Welsh independence, just to then go and join the EU. Screw loose... we all need independence from Westminster. As not only Welsh but eng, Scot, n.ire suffer as well
Coming from a small European country ler me tell you that every smaller european nation sees EU membership as something that reinforces our sovereignty and independence. Smaller european nations have always been pushed around by the big powers. Conferences were almost always held by the big States with the smaller ones outside the room being told about their decisions after with no power whatsoever do change that decision. In the EU we are in the room. We can influence and often block those decisions or at the very least arrange for compensation or mitigation of decisions that harm us. Wales and Scotland would be in the same position, instead of just doing what the English tell them to do.
The thing I find amazing is these nationalists who want to leave the UK union where they say they get told what they can and can’t do in that union and then want to join the European Union where they will get told what they can and can’t do if they wanted to be TOTALLY independent then I would get it but not what they want I personally think it’s naïvety
