Lived and worked at Makati for a period of 10 years. When I got married, we moved out to my husband's place in Iloilo. The things I considered before saying yes to moving out were:

Thank you for your podcasts they're really interesting and fun to listen to! I live in Antipolo and I find it very accessible whenever I have to go to the city because it's very close and when you get home you still get to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful trees. If ever you guys would want to add a city on your list try to check out Antipolo :). Antipolo has really nice subdivisions as well like Valley Golf, Beverly Hills, Fairmount hills, Havila, etc. (Land price is not as expensive compared to Manila) they are also mostly overlooking the city.

Being a newly wed couple and considering children in the future, one thing to consider is also the school system and the accessibility to medic services when you have more than the 2 of you in your family

I used to live in Manila when I was a kid and dreaded moving to Cavite. But after more than 10 years of living here, I must say it's more peaceful, in a way, compared to the busy streets of the Metro.

try to consider Antipolo. It's accessible to Ateneo, UP Diliman and Mirriam just in case. We have Asumption Antipolo also. :)

i hate traffic and commutes too. i like this work from home setup now. i also dont like hot places like beach. i prefer somewhere peaceful and cold like baguio or Antipolo. my plan is to have my own resthouse in antipolo and i want to surround myself with greens. and with an overlooking of the whole city.

We used to live in the province, Region 3 but we moved to Antipolo because of our kids' school. Yes, marami ring magagandang schools sa province pero iba din pa rin sa Ateneo, La Salle and UP Diliman. Renting is not a good option, please consider buying a house in Antipolo or Cainta - Greenwoods Subdivision or sa may malapit sa Sta Lucia mall, marami doon; it's not that expensive though. Rental fee should go na lang sa monthly amortization ng house. All the best Megan and Mikael!

We’re actually in the opposite situation moving from the province to the Metro because of work. The sucky 4 hour travel time everyday is too draining, we just get to enjoy the province to just sleep, it makes no sense. And no matter how long COVID is staying, things will already go back to normal here in PH. It’s inevitable.

I am also moving from Metro Manila. I am originally from Negros island but I studied college here but after 7 years and due to the pandemic I realized it is better in my province since I also need a fresh air, small town and no traffic environment kind of thing, now I am resigning from my work as a bpo employee and will be going home in september to permanently settle my life there.
