“Goodbye, everyone! I’ll remember you all in therapy!” was my senior quote in high school. I swear, Plankton is the best character. “How does a fish drown?” I’m sure someone mentioned this, but the reason there’s a beach to begin with is because the density of water there is much higher than everywhere else. It’s a real thing. Believe it’s called brine.
Yep, brine water: saltwater that physically can’t hold anymore salt. It’s literally water underwater. Additionally, during Goo Lagoon’s debut episode, Ripped Pants, the narrator says, “Ah, Goo Lagoon. A stinky mud puddle to you and me. But to the inhabitants of Bikini Bottom, a wonderful, stinky mud puddle.”

15:55 Actually, fish can drown. And there can be a lagoon underwater. At extreme salt levels, if conditions are right, saltwater can become compressed into a dense brine, that has different properties from ordinary water, creating whole underwater lakes, or rivers. And fish can still drown, if the water doesn’t have enough oxygen in it.

"Oh, why must every eleven minutes of my life be filled with misery? Why?!" - Squidward Tentacles
I got saved from drowning in a pool at disney world by a life guard once when I was a little kid. That being said she was the only likeable lifeguard i've ever met.
29:03 I was looking at something else here, and I thought it rewounded itself 😂 (Victory Screech)
Fun Fact: @0:43 there's actually a theory that the SpongeBob SquarePants movie was ACTUALLY supposed to have been the series finale! And the Creator wanted to leave after the movie. But then the executives at Nickelodeon was like "No! This is our new cash cow! Y'all ain't going nowhere!" 💸
But Stephen did leave then later returned for a few seasons before his death!
According to the International Lifesaving Federation reports, certified lifeguards across the world rescue more than one million lives each year
One of the news reporters has hair, pearl has hair, and so does mrs puff
eclipses are safe to look at during totality. the moment totality ends, it's easy to tell and look away/put your eclipse glasses back on.
eclipse glasses are literally designed to block sunlight. you can look directly at the sun with a pair of eclipse glasses on. when you are wearing eclipse galsses and you look at the sun, it just looks like a perfect yellow circle floating in a sea of black. when the moon covers the sun completely, you can't see a damn thing. you HAVE TO take your eclipse glasses off during totality in order to actually see the total eclipse.
honestly, everytime you guys mention that office in the future i get so happy. like you guys KNOW it's going to happen, just like i do. idk, it's just so good, and i wouldn't mind if you mentioned it even more!
Mermaid man and barnacle boy aren’t the only ones with hair, Pearl also has a pony tail! 😂
As someone who lives under a rock and pays for no streaming services, it's CRAZY to me that Paramount Plus has the gall to ask for your money, and then they have the FURTHER gall to play ads??? Like, holy shit, if I'm already paying you, then get that shit out of here.
As someone who is a lifeguard that episode is weirdly accurate in the way that it is a nothing job most of the time but when shit goes down it goes down! Aside from that this episodes falls into the pitfalls of glorifying the job and forgetting that we have to go through training before we get the job (also when you drown you can’t actually Yell anything)
I ve been waiting for the magic conch shell ep for so long. FINALLY, IT S HERE.
