The movie this song is from is a Period Piece from 1947. And even though this movie had one of the most diverse and talented casts it still didn't do well at the cinemas maybe because the audience didn't resonate with the story or the acting as much but the songs from this movie went widely popular. And visually every song is just a delight as it is from most of the period movies from India.

Even though the aesthetic of this movie was pleasing, the plot was not it. If you love these type of period movies you should definitely check out Bhansali movies. His movies are always a blockbuster. He is also famous for pairing the Actors Ranveer and Deepika together. Those two actors even got married to eachother. He did 3 movies with the two of them and all 3 are blockbusters.
They are; Bajirao Mastani, Raas leela Raam leela and Padmavat.

This song is from Kalank. One of my favorite movies. It wasn't liked by most of them except the songs. The movie is flopped in box office because of the plot which is more sensitive. As Indians are way more connected with their culture it's weird for them to connect with this film's theme. But I would say this film is definitely a masterpiece ❤

hey the assumption you mad at 5:00 is true. the girl is getting married to someone else against her will. but later on after marriage she develops feelings for the guy who's dancing. also this movie is set during the 1945-47 period. when the British were leaving India and partition of India was going on. the movie is a love story loosely based on the partition of India.

@@BritishReaction Well you were partly correct but also not correct at all. I don’t wanna give spoilers but it’s a lot more complicated than that and at this point of the movie she (the girl getting married) has not met the guy dancing yet so technically you weren’t correct.

@@BritishReaction You definitely should. I thought it was a great movie with amazing acting. Also the the guy dancing and the girl getting married actually are known to have the best on screen chemistry together in this generation. They have 3 other movies together which I also do recommend.
