I received my Porter Cable impact wrench 2 weeks ago. The first thing I did was apply di-electric grease to the motor fan like they have the tendency for the plastic to weld itself to. I have used it to remove the pinion nut on my mustangs rear diff, driveshaft bolts, axle nuts and lawn mower blades on our riding lawn mower. I am very impressed with this $85 impact on ebay!

Since my small air compressor won't run an old impact, I have had to resort to using my 24" breakover with part of the handle from my floor jack as a cheater to break lug nuts loose on truck for years! I have looked at all the video reviews of both corded and battery operated 1/2" impact wrenches. Not needing an everyday tool, I decided on this Hammerhead 7.5 amp corded 1/2" impact wrench. The reviews and ratings were decent, and so for under $60 on Amazon, I "pulled" the trigger on this purchase. Am I glad I did! I just completed a job that required me to remove the rear wheels on my 2008 F150. As usual, I had to use the old cheater on them. This time for the front wheel, I used the Hammerhead. The video speaks for itself! The tool is a nice weight, the hog ring anvil fit my impact perfectly. The special wheel socket came off once when I pulled the tool off of the stud, but the impact socket stayed on, and it was easy to pull off. I sqeezed the toggle switch for forward after hand tightening the lugs and let it go after 1 second as the nuts made contact with the wheel. Then I used my torque wrench and tightened the lugs by hand to 150 ft lbs as recommended by Ford. (I used a bit of anti-seize on the lugs before reinstalling.) I would highly recommend this Hammerhead 7.5 Amp impact wrench for home use!

you say you had to use a cheater bar to break the lug nuts loose. so why do you like that tool?

I don’t like to use a cheater bar, since along with the lug nuts, the cheater sometimes busts your knuckles!

not really. gotta be a goober to bust knuckles with a cheater bar. @@Rbenterprises4

I have the Porter Cable impact. It's a beast, but be warned it does have a manufacturer flaw. The plastic cooling fan can get hot enough to weld itself to the plastic retainer. When that happens it will lock up. Mine did this last week. It looks pretty simple to disassemble it, snap the weld apart, clean it up, apply some silicone lube, reassemble and keep on turning. That's my project for this weekend.

Where does the grease need to be applied?

Did you actually test these impacts?
To be sure the torque outputs are actually close to what you are so easily saying in this video
