  • Just a quick video showing progress on my friend's truck. I cover a couple tips for cleaning the motor and how to prep for installation of a new front cover, so I thought I would put the video up on RUclips in case it might help someone down the road. Feel free to use the comment section if you have any specific questions on anything. Thanks!

Soon I will be changing my spark plug on my 5.0 F150. I am thinking of getting 2 sets of spark plug and try to cut the ground strap. What’s your thoughts on that? Thanks!

My thoughts are the F150 is a nice truck! Yeah, I don't see why it would hurt much to give it a try. I show how 'm currently running my ground strap in that video the other day about 10 best mods. That's what I've been running on my 22RE and it's been super smooth and good mileage, etc.

Do you have to do anything special to get the ac pulleys to align when you add the dual timing chain? I’m curious because I know that cover and oil pump stick out further than a single chain.

Single row or dual row, nothing changes as far as the alignment of the pulleys. I think mostly there is just a bit more room in the cover (inside). You do need to remove a small baffle section inside the valve cover, where it makes contact with the dual row chain however (I think I have a video on the channel which shows that). But as far as the pulleys up front, everything is the same.

@@ray5961 ahh I got you. I wish I would have known that when I did my rebuild. I was nicer the assumption it moved everything out.

@@Mechanicallyinclined141 Yeah, the dual row is a nice upgrade.

A chopstick? Well now, why am I not surprised. Bamboo is the ticket, if you try the wooden ones, they just don't hold an edge
