I always thought Shrinaui went to the future first to help ammy,gets injured there,returns back to his time,goes to get the amber to enter the cave but gets frozen,and then after being freed by Chibi he goes to the moon cave.

Okay, what happened was, after Shiranui died, the villagers made a statue in her honor. Sakuya brought Shiranui's spirit back into the body of the statue, bringing her back to life. They are the same deity, just in a slightly different body, and weaker because she died and very few people believed in the gods anymore. Also, it shows you that Ammy is Shiranui at the end of Ōkami.
Mizuchi doesn't really look like a water or ice dragon, he looks more like one of the beasts, which makes sense. Fire Beast, Ice Beast, Spark Beast, Death Beast, Dino Beast.
Actually amateratsu is the reincarnation of shiranui so, can be that chibi's granpa or some kind of dad, but I vote on the granpa theory. Sorry if I misspelled any of those names.
Personally I think you both have a point but maybe God Reincarnation is like Asexual reproduction or something. So Amaterasu is Shiranui yet also Shiranui's daughter in a sense. They made a point to note the fact that Shiranui is male and Amaterasu is female despite being reincarnated, but in Okami it was said that Gods were Legendary Pokemon, and by that I mean they're gender-less. And that means. Chibi's father is DITTO! No not really, but that would be funny.
If it goes perfectly well with the continuity, why is it that when you visit Ponc'tan in Okami, Isshaku refers to the player as "Ammy" when he sees them? Not to mention, the statue in Kamiki that Amaterasu was resurrected from was said to be a statue of "Shiranui", which makes me draw the conclusion that Ammy and Shiranui are the same wolf, just at different levels of power. Also, not once in Okami did they ever say Shiranui was male.

people are trying to justify it, but from Okami, Ishaku outright calls Ammy, well, Ammy. Shiranui was the name she was given by the villagers, not her actual name. I feel this is more just, either the writing team never actually played okami, or the translation team did but only gave it a cursory playthrough, not really examining the text and likely skimmed through the game's script.

When you meet Isshaku in Okami, he calls you Ammy. That is because Isshaku were Amaterasu's companion 100 years before the events of Okami. Shiranui is the name given to her by the villagers in Kamiki. That is my opinion :)

I hate the Mizuchi fight with a passion because everytime I fight him, I try to light the cannon and end up either melting the icicle above his neck or waiting too long to end up with him knocking Manpuku away. I have no way around this because I'm not that good with lines and directions so I end up taking a long while just chipping his health away slowly. What made this fight so bad for me, however, was the fact I didn't unlock the 3rd tier upgrades so I was busy chipping his health away with the sun beads.

I should have paid more attention to the wording, so that's my bad. But if Shiranui is the wolf's given name, I'm still at odds about Ishaku referring to her as "Ammy", and why Ammy would bother switching genders. My logic is that the Japanese sun goddess is female, so I figured that her earthly incarnations are all female.
I see what you're getting at but there's a problem. Issun didn't have any contact with Ponc'tan before Ammy brought him back to it. It's mentioned a few times that no one had heard from Issun since he left. As for Ammy's markings, at that point in time Ishaku's eyesight is shot, so he couldn't see her markings anyway, and recognizes her based on her bark. He's surprised to 'see' her again and can sence she's weaker, and suggests she look for a new envoy since he assumes she doesn't have one.
We don't know for sure. The game never makes references to him, but consider that there was no reason to at all, plus he hadn't been designed by Capcom when Okami was released (and thus took place relative to real time).

ik that the game says that, but i believe (and so do other people) that after amaterasu defeated yami, he went through the spirit gate and went and done everything shiranui did. this is why you do not see amaterasu after okami, and that in the yami/amaterasu battle she gained shiranui's tentacles of light (showing, she became shiranui)
I love the Tales series, but when Chugga mentioned jerkish sidequests the first thing that came to mind was the Tales of Symphonia collector's book. You have to do three playthroughs, and that's only if you use your grade to carry over the collector book info in future playthrough.

Shiranui says "yeah, i'm fine", "Orochi must be stopped" Chibi says "we'll go, you rest up", "yeah", "bye" Shiranui says "he's my grandson", "he came here from the future to stop an evil from his time" Amaterasu's strange behaviour explained here.

Definitly admit unless someone had completed Tales of Vesperia multiple times they would need guide to get all Sidequest completed. Especially one for a weapon of one character. That flag becomes available before you even meet them or join your party.
Uhmm.. may I remind you that Shiranui being injured occured AFTER he traveled through the spirit gate, which in turn was AFTER the True Orochi fight which hasn't happened yet?
One thing I like is how Shiranui looks badass, Ammy looks pretty cool and Chibi looks simple. The supernatural evil and good, demons and gods, both lost complexity and power over time, as mankind took its place in the world, one can assume. I guess it makes sense, in another way. They must both be in balance, and whenever good wins, it also pays the price of weakening like the evil it destroys.
This part was always hard for me. Not the battle, but just seeing Shiranui so weak and knowing he's going to his death...It's like seeing him in the Wawku Shrine all over again.

Alternate title: Manpuku become a Dragon Slayer, and Chibi meets his grandfather. My goodness though, that dragon trapped in the ice looks far more like something from Jurassic Park, rather than a Water Dragon like Otohime or King Wada.

I thought Shiranui was just the name given to Amaterasu by the Kamiki villagers because they didn't recognise her as a God and that Shiranui was just Amaterasu in her strongest form, considering that Ishaku recognises her as Ammy in Okami and that Ameterasu takes on the form and Divine Instrument of Shiranui at the end of Okami when faith in her is restored by Issun.
Do we know that for sure? Shiranui turns into a stone statue, but Amaterasu is still awake, or else, as demonstrated in the ending, the sun would have disappeared. So Ammy has to be in the Celestial Plain, which means that Ammy could logically have had Chibi in that time frame. Also, the Celestial Plain could have time flowing at a different speed from the mortal world, which means that 100 years "mortal time" could be 2 years "god time", so Chibi would still be young.
Well then that means that something happened between then and now that just isn't seen. We understand a lot of unexplained stuff from Okami because of this game and what we see in it, maybe we're just missing stuff like we did when the first game came out.

Tales sidequests are infuriating, but there are so many that it's pretty much guaranteed you'll stumble into a few of them.

It was explained that it was. When you visit Ishaku he calls her "Ammy" not "Shiranui". And he says that she hadn't changed a bit.

Definitly admit unless someone had completed Tales of Vesperia multiple times they would need guide to get all Sidequest completed. Especially one for a weapon of one character. That flag becomes available before you even meet them or join your party.
Uhmm.. may I remind you that Shiranui being injured occured AFTER he traveled through the spirit gate, which in turn was AFTER the True Orochi fight which hasn't happened yet?
One thing I like is how Shiranui looks badass, Ammy looks pretty cool and Chibi looks simple.
The supernatural evil and good, demons and gods, both lost complexity and power over time, as mankind took its place in the world, one can assume.
I guess it makes sense, in another way. They must both be in balance, and whenever good wins, it also pays the price of weakening like the evil it destroys.
This part was always hard for me. Not the battle, but just seeing Shiranui so weak and knowing he's going to his death...It's like seeing him in the Wawku Shrine all over again.
Hey chuggaa question...now before I ask I just wanna say this is by no means a request. I love your lps all of them...but I have never seen a rpg on your channel I mean I know you've played a couple like kh, ff, and the tales series. So my question is would consider doing a lp of an rpg? your choice of course...I would really appreciate a response a personal message will surfice or just a quick yes or no in video or maybe even " who knows lets see what the future holds".
I love the Tales series, but I never play through one without a guide simply because I have learned how easy it is to miss things.
It really irks my ire, but I still love 'em.

My goodness though, that dragon trapped in the ice looks far more like something from Jurassic Park, rather than a Water Dragon like Otohime or King Wada.

I thought Shiranui was just the name given to Amaterasu by the Kamiki villagers because they didn't recognise her as a God and that Shiranui was just Amaterasu in her strongest form, considering that Ishaku recognises her as Ammy in Okami and that Ameterasu takes on the form and Divine Instrument of Shiranui at the end of Okami when faith in her is restored by Issun.
16:32 there is a typo in the game text Isshaku says "what you'll go the moon cave with us" it should say go to the moon cave with us. LoL capcom!!
Do we know that for sure? Shiranui turns into a stone statue, but Amaterasu is still awake, or else, as demonstrated in the ending, the sun would have disappeared. So Ammy has to be in the Celestial Plain, which means that Ammy could logically have had Chibi in that time frame.
Also, the Celestial Plain could have time flowing at a different speed from the mortal world, which means that 100 years "mortal time" could be 2 years "god time", so Chibi would still be young.
Well then that means that something happened between then and now that just isn't seen. We understand a lot of unexplained stuff from Okami because of this game and what we see in it, maybe we're just missing stuff like we did when the first game came out.
o.O? Where did you get that from? The only thing I can think of that you mean are the Brush Gods separated from her at death. And Ammy, the one you play as, is a reincarnation.
But was it? They talk about how the people feared Shiranui for a long time, so what happened before his battle with Orochi?
