This is a review over the new Sanctuary Hills shelter and Trackhouse prefab just added to Fallout 76. Keep in mind you can only place the new Trackhouse ONCE in the new shelter!
I'm still waiting on double sided walls and let us put nonfunctional water resources in our shelter. I need sinks in my bathrooms and kitchens in my shelters.

The new shelter is cool. The mountains and stuff kinda remind me of halo a little bit, but yeah without shadows it looks kinda rough in spots. The actual house is nice though.
White picket fences don’t clip together, white clean kitchen cupboards and cabinets aren’t placeable in the house. Prefab house only, no floors or walls to build your own. No flat area without grass, when you place the house it has grass showing up through the floor. If you raise the height of the house, then the porch area isn’t flat with the ground, so a car is pointless to put there. Can’t place curtains on the windows and the blinds don’t look right. Whole thing hasn’t been thought out.
Really wish they would fix the lighting in the "vaults" that are outdoors... The crazy brightness is just too much. It's like the sun can see through my roofs and walls.
The Vaults only look like they are outdoors. They are vaults, no sun, artificial light. They are meant to simulate an outdoor environment, whilst actually not.
If you have a few of the other pre fabs, it can be filled in with a neighborhood. Mix of that with the right wall types, it’ll look like a town. But no we cannot place 10 of these new house pre-fab, only just 1 unfortunately
This is my issue as well so asked for a refund. I understand how they do this with prefabs but I thought in this situation the bundle is obviously to create a neighborhood similar to fallout 4. And I have other prefabs but they don't look anything like this house. Show in turn the neighborhood looks stupid and out of place. And I do have other newer looking house models that are kits but I'm not going to spend the time to build and decorate five other houses because I spend a lot of time when I build I don't half ass anything and it would just take entirely too much time to have houses looking out of place. Especially when the houses are all supposed to look similar in design because that's how they are intended to look. It just looks ridiculous next to a nice clean house and on the other end of the ship or a military style looking building😂 my OCD just won't allow it.
@@davidandrex2 My approach is to use the new prefab in a camp build on the regular map. And in the New shelter I'm building a smallish community using the walls and stuff I've acquired over time, that way in the shelter my buildings will somewhat match or fit in together.
Thanks for the review. Two other ppl I follow feel the shadows and lighting are horrible too - one is tilted over the blue of the door not matching the blue of the ammo box which doesn’t match the blue of the scrap box or tent - and none are “vt” blue - like they lost the hex code for the “right” blue and used the slider or something 😂😂 that said I like it - but it’s a little similar to some of the other outdoor vaults so I’m not sure I’m down. We will see. As a new player I like the options and assets - but I see everyone’s points
Pretty standard practice, actually. People cheer when the Sims devs add classic assets as well. And why not celebrate bringing back fan favorites? Who would go to a concert where the famous band only play new songs? We all cheer when they sing their hits.
They should've done an alternate shelter entrance for the new cul-de-sac to look like a Corvega ar the little three wheeled car (forgot the name of it) like they did with the camp shelter having a bus.
sadly there is a hard limit of 1 house right now, so you can't even make the "neighborhood". We're also still missing a lot of the clean pre war options for a lot of furniture. Also try as I might I had no luck getting the modern kitchen wall decor to place, kept giving the annoying overlap message, though the floor parts placed fine. Also we can't place the sink because they don't exist for shelters and unless i've missed one, I think the only clean modern kitchen stove we have is from the ally yasmin, which also won't work for a shelter. sad days.
This!!! Everything you said I had the exact same problems but I was not aware that I couldn't get my clean bathtub or sink. I did manage to get my clean toilet and walk in shower but then everything I added look completely out of place. Yeah I was pretty upset by this I had to ask for my first refund and I've been playing since launch.
@@chokethewoke3412 you can place the clean tub too, its just in another category instead of where you would expect it being with the toilet or dirty tub, just another of the many weird organization of some items. At this point with how much stuff we have they need to really look into adding more and better organized sub categories and a search function.
I think the big shelter entrances are annoying. Some of them would dominate any base you build. If you want a tiny shack build as your base this Sanctuary shelter entrance will not fit the vibe. It would be nice if you could choose a more discreet design.

You can only place 1 prefab in the shelter?! I was 1000% gonna buy this but now im second guessing. Whats the point of giving us a neighborhood but can only place 1 house? I hope that was an over sight.
Hard cap of only one prefab house in this shelter is a shame since nothing I have matches it or is even close. I have wished for a while that we could control lighting in our outside shelters, or at least use weather control stations, but so far we're stuck with zero light cycle. I still think the 1800 atom price is acceptable, but for me the summer camp is still far better than this. Regardless, thanks for the video and take care.
I love the new prefab it has some issues with the walls as most prefabs do with placing certain objects I’d like them to give us the option to get the screen/glass door along with the regular doors from the house from fallout 4 along with some of the prewar furniture as well
I decked out mine as a full city commune complete with super market, fire station, blacksmith and bowling ring. Has a lot of budget compared to other shelters.
It’s cool to see an asset, but truth be told it’s not the biggest challenge to take a preexisting asset and port it over. The Sanctuary Shelter is nice for the Shelter’s surroundings, not really the fact that it’s Sanctuary Hills.
Yeah… I only nabbed the house and found a nice spot in the Forest Region to build/decorate my version of the prefab house. Too bad I can’t shove the clean shower in the bathroom properly because it snaps into the walls and turns red…
i was waiting in anticipation for this shelter, but im really just disappointed. why couldnt we have a cute prewar car take us into the shelter, much like the bus that takes you into the summer camp shelter?? i dont see the appeal of what they gave us instead. and why the invisible barrier??? at that point, just dont put up the concrete walls. the concrete walls in itself are an eyesore, but now i cant even go into the wooded areas of the shelter and set up a nice picnic or something. the house not coming in different colors and only being able to place one. and it doesnt even come in the iconic teal blue color 💀 i feel like the terrace bundle shouldve come with additional clean decor items and not just reskins. we need more clean options and this wouldve been the perfect time for them. not to mention, i wish theyd just like us place resources in camps purely as decor 💔 so many ideas that i cant quite do because it requires a resource of some sort. this has nothing to do with the bunde, but im just so bummed out 😭 its a beautiful shelter, i just wish i could do more with it. i want it to be better
There’s another problem with the shelter if you’re building the kitchen and want to build a sink in it or even in the bathroom you can’t and that’s a real bummer.
Forget the pre-fab give us a building kit so we can build our own FO 4 neighborhood. Bethesda will never admit that shelters were a flop day 1 but they keep pushing them on us. Every time theres a daily challenge in FO76 to visit someones shelter..... 9 out 10 of them will be completely empty ! Not a hater. I love Fallout 4 & 76 between them both I have over 10,000hrs of building & gameplay Thank you for the video ✌️😎
Honestly, I don’t really mind these shortcomings. I was always hoping to have a Sanctuary Hills house style prefab. It gives me ideas for building the quintessential American dream home of the 1950s that the pre-war Fallout era never got out of.

I also got the shelter. I like it, but the lighting is janky asf, and im on ps5, so i feel really bad for any ps4 user who gets it. And i find sometimes if you free cam it high up, you get some random long dark spots that look like they WANTED to be shadows, but arent attached to anything. Glad the floor doesnt glitch like the summer camp. Im pretty sure the only shelters i dont have are the silos, the ones with cellar doors, and the vault atrium, so i know at least with the vaults i do have, excluding the summmer camp, that they did better with the lighting. Also i REALLY dont like how the prefab just HAS to stomp out like 3 meters in front and behind it. But not at the sides, you allowed to keep your grass at the sides. And im really mad you cant go right up and build at the gate opening to make it look like a closed community.
I really love this house HOWEVER it is severely broken. There are placement issues all over the place. Fore example, for most of the interior walls (any wall not touching the exterior) it is impossible to place picture, shelves or other items. Anything you try to place appears to move exactly 90 degrees to how you wan to place it. Also, as to the Sanctuary Hills shelter, anyone getting it would logically want to re-make Sanctuary, but Bethesda has decided that you can only build ONE of the new houses, making for a very lame recreation. Also it is baffling why they would sell this huge shelter, yet make it so nearly half of it is unavailable since you can't get closer that one house width (or more) to any of the walls. Hell, you can't even get close enough to the entrance to add a gate!
Seen it all before in fallout 4, looks like they are running out of already made assets from 76 to sell. Now they are just pulling assets from older games, it's a shame they don't design more original content, what next megaton houses from fallout 3 ?.
So something you get from a mod for free on Fallout 4 is something you have to get through the atomic shop? Even the pre-fab structure is like identical. mind you it was an asset the mod enabled that was always in the game.
We aren't going to be able to do anything. You can't even build in half of the shelter and we can't use sinks in shelters. So a community with no sinks that shelter is going to set unused unless they refund my purchase.
This shelter was honestly pretty lazily built. First off, the lighting is obnoxiously bright for a post apocalyptic shelter similar to the pioneer scouts camp one. Secondly you can't built around the entrance area so if you want to built a guard post like most gated communities have, you're out luck. Finally you cannot build more than 1 of these prefabs in the entire area. Personally I think Bethesda needs to update this shelter. Iv you're going to port assets over from a past fallout game, don't lazily forget shadows and the fact you literally cannot build a neighborhood in a neighborhood...
Yet they bring more of the same from Fo4, yet since launch they have yet to fix the blue screening issue that has angered the greater majority of the players dropping during events.
When BGS gets so thirsty they release assets from a 10 year old game with bugs aplenty and still have the audacity to charge half the price of the GOTY price of where it’s coming from. 😅
Love the prefab just wish it came with curtains like the house in fallout 4 because you can’t place any curtains down was a pain placing the modern cabinets down but I did get them down over all I love it the shelter is a waste of atoms so much wasted space and why have that as the entrance don’t make sense
@@allyg8846 well first I placed the top cabinets at first it seems like it did not wanna place onto the wall but I just kept trying to place it down a couple times and it was ok pretty easy 🙂
If I'm being honest, this bundle is kind of a letdown. You get a new Shelter which is enclosed by a surrounding wall but yet a good chunk of the actual build space can't be built on. That makes zero sense. Why have a border wall when the interior build space can't even fully be used. Another thing which is kinda lame is the fact that the actual Triumph Terrace Shelter is designed to build an actual Fallout 4 inspired neighborhood. How the heck can you actually build a legit neighborhood when the prefab house included has a limit of only being able to build and place 1? These two aspects definitely need to be adjusted. Yes. The new Shelter is really nice, as is the prefab home. I'm just annoyed with the ridiculous limitations this game always seems to have which makes no sense.
@@duncan6987 As am I. In my opinion I would really like to see the various camp related objects such as sinks, refrigerators, etc include "dummy" versions which act simply as static items. The butterfly sanctuary includes one so we know it's entirely possible. Oh, and all the outdoor based Shelters reeeeeeally need dynamic time of day. I keep looking at my Flatlands Shelter and Pioneer Camp Shelter builds and can't help but think just how fantastic they would look under a nighttime sky.
Bought it straight away and didn't regret it. Great shelter and house to build a small housing estate. It's just a shame that you can only build it once but otherwise no defects👍

Yep... Nothing says post apocalypse like... Suburbia. I have never understood why people seem to think this is like the be all end all of camp building options. Like I dunno. If it was me I might actually try to build an actual fort with a bunker or something. Or at least build in a location that was naturally protected in some way... Call me crazy. I just feel like the art direction for this game has drifted so far away from the gritty post-apocalyptic feel of the earlier games. It started in Fallout 4 and has been getting steadily worse ever since. Another example: The Marshall Mallow T shirt and shorts... With Birkenstock sandals. Like really? This is what we are doing now? Like ok do some campy pioneer scouts stuff whatever. But this game just gets to be more and more of a joke. Or just is unable to take itself seriously, the more it goes on.

Only 1 of the new prefabs can be placed, you can build your own, or place the other prefabs.

Shelters should allow everything a camp offers. Allies, resources and Fast Travel directly to them without the need to place them.

I really don't like how this one looks even though I have the summer shelter. The bad lighting is way more noticable.
I would be happy if they just opened up some of the in-game closed buildings.

95 percent of fallout76 is fallout 4 assets. Lower texture quality ones at that. This game is literally just fallout 4 multiplayer and always has been
I’m curious to know with this huge shelter just how much build space you have?
Could be a lot of wasted space.
So something you get from a mod for free on Fallout 4 is something you have to get through the atomic shop? Even the pre-fab structure is like identical. mind you it was an asset the mod enabled that was always in the game.

We aren't going to be able to do anything. You can't even build in half of the shelter and we can't use sinks in shelters. So a community with no sinks that shelter is going to set unused unless they refund my purchase.
This shelter was honestly pretty lazily built. First off, the lighting is obnoxiously bright for a post apocalyptic shelter similar to the pioneer scouts camp one. Secondly you can't built around the entrance area so if you want to built a guard post like most gated communities have, you're out luck. Finally you cannot build more than 1 of these prefabs in the entire area. Personally I think Bethesda needs to update this shelter. Iv you're going to port assets over from a past fallout game, don't lazily forget shadows and the fact you literally cannot build a neighborhood in a neighborhood...
Yet they bring more of the same from Fo4, yet since launch they have yet to fix the blue screening issue that has angered the greater majority of the players dropping during events.

It's a waste of atoms. Invisible walls and can only build one accurate prefab. Not worth it.
"new content" is always pre existing things they like to charge money for.
They makw you pay for stuff thats been part of the map since Day 1.
When BGS gets so thirsty they release assets from a 10 year old game with bugs aplenty and still have the audacity to charge half the price of the GOTY price of where it’s coming from. 😅

Such a great reminder that Bethesda completely ruined fallout 4 with its update and made it completely unplayable for console players.

Love the prefab just wish it came with curtains like the house in fallout 4 because you can’t place any curtains down was a pain placing the modern cabinets down but I did get them down over all I love it the shelter is a waste of atoms so much wasted space and why have that as the entrance don’t make sense
Can I ask how you did the cabinets? I haven’t tried yet but saw a few comments that it couldn’t be done.
@@allyg8846 well first I placed the top cabinets at first it seems like it did not wanna place onto the wall but I just kept trying to place it down a couple times and it was ok pretty easy 🙂
Also, I don't approve of washed up fallout 4 items keep showing up in shop. I paid for Fallout 4 already I'm supposed to be paying for 76

If I'm being honest, this bundle is kind of a letdown.
You get a new Shelter which is enclosed by a surrounding wall but yet a good chunk of the actual build space can't be built on.
That makes zero sense.
Why have a border wall when the interior build space can't even fully be used.
Another thing which is kinda lame is the fact that the actual Triumph Terrace Shelter is designed to build an actual Fallout 4 inspired neighborhood.
How the heck can you actually build a legit neighborhood when the prefab house included has a limit of only being able to build and place 1?
These two aspects definitely need to be adjusted.

In my opinion I would really like to see the various camp related objects such as sinks, refrigerators, etc include "dummy" versions which act simply as static items.
The butterfly sanctuary includes one so we know it's entirely possible.
Oh, and all the outdoor based Shelters reeeeeeally need dynamic time of day.
I keep looking at my Flatlands Shelter and Pioneer Camp Shelter builds and can't help but think just how fantastic they would look under a nighttime sky.

A cool idea would be if you could set rules in your shelters. Like no mutations. Respawn point to have a contained pvp space.

Bought it straight away and didn't regret it. Great shelter and house to build a small housing estate. It's just a shame that you can only build it once but otherwise no defects👍

I have never understood why people seem to think this is like the be all end all of camp building options. Like I dunno. If it was me I might actually try to build an actual fort with a bunker or something. Or at least build in a location that was naturally protected in some way...

I just feel like the art direction for this game has drifted so far away from the gritty post-apocalyptic feel of the earlier games.
It started in Fallout 4 and has been getting steadily worse ever since.

The Marshall Mallow T shirt and shorts... With Birkenstock sandals.

But this game just gets to be more and more of a joke. Or just is unable to take itself seriously, the more it goes on.
