House of the Dragon episode 7, Driftmark, finds us at the seat of House Velaryon for Lady Laena’s funeral. It’s a chance for former friends to stare daggers at each other as the battle lines begin to be drawn. Aegon keeps drinking and chasing tail, while his brother Aemond is chasing the biggest, riderless dragon in Westeros, Vhagar. Rhaenyra and Alicent come to blows after their kids get into a tussle, while Viserys just tries to keep the peace and stay alive. Corlys and Rhaenys argue about what’s best for their remaining family. And Rhaenyra and Daemon decide to join forces and combine their families into a Targaryen version of the Brady Bunch. But before they do, they find a way to get Laenor out of the picture. Jessica Clemons and Brandon Barrick react to this episode and break down what’s possible for Laenor now that he is presumed dead by the world.

think the best thing to do would be for the princess and Damon to privately tell the sea snake and his wife that their son is actually alive and that all of this was a plan to keep their family in Bloodlines United while also granting the wish of their son. This might keep them from possibly becoming enemies in the future knowing that their son is okay and the choice was made for the stability of the family. Secondly it would be really interesting if he was actually going overseas with his lover to a group power to help the princess

Laenor can come back as one of his bastard twins and "claim" Seasmoke. I do really hope that the younger actor comes back to play Addam.

Baela and Rhaena are Targaryan not Velaryon. So I completely understand Corlys wanting Lucaerys to succeed him as lord of Driftmark and we may find out later that he didn't want to be a hypocrite 😉
If one of them is to inherit Driftmark they could still pass on the velaryon name but in the books they marry the twin bastards of "Laenor" that were legitimized by Rhaenyra.
They should betroth one of the girls to the younger boy so that Driftmark remains Valeryon in name and in blood.

Sorry if anyone wants to help clear this for me...so laenor was in on this plan right? Or did quarl have a change of heart and was like "yo these foos want u dead I got a plan then were skipping town"? Did anyone at that castle realize there was a guard missing that was used as the decoy? And damn for all this to work that random guar had to get killed for nothing.
No they were all in on the plan thats why Daemon say a quick death with witnesses and then kill the guard and laenor and qarl also fight until that boy is their to watch when the boy goes to alert the guards they put servants body into fire so he cannot be recognized..

Best episode of Rings of Power, revealing the origin of Uruks (Orcs) and a pretty intense battle. I would say this week both shows were equally satisfying and worth covering. Hope you do a bonus video for Rings of Power because this episode deserved it.

I think Adam Velaryon will be laenor posing as the bastard and thats why seasnake legitimizes him and makes the heir to driftwood throne .. and later on also to save him he risks his own life when Rhaenyra orders also dragonseeds to be killed he lets him know and helps him escape

Wait... you had to turn _on_ the closed captioning? It's not _always_ on? Do you realize how much information you miss without it? I always have to have it on and I'm not making an hour long discussion about it for RUclips where every detail matters. Turn it on, push through that initial phase where it's slightly distracting, and then thank me when you reach that moment where you'll never able to watch anything _without_ it.
What if Laenor DOES eventually have couple with a female in Essos and produce, eventually, Grey Worm? The 2 actors have similar furrowed brows and would be cool to know a half Targaryen eventually protected Daenarys Targaryen, 170y later.

I feel like we must be seeing the Stepstones and/or Essos with Laenor, otherwise why even change it so he lives?
I think it makes sense to let him live. He was honorable and kept his oath for the kingdom. Now he gets to live his life and that’s a better story than him being murdered at a fair
Could also be the writers trying to avoid the “bury your gays” trope, and just write him off with a happier ending than dying

@@awwhellnaw8214 go look at the Nielsen report. Rings of Power actually beat House of the Dragon for viewership in it’s first weekend (the report is always a few weeks behind as the data is collected). I am enjoying both shows very much, but yes, I like Rings of Power more.
