The Analogues perform 'Don't Pass Me By' by The Beatles during an integral rendition of The Beatles' White Album at the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool, August 24th, 2018.
The violinist is Camilla Van Der Kooij, not only is she a world class musician but there is something about her facial features that I find SO attractive, she also played on the Sgt. Pepper video, she is a pleasure to listen to and to look at.

Gosh! This was like a solo part except throughtout the whole song! And not even a slightest mistake and with such a seeming ease! It's just increadible!
I first heard this album while jn Korea, a friend had an 8 track tape of it. He didn't like it so he gave it to me. It wasn't until I plugged in my headsets znd listened did I really appreciate it. The stereo is fabulous, going back from one ear to the other😅. I would recommend everyone listen to it this way, especially Revolution no.9 to really hear the genius behind this album.
You are the best cover band by far! My dream is to listen to you live, but living in Argentina its a little hard... anyway, I still can hear some little diferences in the lyrics or for example in the drum solo in "the end" or little ajustments.. I can give you feedback anytime! hope to hear you live!!!!! congratulations you are the best
it was doubled tracked on the record, hence the 2 singers :) these guys are singing perfectly on pitch, even recreating ringo's nuances in the vocals. it's a wonderful performance!!!
I've always thought that you could take the violin out of this song and it would still be great and conversely you could take the rest of the song out of the violin solo and it would still be great, but put them both together and it's brilliant. This rendition is identical to the studio version on the White Album.
Their sound engineer/mixer is a genius. It sounds simple but pleasant and complete. Just perfect. Is it George Martin's relative, who's working with Analogues ? :-)
Ringo had written many songs before this one but Lennon and McCartney wouldn't put them on an album, they couldn't refuse this better than at least half the songs on the white album.
Great sound mix, great piano, bass, and vocals; drums and fiddle are however "too clean" for my taste, though... Obviously (too) classically-trained violinist that doesn't get the subtleties of the "swing-eights", so everything sounds "triplet-like", and it kinda makes the groove suffer... Drums need a bit more "dirt" around the fills, it's Ringo, after all, not Steve Gadd, there needs as well way more floor-tom fills to be authentic... Don't get me wrong, it's a great performance and a great rendition of a classic Beatles song, but the Beatles themselves didn't do it like that...
Don't Pass Me By was Ringo's first composition on a Beatles album & I think it's pretty damn good. The Beatles are one of the few bands that made consistently great albums. All killer & no filler. Except Revolution 9 which isn't even a song. I don't know what "lousy stuff" you're referring to.

Not viola, violin, you had it right - it's just tuned one step lower (FCGD) instead of the traditional (GDAE) in order to play in the original key! 👍
