    Been going to the Yorke Peninsula for many many years and the last few years it has been blowing its guts out every time we've been.
    I'm sure it mustn't blow at times but we sure haven't seen it for a long time.
    I remember a few times a while back that we went out onto the jetties in the morning, it was mirror smooth and was like looking into an aquarium.
    Thanks for the video.

      Yea can relate.
      Even growing up heading over to the EP to visit family, lots of fish and calm water, seems very different nowadays.

    Don't feel alone with the wind issue, you can generally stand the heat, cold and wet, but the wind just niggles at you all the time, no matter what you try and do to avoid it, very debilitating. You saw some nice country though, take care and stay safe, Cheers.

    • @Wdeane1957
      @Wdeane1957 3 года назад

      Better than here in Victoria. There's no access to any beaches, except for 4wd clubs that can arrange for very limited numbers to drive in the sand dunes at Portland. This must be arranged through the local 4wd club in Portland. Thats why we head north and west - to enjoy the beaches and awesome camping you have.

    • @markvines7308
      @markvines7308 3 года назад

      The beach in the opening scene is one of the few beaches cars are welcome on. I live there and it's quite a draw card.

    Great video guys. Yorkes is a great place, but can be very busy a lot of times. Most of the 'free' camps seem to be along the west coast, and hardly any on the east.

    • @Wanderingaus_adv
      @Wanderingaus_adv  3 года назад

      Gday Steve, we found that out 100% in our latest video. Campground were very few and far between 😩

  • @shaynebates912
    @shaynebates912 3 года назад +1

    Another great video guys and I'm sure you pulled up just across from us at the reserve the night we were there.
    Just a couple of notes though Len Barker is not a 'free' campsite as you still need to pay your $10 per day to the Yorke council to camp in their parks.
    Also the other thing and this might come across as a bit picky but the beaches are still classed as a road and you can be fined for no seat belt so just be careful what you put on film.

    • @Wanderingaus_adv
      @Wanderingaus_adv  3 года назад

      Gday Shayne! We certainly paid our $10 permit per night, booked all in advance on the YP council page. Did we say it was a free camp? Whoops!
      Yea great pick up, you are 100% right and our bad!
