I would love to see a center forward like Rooney or Van Persie in today's game and for them to get the appreciation they deserve. They were born in a generation ridiculously filled with generational strikers and 2 GOATs so they didn't get their due recognition. Prime Rooney was one of the most complete players ever. Clinical enough to lead the line, technical enough to drop and link up, disciplined enough to fulfill defensive duties and press, this man was a joy to watch and I'm not even a Man United fan. Watching Haaland gets hailed as the best striker in the current generation saddens me, who is basically shaping up to be another Lewandowski who can demolishes small teams but turns invinsible against a big team.
