Everywhere Larry J Bird went teams improved a lot. HS. Indiana State went to the NCAA Lost to Michigan State and An unbelievable player named Earvin Johnson aka Magic. That started a rivalry that carried over for their playing careers Larry was/is the most complete basketball player EVER. He is an extremely intelligent man with hand to eye coordination given to him by God. My favorite of all time. Guys have better stats. Not that his were not amazing. MVPs all over the place. Coach and Executive of the Year. Brilliant man. Larry was a TEAM player over all else. The Late great Bill Walton loved him for being great and getting them a Ring in ‘86.Kevin was a marginal player, Red grabbed him, and Larry helped him to be Great.
I always loved the Magic-Bird bromance, these two dudes changed the NBA, played tough games as rivals since college and you can feel the respect when they talk about each other. Even mamma Bird was a huge Magic fan.

One of the funniest lines I ever heard of his was when he was being guarded by a white player, and wearing the defender out, and he calls out the coach from the other bench and goes "you better put a brother out here to guard me because this is just disrespectful".
