- Hello everyone! How are you all fairing?
Well today is the day, we are going to make the cover for my Recipe Journal! I know a lot of you have been waiting patiently for this. So come and join me and make it too!
I have used a Pendaflex file folder, but you can use Cardstock or a Hanging file folder if you have an old one. Many options here.

I love that cover and I made other folios in a similar way but the extra pocket fold over part is brilliant! (The red check paper part) I love the way your creative mind works! Enjoyed watching it very much and I will try that extra bit on my next folio cover! Fabulous job!

My thought about the cover has been the following: I have a really nice fabric with cupcakes; maybe I will seal it on my own with bee wax. I love the light brown gingham wall paper you used. I can see a trip to my hardware store where they have a large selection of wallpapers. I will buy a roll so all of my crafty girls can use it too. I am sure when they see it they will want to make it too. I am so glad to be making one of these recipe books. I think I it is my favorite thing that you made. But not to say that I don’t love all your stuff. You know I would love to see videos of you decorating every page but I just love to watch you make things. But I know I can watch the video where you first showed us the journal and get the directions to that. It is a lot to do. So pick which one you would like to show, that’s my vote.

Both for the recipe journal, and also with different types of papers as well, for any other kind of journal you want to make I think :) Thank you for sharing this Angela it is very much appreciated :) I will try to make this cover a few times, and see what I can do with it. Here I was convinced that you had used masking tape and a blending tool to get the checkered cover hon! lol And, it was wallpaper!!! Ha! Doubt I would get wallpaper like that here in Australia. We don’t seem to use it a lot here in Queensland at least. I’m going to give the masking tape etc a go though! 😊 Thankyou so much for doing the video darlin. 😊❤️🇦🇺xxx

So excited to find out how easy this turns out to be. It seemed so complicated when trying to figure out how you did that before LOL. Do we need to enlarge the templates for the pouch and folio? They seem so much larger in the cookbook than the ones you had on your desk. Hi Angela, I have recently come across your tutorials and am loving them. I am wanting to make this but am struggling with the measurements. Firstly it is impossible to get the tabbed manilla folders in Australia, ours are straight edged A4 so I planned on using 12x12" cardstock. You have kindly given the measurements of 9x6" for the cover, but would it be possible to get the measurements for the additional flaps you add to the cover. My apologies if you gave them and I missed it.
Hello Anne-Maree, So glad to hear that you are keen to make this cover. You don't need the flaps for the file folders, so you could use what you have. The file folder was cut in half and I trimmed off the flaps. I cut the file folder in half and you have 2 pieces them. I folded each piece in half again and you get the 9 x 6 inches for each of them. The measurement for the flap is 2 inches in width and that is then folded back. You are able to see how I attach it together towards the end of the video. I do hope you enjoy making this project. Hello Angela, I'm so excited about doing this recipe Journal. I'm trying to actually make three at a time! I did the three pouches and the three folios I'm working on my third folio now. But I saw in the playlist there's also the coin envelopes too. Auhgg! I've got some catching up to do. Anyways I have a question regarding on the playlist I noticed there's a private video do you have to become a member of something to be able to get to your private videos? I am not sure what the Private video is on the playlist. I did go and check and do not see it. I might be something that I have recorded and not released yet. I don't have a special group or anything, I share everything with you, my subscribers. I post videos every Tue and Friday evenings (depends where in the world you live) and I stick to it. Hi Lucyverre, I did sew in the signature at the end. I have not put a tutorial up yet on hoe I did it, but it is just sewn in like you would sew in a standard signature. I will be covering it in another episode. Hugs and smiles 🌸🤗🌷💗🦋

Hi Vicki, you will find your purchased digital kits in the tab marked “You” on Etsy. Click on it and you will then find a line called, “Purchases and Reviews”.
Click on that and you will find all the digital files in there. You can select and download them from there.
