LOL - reminds me of mom doing dishes. She rinsed the plates but not completely. She said my dad used to suffer from constipation, but leaving a tiny bit of dish soap on the plates took care of it. She did it for 51 of their 52 years married. He never suffered from constipation while she was alive. You couldn’t taste the soap ever.
The casserole looks do good. I like to add Black eyed peas bc you can cook them fast even on the Stove even undoaked they didn't neex more thsn 40/45minutes. Dan really should more on camera. He is really funny. Could not stop laughing. I love wraps and burritos too.

Maria, omg. Love the Big Mac onions and I found that in the spice section at market there are minced dehydrated onions. We put them in water to rehydrate and boom, Mc Donald's Big Mac onions.
FYI from working there as a kid. Dehydrated minced onions rehydrated in warm water with a pinch of salt makes McDonald’s onions. When I make smash burgers we top them with these onions!
BTW, I tried Temu. I loved everything I got. It was fun to see you DH pop in there. Maybe you could do some couple cook together meal. DH and I always joke about who ever does the chopping or sauces is the sous chef.

I was cracking up when I saw your husband with his pink pot holder take out the casserole, and sprinkle it with cilantro and say "some people don't like the taste of cilantro because it tastes like soap, and I'm one of those people, but I happen to like the taste of soap!" I would cook the hamburger separate from the tortilla. I get you with your worry over raw meat on one side. Your meat had some pink oozing out and that turned me off. The recipe looks good and I'll try it, cooking the burger meat separately!
Not gonna lie the burger wrap was making me nervous too! For parenting wins we avoid the word gravy. Gravy = disgusting. Sauce = delicious and full of flavor!😂
The McDonalds onions are the dehydrated onion bits rehydrated in a bit of boiled water, just enough to cover, let sit 5 mins or so. The ones in cheeseburgers anyway, not sure what a big mac has in it. I like any onion in almost anything, but those bits have a nice different yummyness to it. :). More Dan commentary pls. Since you enjoy those onions at McDonald's when ordering you were able to ask for extra at no extra cost when I worked there. The pickles the tomato and lettuce cost extra. You might ask the next time you get a plain hamburger or cheeseburger.
I love Dan stepping into finish the recipe! I am really weird. Chefs develop asbestos fingers because they’re used to handling very hot food. I have an asbestos tongue, ilove food, screaming hot out of the oven. I’ve always liked my food that way. I’m on the fence about cilantro. I don’t mind a tiny bit of it in Thai dishes, but on something like that casserole I wouldn’t like it.

The minced onions on the McDonald's cheese burgers is a rehydrated dehydrated onions. I used them alot more when my kids were little, because my kids would eat those onions. If they asked, I could tell them is used McDonald's onions 😂 l Love Mom Wins
I'm going to check out temu. Your husband is so funny. I can't do cilantro soap taste so good for him. It's great how you expose your kids to different foods and they learn to like them by that. My kids were the same but my one son's girlfriend living with us is ridiculously picky. Basically fried food and pasta no cheese, pork, eggs, mayo on and on. I do the cooking and it's nerve racking. Then she likes Italian sausage 🥴 . Apparently she was poorly raised on food besides fast food bc always wants McDonald's chicken sandwich plain
Not sure what I did wrong but the taco bake was kind of strange tasting. Even with all the seasonings it really just tasted like a bunch of canned food together :( I didn't like the creaminess of the sour cream cooked in it made me a little queasy. I was so excited for this one. The corn tortillas also had a strange rose water smell.
I did a pickup list and the only things under $1 was a lemon, roma tomato, cucumber and a mix my son likes. Nothing extravagant. No meat except 1/2 lb of deli meat. I wrote it down and the cost per item. Going to go to a WinCo to see if I can do better. Eggs are down 50% though. I don't know how some are doing this.
