Persefone is so fucking good. Been a fan for years now. "Spiritual Migration" is one of the all time best prog metal albums.
i would argue it is one of the best Albums, full stop. Especially in the way you remember it as a whole album, instead of the individual songs.
This just hit my recommended today. Being andorran and a Persefone fan since the Truth Inside the Shades album (2005), I have to say they are really underrated and they should be more recognized. Technicality, composition, production, everything is amazing on these guys. Every album is a journey.
And a big thumbs up for the reaction videos you make, the amount of effort and research that you put in is impressive. I need to watch more of your videos.
Their two previous albums: "Spiritual Migration" and "Aathma" are masterpieces of prog metal. The new singles are on similar level, so I expect another awesome album. Nice to see you finally react to this band. I was suggesting it for several months actually, but I know you have hundreds of other requests too. Greetings:)

I've made my way through Spiritual Migration already and it's awesome, man. Can't believe I'm just now discovering this band.

Oh holy, I've never been this excited for a Tank video. Their Aathma album is one of my favorite albums ever. Also, they're like the most underrated band of all time and need exposure like this.

If you give their music repeated listens, you will find it is actually God Tier headbang material once you're used to the transitions and tricky rhythms and all that!

Great reaction as usual my man.. as a former roadie (25yrs ago) i learn a lot from you.. it was all analog back in my day😁.. having said that, you need to check out this band The Warning.. probably the most talented band in hard rock today.. XXI century blood was released when the members were 16, 14, and 12.. they are currently 21, 19, and 17.. Choke- live session is current and outstanding.. they are sisters from Mexico..

For anyone who hasn't listened to Persefone before, give "Living Waves" (features Paul from Cynic) a listen.. it's just beautiful. Spiritual Migration and Prison Skin are other good popular starting points.
man that vocal effect part with the clean part following it sends me to the fucking stars, this is by far my favorite song from this album and probably from Persefone my favorite band

You should check out „Wilderun - Far from Where Dreams Unfurl“. A very nice song of a progressive metal band from Boston. Got onto them because of their cover art from their album „Veil of Imagination“ but stuck there for their sound!

As a Greek, Metanoia means repentance as well regret, and Katabasis means descent, and of course Persefone (usually written in English as Persephone) was Demeter's daughter who Hades fell in love with so kidnaped and brought her down in underworld (with his brother and her father Zeus's consent) where she became his wife and queen of underworld and she spend half year there and half on the word of the living which is a metaphor for nature's death in winter season.

Persefone is great, I've been listening to them for about 5 years now. They're known for making concept albums and I highly highly suggest you take time someday to listen to "Core" and "Spiritual Migration" from beginning to end. Both albums are in my opinion flawless, and excellent albums to focus on every minute detail going on.

Spiritual Migration is Top Ten albums of all time, All genres EVER. For me! There is a section from around 10 minutes to just after 30 minutes on that album that is the pinnacle of music!! Just amazing!

I'm not a prog metal guy. I would have NEVER listened to this band on my own. Now I hear them on this channel and suddenly turns out I've become a prog guy apparently. Loved it! Nothing I would listening to casually... this type of music to me feels more like reading a book. It requires my attention. Same with Opeth and similar bands. Anyhow, great discovery! Thanks Tank!

My only complaint about this song is that it’s too short. At the end I’m always wanting at least 2-3 more minutes.
Persefone have always absolutely destroyed, haven't yet heard the new album but they've gone from strength to strength so I'm looking forward.
And, if you like Leprous, you'll be glad to know the first/title track of the album features Einar Solberg...

- the album is called Metanoia (pronounced me-TA-nee-ah) which is Greek for regret/repentance, literally it means "change of mind"
- Katabasis (pronounced ka-TA-vah-sis) is Greek for descent, it's the second song on the album
- the album ends with the 3-parter Anabasis (pronounced a-NA-vah-sis) which is Greek for ascent
Persephone was, in Greek myth, goddess of grains and fertility, like Demetra, her mother. Her father was Zeus and his brother Hades abducted and married her. The Athenian month of Anthesterion roughly corresponded to mid-February to mid-March and included a festival in her honour associated with the dead, the birth of children and the blooming of flowers in the coming spring season.
