Wow, Pia prefers to give one choice instead of being safe and saying "both". This shows real thinking because she has to choose and name her choice which is tough and may not be popular. World peace can be translated into kapayaan sa buong mundo but since most Filipinos are bilinguals and tend to think in English for some words, we are more used to saying world peace.
If Miss Colombia can speak English and Spanish then she is bilingual in my opinion. In the Philippines, our first national language is Filipino. We also use English as a second language. So that makes us bilinguals. My parents can also speak Spanish since during their time Spanish was also one of the national languages. We were under Spain for 300 years and there are a lot of Spanish words in our language. Heck, my last name is even Spanish as well as many Filipino surnames. Many Filipinos are Catholics and maybe many are also Catholics in Colombia due to Spanish influence. If you think Pia doesn't speak proper English, then fine. That is your opinion. Your opinion doesn't make us or Pia a non-bilingual. Btw, there is a spectrum of bilingualism if you study linguistics which I have since it is my major in a university here in the PI. I watched Pia's story and when it was on the pageant, I think one of her clothes was destroyed by someone. Yet she washed it and wore it when it was wet and continue to walk off the runway.
English is not her first language, and as a person who is from neither of those countries and a multilingual, I can tell you that when you say something in another language, it gets mixed up and turns into something else. For example we say in English, we are in the same class, but in other languages they say "she is in my class". This doesn't mean that I own the class it's just just how it's said. Plus these girls have the complete opposite personalities and comparing their cultural backgrounds, Latinos are usually outspoken and confident while Asians are mostly quite modest and reserved. I agree that ari didn't handle the situation very well with Steve later and made a mountain out of it, but you gotta agree that the pressure of competing for months and getting the crown off your head is a overwhelming situation. So just think before you judge anyone, and if I as a 16 year old can understand this then you probably can as well.

I love Ariadna she is a bombshell. But no one can't deny that that Pia is such a down to earth Miss Universe and has a pleasant personality. I'm a Malaysian and I'm happy that she mentioned that she is close to Miss Malaysia, Miss Myanmar and Miss China when she was in the pageant.

If a person is anger oriented, the voice become rude via hormones. Miss Phillipines has a sweet tone of voice. Her voice is like music to my ears. I love the gown and hair of Miss Columbia.. And I love the beauty and the brain of Miss Philippines.
Wow, Pia prefers to give one choice instead of being safe and saying "both". This shows real thinking because she has to choose and name her choice which is tough and may not be popular. World peace can be translated into kapayaan sa buong mundo but since most Filipinos are bilinguals and tend to think in English for some words, we are more used to saying world peace.
If Miss Colombia can speak English and Spanish then she is bilingual in my opinion. In the Philippines, our first national language is Filipino. We also use English as a second language. So that makes us bilinguals. My parents can also speak Spanish since during their time Spanish was also one of the national languages. We were under Spain for 300 years and there are a lot of Spanish words in our language. Heck, my last name is even Spanish as well as many Filipino surnames. Many Filipinos are Catholics and maybe many are also Catholics in Colombia due to Spanish influence. If you think Pia doesn't speak proper English, then fine. That is your opinion. Your opinion doesn't make us or Pia a non-bilingual. Btw, there is a spectrum of bilingualism if you study linguistics which I have since it is my major in a university here in the PI. I have never bashed Colombians nor Miss Colombia like other Filipinos so cut me some slack since I know how to respect other's opinions. I even know how to spell your country. If you think Pia and Filipinos are not bilinguals, then fine. Fortunately, Americans (of the USA) do not think the same as you do so there are call centers in the Philippines for American (USA) companies.

English is not her first language, and as a person who is from neither of those countries and a multilingual, I can tell you that when you say something in another language, it gets mixed up and turns into something else. For example we say in English, we are in the same class, but in other languages they say "she is in my class". This doesn't mean that I own the class it's just just how it's said. Plus these girls have the complete opposite personalities and comparing their cultural backgrounds, Latinos are usually outspoken and confident while Asians are mostly quite modest and reserved. I agree that ari didn't handle the situation very well with Steve later and made a mountain out of it, but you gotta agree that the pressure of competing for months and getting the crown off your head is a overwhelming situation. So just think before you judge anyone, and if I as a 16 year old can understand this then you probably can as well.

If a person is anger oriented, the voice become rude via hormones. Miss Phillipines has a sweet tone of voice. Her voice is like music to my ears. It takes a lot of love towards other people to be so sweet sounding. No wonder she won. Love conquers. Love makes the world go round. Not anger. Love open doors.

@@cowboyswizzle i 100% believe pia deserved the crown, not just bc i’m filipina but because she proved it, and i did not approve of adriana’s pettiness in the aftermath of the competition, but i do think that they just have very different reactions. pia was more active and takes things into her own hands, moving back and giving herself space without being asked was her first instinct. adriana on the other hand was more vocal and social, making her needs known and, in my eyes, trying to joke around with the interviewer. both reactions were perfectly acceptable, just because you prefer one response over the other doesn’t make the other one wrong.
