Cotronixco I agree with you. Even before the tragedies that will keep them from ever being Boston again, the chills were there! “A Man I’ll Never Be“ was one of my Favourite solos of the second LP; however, the first LP was the only time I bought an album by a new band because of one song: “More than a Feeling” ! It must have been similar to the feeling those fortunate enough to hear the first sounds of the Beatles and thought “how did they make those great, great those sounds?”…! (Hint: a lot of talent - raw talent - and a chap call Sir George Martin.)
Boston needs to be inducted into the Rock Hall. It is a shame that not many people know how much of a guitar god Tom Scholz is and how much a vocalist god Delp was.
The outro to "Hitch a Ride" still makes my hairs stand on end and gets me teary-eyed whenever I hear it, because of how beautiful and masterfully constructed it is and because Brad Delp ends it with, "carry me away for the last time." I just wish he would have gotten the help he desperately needed before he took his own life.

Very happy to hear Stone in Love on here. The whole song is great but that outro kicks so much ass it puts the song on another level. It deserves more attention in Journey's songbook.
Wilco: Impossible Germany The Beatles: While my guitar gently weeps Neil Young: Like a Hurricane David Bowie: Moonage Daydream The Rolling Stones: Sway Roxy Music: In every dream home a heartache (Manzarena is so underrated) Led Zeppelin: Black dog (come on!) Derek and the Dominos: Layla ZZ Top: La Grange Wilson Pickett: Hey Jude (Duane Allman) The Carpenters: Goodbye to love Hendrix: Bold as love (blocker I know but deserves a mention) Yes: Starship Trooper Guns n’Roses: Nightrain Metallica: Fade to Black ... And that Van Halen solo was really more of a closing lick than a solo, Rick ;)
He was describing the #1 spot and I was like, that’s Starship Trooper, gotta be. Nope! But I agree it should be on this list - I’d swap it with about anything here. Great list though.
The final solo in Rosanna is mad, I've listened to a guitar isolated track of that and it's bonkers. BTW Boston made history with just few albums. Amazing
The "Comfortably Numb" outro solo reaches new heights when played live (on Gilmour's 2016 "Live at Pompeii" or on "Pulse"). I mean if you can still call a four-minute solo an outro...
@@AndyMcKagan i could agree with that, but on Pulse the solo is a mixture of like 5 concerts, so he never really played the Pulse solo. But still, it's great
Guthrie Govan’s outro solo on Steven Wilson’s Drive Home is one of my favourite solos of all time. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. Also, Randy Rhoads’ outro solo on Tonight and a lesser known outro solo - Peter Haycock’s on the Climax Blues Band song Summer Rain.
Honestly, that part at the end when malcom's been playing all A and just when Angus is bending hard, he hits the first G chord of the outro ... it gets me everytime. One of my favoutite ACDC solo and moment period.
Yes thank you. I watched this whole video and the other top 20 solos video just hoping 'Telegraph Road' would be on the lists. Was extremely disappointed when it wasn't on either. Telegraph and Sultans of Swing both belong on this list. I'm a massive Dire Straits fan, and I think it's becoming clear to me that RB just isn't. Which doesn't quite make sense in my head. I'd just love to see one Dire Straits breakdown. I personally love how Telegraph Road slowly builds to a manic guitar solo that fades out. But I'd love one of their more radio friendly songs getting broken-down too
Greatest pop song, in my opinion. Not easy to incorporate such thought provoking and timeless lyrics while still being clever and catchy with the instrumentation. Maybe "Spirits in the Material World" does the same thing, though not quite as well.
That's a darn good list. One quibble I have -- Perry's outro solo on "No More No More" strikes me as the better outro between that and "Walk This Way".
I am devastated that the amazing "Wurm" outro from Yes's "Starship Trooper" was not included or even given an honorable mention. The first example I thought of, and definitely one of the best! Anyone reading this should give it a listen. Epic stuff.
My list: 1. Fade to Black - Metallica 2. Bark at the moon - Ozzy Osbourne 3. Where do you think you're going? - Dire Straits 4. November Rain - Guns n' Roses 5. Alive - Pearl Jam 6. I guess I just feel like - John Mayer 7. Longing for fire - Scorpions Edit: I want to add three more. :-) 8. Go your own way - Fleetwood Mac (Live -Dance Tour 1997) 9. While my guitar gently weeps - Covered by Prince 10. Smooth - Carlos Santana
I wasn't even half way through the list and was wondering if Fade To Black would make an appearance, but not to be, even though I'm not a big Metallica fan anymore (played in a Metallica tribute for a few years, so I'm over it.) Fade To Black was a very well crafted outro solo. Epic!
A great idea for a list! Great choices, Dire Straits outro instantly comes to mind because the outro in mho is almost the best part of the song and makes you want to listen to the whole song all over again just to get to the outro lol. Another thought is the outro to CCR’s “up around the bend”, I know it’s really just a lick, and he sings over it and it’s slightly faster then the rest of the song, but it’s extremely memorable and has the same effect to make one want to play the entire tune over again.
Floods was one of the first songs I thought of as well. Dramatically different then the rest of the song, melodic and really very much unlike your typical Pantera guitar part. RIP Dimebag dude was a genius
I wanted to write Floods, one of my favourite goose bumping outro, however it is not really could be called as an outro solo, it is a genius outro itself
@Charlie Zegers charlie i said the same thing, if your listening to an outro guitar solo an hope it never ends, then its a goodie lolol hitch a ride and comfortably numb are both that way
You put a great list together. I am glad that you cleared up the reason for some of the greatest guitar players not being mentioned on your lists. Randy Rhodes' outro in the song Tonight is probably one of the best outros to this day. Keep the lists coming. I really enjoy them!
Sooooo completely agree with you!!! Love that outro, love the intro tone, love the volume swell, love the groove, and the harmony vocals are incredible. It's my ATF VH tune.
Alive - Pearl Jam Fade To Black - Metallica Let's Go Crazy - Prince Paradise City - GnR Faithful - Meshell N'degeocello (Doyle Bramhall II ripping it up)
Pink Floyd - High Hopes Ozzy - Mr Crowley, Tonight Black Sabbath - War Pigs Lynyrd Skynyrd - Comin Home Deep Purple - Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming 38 Special - Hold on Loosely...
These are great choices. My favorite guitar outro is in Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl", especially the very end. It's not complicated, but those notes grab me, and I replay that part over and over.
Well, mostly it's live version of this song that does it, album version has vocals over it. Same goes for Black - excellent live version, but album is just not there.
@Luke Like I said, album version is just like that. when it comes to live performance - it's completely different ball park. Mike McCready often uses different guitars for the same song, different effects - he rarely plays same song same way.
@@markdixon7670 Steely Dan outros would be a very worthy video subject! I'm on board with your ideas and would also add "King of the World" after more thought. Take Care!
The outro solo of comfortably numb is simply one of the most beautiful piece of music ever written. But fact is, gilmour could have been n. 1 2 3 at the same time: Comfortably numb High hopes Another brick in the wall
My list comprises of solos that I personally sing mentally in my head. 1. High Hopes - Pink Floyd 2. November Rain - Guns N' Roses 3. Hotel California - Eagles 4. Whole lotta Rosie - AC/DC 5. Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd 6. Nightrain - Guns N' Roses 7. War Pigs - Black Sabbath 8. Fade to Black - Metallica 9. Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd 10. Coming back to life - Pink Floyd. 11. Mr. Crowley - Ozzy / Rhodes
I think David Gilmour would top this list from one to infinity, he has some of the most delicately crafted solos that haunt the passive mind like a song of its own.
The first two you listed are two of my all time favs. I would also add the second solo to Gilmour's "On an Island", one of the most epic and moving solos he's ever played for sure.
Rick, love watching your channel. Excellent choices in this list. I would’ve added the outro from “Ride Like the Wind” by Christopher Cross but all in all they were great choices! I appreciate what you do here.Keep up the great work!
Starship Troopers - Yes Layla - Derek and the Dominoes Reelin' in the Years - Steely Dan Also I know they're blockers but Let's Go Crazy - Prince Paradise City - GnR
Comfortably numbs second solo is the greatest because it makes you feel its a guy playing notes yet you can hear and feel what he means its incredible the amount of emotion in it far better than the first solo in my opinion but everyone loves music in their own way and each song speaks to us all in a different way.
charlie i would agree, if you read my post, i put comfortably numb, at 2nd , behind hitch a ride, both solo's you just sit back an close your eyes, an get lost in the music, an hope it never ends
Absolutely one of my all time favorites. The radio always stomps on it. It’s about 1 min. long and when it starts to fade I get sad. That solo could last another 5 min. Yaaah!

“Stone in Love” is a great choice. Ross Valory’s bass playing on Escape has inspired me for years. 👍😁 “Hitch a Ride” is another great choice. Love Tom Scholz. 👍
certainly, and other great prog solos would be - The Musical Box and Supper’s Ready by Genesis (Steve Hackett) - Yours Is No Disgrace by Yes (also Steve Howe) to some extent, altough it is a reprise of a guitar theme present in the whole song
Shame he's often overlooked but Gary Moore's Parisienne Walkways solo, especially live, is heartbreaking. My other honorable mentions include Pantera - Floods, Ozzy - Mr Crowley, Cream's Brave Tales of Ulysses and the insane solo trading on Megadeth's Hangar 18. Edit: Forgot November Rain and Bark at the moon.
I'm so glad you mentioned Reb Beach's outro on Headed For A Heartbreak. Its one of my favorites for this list. Your top ten is exquisite, but Reb would have made my top twenty, easily. When his guitar cries, omg.

Man i was thinking in Comfortably Numb when i clicked this video but i saw your comment and i remembered how epic is the ending solo from Pigs.
It’s a simple solo, but extremely felt and powerful. That’s Gilmour’s magic
First thing that came to mind when I read the video’s title
you are absolutely right. Sometimes i just skip to that part just to listen to that solo.
Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan has such an amazing ending solo. Larry Carlton kills it on that outro. I’m so glad it was included. It’s so damn good.
It doesn’t get better than that!
outros are so cool
Floods by Pantera is another that's amazing. Get chills every time
First one I thought of. Epic.
100%
Was just about to say that
This outro is hauntingly beautiful, to the point where people have put 1 hr loops of it on utube
The ending of Floods is not really a solo, isn't it?
"Bad Animals" by Heart has one of my favorite outro guitar solos.
Starship Trooper by Yes outro solo probably takes the cake for me. that song is the definition of epic.
Bpb Dylan, Hurricane?
This was a huge whiff, how could that not be on the list? Rick? How could this not be on the list?
Starship Trooper
Stone in Love
I scanned the comments for this, I was going to say the same thing.
@@otherkorean Stone in Love was on the list.
Wilco: Impossible Germany
The Beatles: While my guitar gently weeps
Neil Young: Like a Hurricane
David Bowie: Moonage Daydream
The Rolling Stones: Sway
Roxy Music: In every dream home a heartache (Manzarena is so underrated)
Led Zeppelin: Black dog (come on!)
Derek and the Dominos: Layla
ZZ Top: La Grange
Wilson Pickett: Hey Jude (Duane Allman)
The Carpenters: Goodbye to love
Hendrix: Bold as love (blocker I know but deserves a mention)
Yes: Starship Trooper
Guns n’Roses: Nightrain
Metallica: Fade to Black
...
And that Van Halen solo was really more of a closing lick than a solo, Rick ;)
The beatles the end
Jimi Hendrix littlewing!!!!
Moonage! Great call!!
+ for Manzanera, the Carpenters solo, Mick Ronson and anything by Duane Allman. Don't you just love music?
Jonathan Rolland He generally does 1 song per band
The greatest outtro is Steve Howe’s live performance of “Starship Trooper” on ‘Yessongs’ from 1972!!!!
He was describing the #1 spot and I was like, that’s Starship Trooper, gotta be. Nope! But I agree it should be on this list - I’d swap it with about anything here. Great list though.
Wurm !!
@@badrogue66 Würm
Was waiting for that too! Learnt that solo note for note at the beginning of lockdown haha
Always loved me some Wurm!
SO Glad you mentioned the bass line under 'Stone in Love'. Such a nice groove.
The final solo in Rosanna is mad, I've listened to a guitar isolated track of that and it's bonkers. BTW Boston made history with just few albums. Amazing
And if they wanted to, they would’ve still made it with only one album
Lukather is a legend
Jimi’s outro solo on Axis bold as Love deserves a mention. Epic.
The "Comfortably Numb" outro solo reaches new heights when played live (on Gilmour's 2016 "Live at Pompeii" or on "Pulse"). I mean if you can still call a four-minute solo an outro...
Came here to make this exact comment. The studio album solo is quite good, but the live solo is just epic.
@@zzjitterzz The Best is the 94er Pulse-Solo...
@@AndyMcKagan oh without a doubt.
I think during the entire concert, his playing was the best ive heard
@@AndyMcKagan i could agree with that, but on Pulse the solo is a mixture of like 5 concerts, so he never really played the Pulse solo. But still, it's great
Boston hitch a ride is unquestionably number one. I am going to save this video just to hear it over and over.
I remember reading somewhere gunthrie did that all in one take. What a madman
mule71 yes! Drive Home, My alltime favourite
Randy Rhoads outro lead in Tonight is top tier!
Rightly so. Guthrie’s work on drive home got all my PTSD triggers going. The man is so amazing!
Beat me to it
The last one minute of AC/DC's Wholle Lotta Rosie is just Angus soloing like his life depended on it
@eniatsuM evaD I love his outro solo on Back in Black as well, he's killing it
Honestly, that part at the end when malcom's been playing all A and just when Angus is bending hard, he hits the first G chord of the outro ... it gets me everytime. One of my favoutite ACDC solo and moment period.
@eniatsuM evaD an AC/DC gem about gams
If that moment was featured in a video of outro guitar solos, the video would either get blocked or taken down.
Same with Let There Be Rock, each solo is fantastic but the final one is just so damn good
I’m glad you mentioned “Headed for a Heartbreak”. Reb Beach is an insanely underrated guitar player.
... and "Rainbow in the Rose" of course!
I love reb beach
UFO Love to Love.....MSchenkers outro is one of the best
Comfortably Numb is my greatest outro solo... and for me it's the greatest solo of all time, period.
Definitely, that second solo is just as incredible as the main one
Agreed
Yup
Andrew Pappas its better
Another Brick in the Wall part 2 solo, is better than that one.
period
Dire Straits "Telegraph Road" is epic.
Indeed, especially the alchemy live version!
But I'd love one of their more radio friendly songs getting broken-down too
Also Tunnel of Love
Sultans of Swing outro on Alchemy is epic, those great guitar sounds just amplified further.
Great suggestion!!!
“Everybody Wants to Rule the World” Tears for Fears. One of the first solos I think of when I think of “outro solos”.
Bingo. This for me too. Both solos are great though. The outro makes the song another level
Yes. Here. Totally. And nothing much after that.
For me it's Pantera - Floods.
good one! Tears for Fears isn't the first band people think of, as far as guitar music, but that is a great solo!
Yes. Without question
Jimi’s outro in Watchtower. Made me wanna play guitar.
John Mayer did a cover of that and it was so good, I fell in love in his guitar playing
I am devastated that the amazing "Wurm" outro from Yes's "Starship Trooper" was not included or even given an honorable mention. The first example I thought of, and definitely one of the best! Anyone reading this should give it a listen. Epic stuff.
Will do
It was alright. I could see it on the list over the EVH one for sure or even as an honorable mention.
Massive oversight
Same!
cerealkiller2106 Arguably it’s a duet rather than a guitar outdo. That can be the only acceptable reason for not including it :)
Van Halen’s Drop Dead Legs is a magnificent outro ~ thought this was the clear choice for the Mighty VH!
I’m right there with ya
Totally. And one of my favorite songs of theirs.
That's my favourite outro solo along with the Rosanna lukather solo
Yep. As soon as I saw the title of Rick’s video, drop dead legs outro was playing in my head 😄
That was my thought.
Maybe you should do a top 20 for the electric guitars from your collection. Awesome as always, Rick.
Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam still has one of my favorite outro solos. Those ending harmonics give such a resolved feeling.
I live Mike McCready's guitar playing on that song...I posted in comments that Alive should be in there also.
Exactly nothing like it, totally agree!! ✌️
Oohhh my Pearl Jam "Alive" totally✌️😊
Best riff there will ever be in existence IMO
Even Flow is my number 1 as best ending riff
Sultans of swing should be higher in my humble opinion
Alchemy live.
No 1.
Yes it should
Also Tunnel of love
Dont know yet how high it came, but it should have been higher.
My list:
1. Fade to Black - Metallica
2. Bark at the moon - Ozzy Osbourne
3. Where do you think you're going? - Dire Straits
4. November Rain - Guns n' Roses
5. Alive - Pearl Jam
6. I guess I just feel like - John Mayer
7. Longing for fire - Scorpions
Edit: I want to add three more. :-)
8. Go your own way - Fleetwood Mac (Live -Dance Tour 1997)
9. While my guitar gently weeps - Covered by Prince
10. Smooth - Carlos Santana
Nice list
Yes, I missed Alive and Fade To Black on this list, too.
Got to love Dire Straits.
Floods - Pantera?
Yes: South Side of the Sky. Pantera: Floods, (I'm aware that no-one asked)
Floods was one of the first songs I thought of as well. Dramatically different then the rest of the song, melodic and really very much unlike your typical Pantera guitar part. RIP Dimebag dude was a genius
South Side Of The Sky is epic
Yes, Floods.
I'll also add 'The Sleep' solo as one of dimes best. 🤘
I wanted to write Floods, one of my favourite goose bumping outro, however it is not really could be called as an outro solo, it is a genius outro itself
“Can’t You Heat Me Knockin’” by The Stones is a great outro solo.
It's good but I prefer Sway.
I was really disappointed when it didn't make this list. One of my favorite solos of all time.
I agree, Can’t You Hear Me Knockin deserves something, especially since it was all improv and someone decided to keep recording.
“Does it make me inch the volume up during the fade out” should be the #1 Determining factor
true
Exactly.
Drop Dead Legs should have been Van Halen's best outro solo. That is one of the great outro solos of all time!
Agreed
Agreed!
Yup. One of.
Sooooo completely agree with you!!! Love that outro, love the intro tone, love the volume swell, love the groove, and the harmony vocals are incredible. It's my ATF VH tune.
Damn, and I thought it was going to be Mean Streets.
"Floods - Pantera" is pretty iconic
Yes!
Hell yeah!
Is it not on the list?
One of my absolute favorites, but is it technically a solo? I have always thought of it just as a guitar melody...
Definitely should've been on here in place of John Mayer
This is 'obscure' Van Halen, but "One Foot out the Door" has a true outro solo. This is the final track on Fair Warning.
That outro solo on "Spirit of Radio" is the one piece of music that can't go loud enough for me.
Alive - Pearl Jam
Fade To Black - Metallica
Let's Go Crazy - Prince
Paradise City - GnR
Faithful - Meshell N'degeocello (Doyle Bramhall II ripping it up)
Wow paradise city es so great !! Solo from slash
totally agree on alive, fade to black and paradise city!
Definitely fade to black.
Wherever I may Roam - Metallica
Finally someone mentioned paradise city. That outro makes that song explode
While My Guitar Gently Weeps. And "Mean Streets" would've been a good VH pick.
Pink Floyd - High Hopes
Ozzy - Mr Crowley, Tonight
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Comin Home
Deep Purple - Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming
38 Special - Hold on Loosely...
The smell of death by Skynard.
Steven Carinci one of the best songs out there in my opinion
One of the best solos is by the silver thinkers: firefly, sailor light, that solo is just EPIC!!
High Hopes, now your talking!
@@mindstorms44 The lap steel solo at the end High Hopes gives me goosebumps it's so good.
These are great choices. My favorite guitar outro is in Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl", especially the very end. It's not complicated, but those notes grab me, and I replay that part over and over.
C'mon Rick-- FADE TO BLACK, classic outro solo. One of Kirk's most memorable songs for solos in general.
Fade to Black was the first Metallica song I learned note for note all the way thru, then played it live.....Brings back memories.
One of the best metal guitar solos ever, as well as one of the greatest outro solos of all-time!
Over rated
@@joshuagraham5180 like your mom
I was literally just about to mention this one. Love Metallica or not, Fade to Black deserves a mention in any video discussing outros.
Rick. Where is “Alive” by Pearl Jam
Exactlyyyyyyy
I was wondering the same thing, love that song and that solo.
Well, mostly it's live version of this song that does it, album version has vocals over it. Same goes for Black - excellent live version, but album is just not there.
@@martij75 First song on this list was a John Mayer live performance. So, yeh, Rick pretty much forgot the grunge era for this list..
@Luke Like I said, album version is just like that. when it comes to live performance - it's completely different ball park. Mike McCready often uses different guitars for the same song, different effects - he rarely plays same song same way.
Reeling in the Years outro--that guy was exploding into the fade!
cool man.., I was also thinking The Dan's "Josie"
And "My Old School"... and "Green Earrings"... and "Gaucho"... so many great ones from which to choose for Steely Dan, but I figured it would be KC.
@@markdixon7670 Steely Dan outros would be a very worthy video subject! I'm on board with your ideas and would also add "King of the World" after more thought. Take Care!
Ahh, the outro solo that gradually gets more awesome as it slowly fades to silence. "Baker Street" is a favourite outro solo of mine.
The outro solo of comfortably numb is simply one of the most beautiful piece of music ever written.
But fact is, gilmour could have been n. 1 2 3 at the same time:
Comfortably numb
High hopes
Another brick in the wall
My list comprises of solos that I personally sing mentally in my head.
1. High Hopes - Pink Floyd
2. November Rain - Guns N' Roses
3. Hotel California - Eagles
4. Whole lotta Rosie - AC/DC
5. Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd
6. Nightrain - Guns N' Roses
7. War Pigs - Black Sabbath
8. Fade to Black - Metallica
9. Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
10. Coming back to life - Pink Floyd.
11. Mr. Crowley - Ozzy / Rhodes
Krish Bhardwaj also Comfortably numb has to be there
Yeah... Nightrain.... that outro seems better than the song. Hehe
Ozzy/Rhoads Mr. Crowley is an obvious choice. But my favorite Rhodes outro is Tonight. The best parts are in the fade too
Van Halen's Drop Dead Legs has one of the most fantastic outro solos of all time!!!
Rick, love watching your channel. Excellent choices in this list. I would’ve added the outro from “Ride Like the Wind” by Christopher Cross but all in all they were great choices! I appreciate what you do here.Keep up the great work!
Skunk Baxter at the end My Old
School by Steely Dan blows all of those away. His brain just works differently when he’s jamming.
I’d add Skunk’s solo at the end of the Doobie Bros How Do the Fools Survive on Minute By Minute. Gorgeous stuff.
I was surprised White Room didn’t make the list. Certainly one of the greatest wah-wah solos of all-time.
Starship Troopers - Yes
Layla - Derek and the Dominoes
Reelin' in the Years - Steely Dan
Also I know they're blockers but
Let's Go Crazy - Prince
Paradise City - GnR
Hell yes, I was hoping for starship trooper. And I was preety sure about Layla...
Layla has the worst outro ever, just end the freakin' song!
Personally I think there's a few dud bits in the starship trooper solo but the build up more than makes up for it.
@@stelbertstylton you are the first person to say that
Floyd Maxwell You are 100% correct. Awesome song Awesome album
Van Halen did an incredible outro on "Drop Dead Legs". Love that song.
Also, "Stone in Love" is a fantastic choice. Couldn't agree more, Rick.
I'm not sure if it counts but the 2nd solo in the end of Dreams is my favorite with EVH.
Comfortably numbs second solo is the greatest because it makes you feel its a guy playing notes yet you can hear and feel what he means its incredible the amount of emotion in it far better than the first solo in my opinion but everyone loves music in their own way and each song speaks to us all in a different way.
Specifically the pulse live second solo! 😍
Yes
To me, his guitar work is a perfect compliment to his vocals.
charlie i would agree, if you read my post, i put comfortably numb, at 2nd , behind hitch a ride, both solo's you just sit back an close your eyes, an get lost in the music, an hope it never ends
The second solo really builds on the first. The first makes the second one greater i think. It takes the song to a different place
My favorite didn't even make the list... Roger Hodgson's on "Goodbye Stranger" by Supertramp. Any love for that one?
That was the first solo that came to my mind. Can't believe it wasn't on the list
Good one! But super tramp have always been overlooked!!
Exactly!!!
Absolutely one of my all time favorites. The radio always stomps on it. It’s about 1 min. long and when it starts to fade I get sad. That solo could last another 5 min. Yaaah!
Yes
Randy Rhoads "Mr. Crowley"
Eric Clapton "White Room"
Dire Straits "Sultans of Swing"
Oh yeah for sure Mr Crowley
The thing with your channel is that you bring in new music lovers and keep the music alive for us older folks and you go into a deep dive. Love this channel and very grateful for you and this channel! ❤🤟✌️😎
“Stone in Love” is a great choice. Ross Valory’s bass playing on Escape has inspired me for years. 👍😁 “Hitch a Ride” is another great choice. Love Tom Scholz. 👍
Yes - Steve Howe's "Wurm" solo on "Starship Trooper" -- I know it's technically the last section of a suite, but it's an amazing solo.
certainly, and other great prog solos would be
- The Musical Box and Supper’s Ready by Genesis (Steve Hackett)
- Yours Is No Disgrace by Yes (also Steve Howe) to some extent, altough it is a reprise of a guitar theme present in the whole song
@@zolin6840 Siberian Khatru too.
Actually I think "Drama" was some of Steve's most amazing work, especially on "Tempus Fugit".
100% on all of the above!
I agree. Starship Trooper and also Siberian Khatru, but Howe isn't even mentioned. Shame on you, Rick !
Definitely Floods.
I love bark at the moon, both solos but the outro is a legit classic
Hangar 18 is one giant outro.
Yes!!!! Bark at the Moon outro is so awesome!!!!!!!!!
Throw in Randy Rhoads' outro on Tonight...it's awesome
I'm so glad you mentioned Reb Beach's outro on Headed For A Heartbreak. Its one of my favorites for this list.
Your top ten is exquisite, but Reb would have made my top twenty, easily. When his guitar cries, omg.
