Wow, I thought Wang Chung was just another cruddy bubble gum act back in the 80's and didn't pay much attention to them but they were clearly outstanding performers. Thanks for posting this.
The new wave pop Happy style is really underrated and they were good at it with also a bit of the dark side with to live and die in LA soundtrack. They are perfect.
this is one of my favorite songs by them i found it on one of those music channels that plays only music on TV then i got the CD and loved a lot of their other songs besides "Everybody have tonight" which they are mostly known for.
This is the same performance of the song that they did at the Rtiz. If you want an accoustic version that's a bit clearer, try that one. Hopefully one day we get a higher quality version of this.
@@germanicelt Whoever was mixing them. But its live. A harmoniser effect and compressor on Jacks vocals but he is actually singing. As were Seidah and the bass player, saxophonist and the girl playing percussion. When you get 5 part vocals its gonna sound very big.
Jonathan Roman They kind of screwed up the whole thing on national TV. I think when Jack Hues fumbled the mike at the opening of the song he missed a beat and the band never did quite recover from it. The stress of performing live on TV back in those days had to be tremendous and especially on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson of all places.
So lucky to be alive in the 80's! Best time of my life, young, newly married and dancing to songs like this in the Toronto clubs with my hot wife!
I love that they didnt lipsync and sang this all the way home. i love this
You're Cashin in on this.
I'd rather a real performance with a few stuff up's than lipsyncin the official version.
Man I miss that decade!😢
Saw these guys play in a small venue (about 1400 capacity) in 87. They ripped the roof off. Great show.

This is a really fun uplifting song.
Absolutely. I must have first heard it as a small kid probably on someone's stereo. I loved it even then.
This is stellar.
Wonderful 80's......for ever!!
He really sing the same live. Loved this band ❤️❤️
wow that sounds perfect and they actually sang, love it!!!!
Seeing them live in Toronto at the historic El Mocombo Club next week! Can't wait !
We were better people in the 80's.
Love this song
.....so very much!!
Love this 80's music, just so uplifting by the great WC.
I wish we still had bands like this...
2021-October, anyone outta listening? Some of the best years of our happy life.

@@bodyslamchannel Rock On. 😁
Siedah is too freakin cute
Thanks for posting this gem. These guys could really sing live and still do.
That's Siedah Garrett on backup vocals!
Damn, they sounded excellent live!! Awesome tune.

This song reminds me of long road trips on summer holidays around 1986-88 when I was in high school.
pretty good job for being live sounds like the studio version
Super rare video!!! especially with Sidah Garrett??
Excellent 80's song
I love this song!
It's sound remembers me "The 1975" band (Matty Healy)

The live versions sound sooo much better than the album version 😞 it sucks because there are no high quality live versions to purchase.
Get the YTD downloader. You can d/l the video & then convert it to an mp3. Works great.
THEY ARE THE BEST! That's all there is to it.
Playing LIVE on TV
No gimmicks
Excelente banda .y que buenos años los 80.
Grande Wang Chung.
I remember this from The Tonight Show. Good to see this again.
The bass guitar... 😍
He messed-up though.
She's a jackson.
@@owenslaw7364 He play loud. He like it!
this is... just great
this is brilliant thanks so much!
100% live... the bass is slightly overpowering though at the beginning. Love the basslines! 😍
I noticed that too. Was that Wang or Chung's fault?
@@germaniceltprobably not.

@@philsterthephilster I appreciate they didn't lip synch and their live performances sound just as good as the official songs.
@@germanicelt They were famous for being an excellent live act in the 80s.
Sieda Garrett lookin good and energized!
She still looks amazing
lolI I used to have hair like the girl playing the tambourine..it was all about how high the hair could go. lotsa aquanet
and the panties
I like Jack's purple jacket.
No...the backing vocalist is Siedah Garrett.
It was really nice for Macgyver to fill in as the 'sax guy'.
awesome!!
That was cool!!!
This song is treatment for depression.
Wang Chung are brilliant jeff swansea
My fave of them!!!Popastic!!!!!
Absolutely fuckin brill....
Sideah Garett.
This band is like a more awesome version of Huang Chung....
rock and roll yeah
This must've been Seidahs breakout year. She also wrote and sung on "I Just cant stop loving you" with Michael
On my b-day amazing
2021? Anyone?...
earned a sub. + like simply Awesome!
Anybody recognize legendary song writer sietta Garrett on the right?
Live!
I actually think this song sounds better in this octave. Too bad that's now how they recorded it originally.
Fucking Banger!!
They skipped a verse at 1:55

they only allowed 4 min of song - SNL used to and looks like The Tonight Show did too
great over looked song though...……….is the keyboard player out of key at the beginning ?
Still sounded great... though!!!
I'm not sure about that i did some bad shit that i hope stays in the 80's !
Orgys?
Jack Hues kinda reminded me of Ed Begley, Jr.
Gone, baby, gone!
The bass and lead guitar(s) are too loud in some parts of the song.
increíble la concha que los pario
We were people, just people. I have no idea this generation got so fu#ked up.
Who is that lady dancing?
Siedah Garret. She sang a duet with Michael Jackson and background for many other big names during the 80’s.
Ross definitely should have played guitar and not bagpipe!!!😜😜
it's not 80's pop/rock with out the sax.
For a moment I thought that was Macgyver, from the side view. The 80s nostalgia would've been off the charts if it were.
0:21 FAIL!
Who cares?
Just go with it
