    I think you should call it the. 22 bleedmor because the blood was spraying out of the deer.

    Can't wait for mine to get back from gunsmith in a few short weeks. Hoping it'll be here before our deer season so I can try it out. If not I'll find some yotes

    Was this shooting done with the 18" Vandal?

      Thanks for the question! This is a compilation of various shots over a number of years. The antelope and aoudad were taken with the 18" Vandal X.

    There were a couple of animals that were a bit on the large size for a 22 center fire….funny the video never showed them falling.

      Some of these clips are from a few years back so they're hand loaded ammo using 77 gr Sierras (the whitetail buck and the long-range doe). The Auodad and the Mule Deer were shot using 80 gr Hornady ammo we were product testing.

      @Horizonfirearms was that the 77gr smk or tmk?
      80gr eldx or eldm?

    Ok I’m all for fast round and overbite cartridges I just don’t understand how people 1 think that a 22 is ok for big game and 2 have been calling the 264 wi. Mag 2506 257 Wetherby mag and assorted others barrel burners when this it literally the same thing with less power

      @BrettMcNary 12 дней назад

      energy and velocity mean nothing if it's not transferred to the animal. You only need 14" of penetration on the biggest game animals of North America. This is done with compound bows consistently. Bullet selection is more important than caliber/cartridge now days

      @@pe.bo.5038 I've seen that happen with 30-06, 7mm magnum, .338 win mag,
      And just about every caliber besides
      .50 BMG. It's about shot placement, not the caliber.

    Same people said that the 22-250 was inhumane invented this. Same thing as 22-250 with a heavier bullet, less powder.

      22 creedmoor is more ideal for long range hunters, at 500 yards it has more energy and is moving faster than the 22-250. Along with drifting half as much in wind and dropping less because of the high bc bullets

      80gr at 3200+ fps factory loads and 62 gr at near 3700. With half the drop of a 22-250.

    • @NorthRiverGuide
      @NorthRiverGuide 6 месяцев назад +2

      What do you mean by "why"? Are you concerned about folks harvesting their own meat? Or the fact they used a 22 centerfire to do it?

      @@NorthRiverGuide lol no I’m not concerned about any of your list , I hunt , I process all my wild game in my shop , just asked why when there is so many other options , you would choose a .22 cal

    • @NorthRiverGuide

      @@kodybracken518 on small deer like that a 22 centerfire of that case capacity shooting heavies has no issues at all. I myself use the smaller 223/5.56 sometimes with bullets one weight smaller than those in this video, and I have no issues taking larger northern deer and bears with it.
      Do you process game for others? I also own a shop where I process deer, bear, and moose, and the number one issue I see is shot placement. The avg hunter cannot reliably place an effective killing shot, it's actually embarrassing to also be called a hunter their shot placement is so bad.
      For someone who can reliably execute a quality shot where it needs to go, a much smaller cartridge/bullet can be effectively used, now would I recommend the avg hunter to use a 22 centerfire for deer? To be honest, IMO the avg hunter has no business hunting. But if they are competent, the 22 centerfire will do the job just fine.
