- 🇪🇹 There I was driving across Horn of Africa when I noticed a village pub in the middle of nowhere. Well of course I did what any humanitarian man would do, and so began the African village pub party where we met some local guys wearing drip.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for one day. Give a man a beer and he wont ever stop asking for another one.

Yeah he was bound to get harassed as soon as he bought everyone a beer, word travels fast and suddenly you have the entire village asking for beer and money.

My grandpa worked and lived for several years in Ethiopia in the early 50s (there were a swedish guy who helped Ethiopia put together their airforce and my grandpa were a mechanic in the gang). I showed him both your videos from Ethiopia and will continue showing the rest! He loves them so much (91 years old going strong).

Ethiopian food is actually super good, they tend to pile tasty dishes on top of a large piece of Injera (sourdough flatbread), such as Tibs (seasoned beef chunks), legume stew, fava beans, and curry chicken.

I had some great times in Africa - all day on the beer with shipmates and locals - ending up one time in Accra in a big outdoor bar, nighttime after quite a crazy day of drinking, playing cards etc - the generator died while we were playing pool with the locals and all the music and lights went off. While the owners were getting the generator back up and running, some of the locals, girls and guys, all crowded round the pool table and illuminated it with the lights on their phones so we could keep playing - good people. Happy times.
