no, they are french canadian, as in they are from the french part of canada which is quebec, so they are french, but french canadian, but they can speak english aswell obviously
i really don't like learning french... but i do like this version more than the english one, caus i think their voices r better together (srry for bad english)
@SmartToaster We were a French colony in the 1700's, we joined Canada (one of the founding provinces) in 1867. We're also not the only province that has French speakers, my province (New Brunswick) is about half-French. It's called 'Acadie'.
They make me feel proud of Quebec! Why does everyone associate french with France!!! In fact, I think we have a much better english accent than the French people from France. Don't you think so? Anyways...I also think that QC singers are underestimated! We have a lot of amazing talents over here! For exemple...Celine Dion, Marie-Mai, Simple Plan...and a bunch of others... En tout cas, moi j'suis fière d'être québecoise!!! Ici ça rule!!! Vive Montreal yeah!
Well not everyone know that there’s Canadians who speak French that’s why they associate it with France and if you think that French people speak English lol no not everyone ,
Quebec is not the only french part of Canada. Nova Scotia and New Brunswick both have large french populations, including communities where french is the main language.
Your right, but because we were a french colony since the beginning, we consider ourselves as "Québécois" before Canadian... It doesn't mean that we don't like canadian or anything like this, just that we have a different culture and way to think... But you're right :)
The correct term is "French CANADIAN", merci. And she sings in both english and french, Does that mean she's both English and French? Then you'd be claiming she's from both England and France! And, as you pointed out, she's from neither. She's Quebecois. AKA Canadian.
I loved know what too is canadian, how they, she is my talentous how them, sing very well and have a voice wonderful, and this version in studio of radio, came very beautiful, loved the combination in the voices, these canadian french\english, loved, iam brazilian, pryssylla of belem para brazil-amazon fan them since 2004 and now this sing marie mai, a girl of very talent went a wonderful talent meet to boys in the simple plan, good morning everybody and have good Friday, bye, lovers.
@krabool Excuse me if I'm wrong, but isn't Quebec part of CANADA? Doesn't that still count as Canadian? As Judicious said, they speak French but are from Canada. Technically that would make them Canadian. Also, Quebec was a French colony in the 1800's. Now it is a province that is French-SPEAKING.
Peut-être que si ils ont un meilleur accent que les Français quand ils parlent anglais c'est que nous parlons seulement français ici contrairement aux québécois qui parlent anglais et français.
All these stupid arguements about who they are, Fact,in Canada 57.8% speak English only, 22.1% speak French only, and 17.4% speak both. English is the first language, French is second, although both are used at Federal level. They are Canadians, thats it. Also, Canadian French is not quite the same as French French. I think the song works well in both languages, thanks guys
Right, They're called "American" but I can guarantee on any state tests you will not see, Under nationality or ethnic background an "American" bubble. -_-
@krabool They aren't English or French, they are Canadian. Since you don't speak English as a first language, I understand you confusing nationalities with language, she speaks French AND English, however, she is neither, she is Canadian. Just like I speak French, English, and German, but I'm none of those nationalities, I am American.
True, people from America are called "Americans", just like people from france are called "French". etc... But as for an ethnic group, "American" is not one of them. All I'm saying.
I just love the mix of English and French!!! It amazing :)
Marie-Mai is so awesome with Simple Plan
I love this song no matter what language it’s in jet lag is a great song very catchy
no, they are french canadian, as in they are from the french part of canada which is quebec, so they are french, but french canadian, but they can speak english aswell obviously

I know what you mean. Also, I think that Quebec is my favourite province in Canada. It's like being in France in Canada.
@SmartToaster We were a French colony in the 1700's, we joined Canada (one of the founding provinces) in 1867. We're also not the only province that has French speakers, my province (New Brunswick) is about half-French. It's called 'Acadie'.

@krabool They aren't English or French, they are Canadian. @felizzia93 I really don't like English.
