 the Duluth was $250 and the rush 72 like $160 Id love to trade for that trident I’d even throw in a top of the line knife etc with either bag I mentioned for it so many great knives folding and fixed if your interested I could get into what knives u might want depending on what size what steel folding or fixed etc think about it I can sense my side of trade 1st so u know u got a good deal that actually came.

    Great video man, personally i'm not the biggest fan of how a lot of Vanquest bags look but between these two I think I would go with the Falconer 30; with what I prefer it's one of the best looking bags by them that i've seen so far and it seems really reliable as I always hear about Vanquest products.

  • @wagstaff6135
    @wagstaff6135 6 лет назад +2

    This video helped me decide on the Falconer (I already had a Pilum -- side opening, sling, which serves much the same function as the Trident, though obviously with smaller capacity). It's pretty much a perfect bag for me, though I do wish it had a padded slip-pocket for the laptop.... Vanquest stuff is really nice, but I'm stuck just barely between two bags in wanting the versatility of the three-layer, clamshell opening, but also a padded laptop compartment.
    I know this is a while back, and you don'twork for Vanqest any more -- I really did watch this video back when it came out and several times since, so I'm just late to commenting! As several others have said, this is a supremely helpful video.

      Andrew Lewis : I totally appreciate you stopping by. I’m glad you are enjoying the Vanquest bags. I sure have. The trident is my favorite. Lol!

    • @wagstaff6135
      @wagstaff6135 6 лет назад

      I assume because you like the side-opening, access while wearing.... but is that why? Do you carry camera equipment, or what, that makes the Trident more suitable to you tham the Falconer? It seems to me the Falsconer is more versatile, but... yes, less perfect for camera equipment/electronics, or the carry of a laptop... I just think a) I need to carry file folders and a couple books, which would work with the Trident but.... works better if you remove dividers, and thus lose the biggest organizational advantage of that bag.
      I say this of course without having a Trident... so I'm not sure. If I had the money I'd have "one of each" across their line. Probably something close to one of each across some other companies' lines, too! But that's a collect-and-try-everything-disease!

    Great review, it's a hard decision. I'm going to hold out for when Vanquest comes out with a larger pack. Want something in the 45 to 50L size for my bug out bag. I have the say, out of all the channels on RUclips I'd say your channels the most informative. Your very good at explaining and covering the details of what your reviewing. People including myself, appreciate that very much. I just got the Vanquest Javelin 3.0 VSlinger today . It's just what I needed for my edc.

    • @learningtobeprepared4866
      @learningtobeprepared4866  7 лет назад

      +Rusty Bosley : Hi, Rusty. I apologize for the late reply. I did read your comment when you first posted, but I was busy and unable to respond. Again, thank you for the kind words. I think you will enjoy the Javelin. I've used this bag as well. My biggest encouragement is to not overload it. The bag does not have a design flaw, it's simply not designed to carry heavy loads as far as being a one strap bag. In general. Sling packs are not known to be comfortable with heavy load outs. If you are in the states and would like to chat via phone, you can email me at learningtobeprepared@gmail.com and we can exchange numbers.

      They do sell a larger vanquest bag called the Markor I believe great bag I’m a small guy and 31 liters is perfect even for a bugout especially with all the strapping options for blankest pots etc. plus I use the Hidden woodsman haversack with it well made small American company very convenient when u don’t want to carry everything especially when leaving camp to pick edibles hunting fishing or just going for a stroll.

    Hi there, thank you for performing this review. There is one outstanding thought which is the waterbottle holder, I always had this fear that the waterbottle might leak and hence i felt it was imperative that i place it outside, hence selecting the trident. Nonetheless, under the trident, it seems that the waterbottle holder is competing for space on the side pocket as well. Is it true?

    • @learningtobeprepared4866
      @learningtobeprepared4866  5 лет назад

      Good morning, Jason. First, I wanted to thank you for watching the video. Second, I would agree that in most packs that I’ve tested and evaluated, using any pocket that shares a wall with another pocket typically runs the risk of ‘space stealing’ (at least in smaller packs 😂). Unfortunately I don’t have this bag with me to check this one specifically. I have contacted Vanquest for you this morning, and if I hear back soon, I’ll update you, Jason 😀.

    Hello, im looking to purchase one of these packs. My question is, I’m in the military and running around patrols etc. I need to be able to fit a spare uniform (one set) top and bottom, the water blatter, hygiene kit, and possibly stuffing a sleeping bag with an mre. I’m currently looking into the trident. Only issue I come across is the size for running around. Any help can be appreciated. Thank you.

    A few years ago I picked up the Falconer 31
    What I found particular annoying was the zippers go around 2.5 sides and you can’t open up the compartments fully
    The volume is fine for a first aid kit but the accessibility is terrible
    I did send off a note to Vanquest but didn’t get a response so I wound up taking the gear bag to a cobbler and having them for a cost of $200 replace zippers so that to me and pouches would open up all the way even then we still have one maybe two remaining that don’t
    Why they couldn’t have made the zippers open up all the way and give us the option to be able to open it whatever way we want I don’t know maybe opening it up on two or three sides is cool but it’s not functional
    Things get lost down in the bottom where you have limited access.
    Would I purchase again? No, I’d search for something more functional.

    That's a review man, compliments!I have a question for you since you reviewd the Trident 20 and 31. I have a Javelin 3.0 that is a few liters smaller than the Trident 20, now i'd like to buy the Trident 31 but i can't picture in my head how much bigger it is. I know all the measurements and the capacity but i don't understand how much more gear it can hold. Any advice would be very appreciated since Im from Italy and I can't touch the pack before purchasing it online.

      Hey! First of all, I wanted to say thank you for taking time to watch the video and to leave a comment 😀. Thank you as well for the kind words.
      Ok. So, the Javelin 3.0 is about 17 liters I believe. The Trident-31 is 31 liters. So, it’s ‘about 2x larger. I think that the Trident-31 is huge compared to the Javelin 3.0. Are you on Instagram by chance? If so, what is your account name?

    • @lt9568
      @lt9568 6 лет назад

      First of all Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, I know you get a lot of them every day.About Instagram not yet, but when I'll do I'll make sure to follow your profile.I see you have a 5.11 Rush 12 right? I had one. How much bigger is the Trident 31 than the Rush 12.The Rush is designed in a way it could really swallow evrything I used to put in it, and packed to the gills it would hold a lot of gear. Wonder if the way in which the Trident 31 is designed will allow me to fill it with more gear.

    Why does the Trident look bigger the the Falconer? 1 litre more shouldn't make that big of a size difference

    • @learningtobeprepared4866
      @learningtobeprepared4866  6 лет назад

      TeaDoubleE85: First, Thank you for taking the time to watch! Second, I believe that the Trident 31 is about 1 1/2” taller than the Falconer 30. Also, the Trident is a padded pack and it always holds its shape. The Falconer is more baggy so to speak and isn’t designed to be as form fitting. So, the Trident looks taller because it literally is and it’s padded walls don’t sag 😀👍

    Debating which to get. Mostly for military use/ drill weekend/ EDC. I like to use pouches for my electronic/medical/tool items. Also love the idea of a laptop sleeve (13in MacBook Air). Bag would be for probably just an additional military uniform/gym clothes possibly.
    Love the tridents front pouch, as well as top admin pouch. I like the idea of the main pouch, but not sure how well it will be for my needs.
    Love that the falconer has 2 separate large compartments, but unsure if the main large compartment would be large enough for clothes I want to store. Also, wish the falconer came with a water bottle holder, as I carry a takeya 32oz everyday.
    Any suggestions on which one to ultimately choose? Thanks!

Now, right off the bat, since you would like to carry extra cloths, I think the falconer would carry clothes more easily. Vanquest has a very nice water bottle attachment that may work well on the falconer (I can’t remember if there is Molly loops on the sides of the bag, tho

      Vanquest has larger bags, but they don’t have the design of the trident larger than the 31. 👍. I don’t know if anyone else who makes that design.
