Hi, Adam, i have never understood chord looper, up until now, and after watching this video, you have made it so easy to follow, that i will actually go ahead and try it. You really are the best demonstrators, that i have ever come across. You are both brilliant, mick s.
The chord looper on the Yamaha Genos can be found as a chord sequencer on the Korg PA keyboards, which can already be used on the Korg keyboards, and the way you can use it on the Genos can be used on the PA keyboards from Korg in the keyboard set, I mean it's not a new feature it's been around for a while and it's a nice way to get your hands to do something different on the keyboard, with the Genos it's pushed as if it were new is..Hi Adam can also present a similar video for the Korg PA keyboards, a comparison Yamaha / Korg thank you and a happy new year
Very nice video, thank you! While the looper is playing the chord progression, can you press the variation buttons to change the variation and add fills? Edit 13:25 looks like you can!
Another great tutorial, I hear Rod Pooley is now playing Bohm in conjunction with Korg 5x, what a pitty Scan are not agents for Bohm as the U.K no longer has one.
@ I will give you a little bit of an update about this a little later today, cause I gotta check one thing since I just learned how to do it I think it would make a good video for your people to cover.
@ I will let you know I just figured this out but I think it’s divided up in segments in the app if you send the whole song it sends it as a MIDI file that’s played by the song player but segments go to the looper but I need to experiment a little more to be sure I have a good grasp on how this works.
@ here’s how it works. There are two ways to use the information from the Yamaha tracking app. You can send the whole song by simply bringing in a song and telling it to send the song to instrument in the upper left-hand corner of the app or you can send the portion of the song to the cord looper by dragging down over the section which you wish to send to the chord looper then there is an arrow on a pop-up menu there that says more or something like that and you select that and then tell it to send to the instrument then it will be sent as cord looper data otherwise it will send it as a song one note when you send the whole song it sent as Midi data and you have to select that kind of data when choosing the song to open it there’s a small slider that selects the type of data when you open the song just toggle it over to Midi.
Thanks for this tutorial! Here’s a question or suggestion or…? I play several instruments…concertina, fiddle and others, where I want a chord looper track, but can’t cycle through the sections with my free hand…for obvious reasons. I do have a double on/off pedal…can you show how that can be set up to switch forwards and backwards through the loop sections? Or is there something already other there on YT that show that? Cheers!

Thanks for watching!
Very informative. Happy New Year 🎉
Thank You very much. That was really helpful. I have not yet used the looper. Will try it out now.
Glad it was helpful!

You certainly can!
I would be nice if a masterclass can be made about the Korg Pa5X chord sequencer with all its new edit features since the 1.3.1 update.

I just discovered that you can use the Yamaha cord tracker app and scan Music and send it to the chord looper.
Great tip!

@@Denvermorgan2000 Wow! Does it divide the song up into some the 8 parts or keep it all one chord sequence ?
