We are still in the early stage of developing and deploying 3D printing construction techniques, so it makes sense that all projects are small and short. However, there is no inherent limitation that prevents 3D printing for taller buildings. The structural integrity of taller buildings are made possible with sufficient utilization of rebars and other rigid materials (metals mostly). I am sure they are enhancing the CAD software to allow printing around "structures" (ie, rebar, metal I-beams, etc.); it has to be going that way already. 地震來了,不會垮嗎, this is reinforced by building code. 3D printing being a new technique, will take time architects, structural engineers, and software engineers, building department of a city to build up and share expertise and familiarity, and responsibility. Isn't that a matter of weather proofing and coating? How is 3D print preventing that? 運用到人力, of course, you can not get away with 用人力, but instead of hiring a bunch of workers, working at a low utilization rate, this process gives the project manager a much more predictable outcome and schedule. Much higher efficiency, utilization, and lower costs.
Then shouldn't be a problem if using it on steel structure

😃
